Earlier sources: Space
Space research and engineering study the universe and build the systems used to reach and observe it. Follow astronomy, spacecraft, launch systems, satellites, exploration, and Earth observation.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗546 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Gravitational Microlensing ↗
Gravitational microlensing is a unique planet-detection method that does not rely on detecting light from the host star or planet. Instead, planets are discovered when their gravitational field perturbs the light coming from a distant source. The mechanics of this method offer several advantages. It has the ability to detect wide-orbit planets of various masses around host stars of different types, at and beyond the system's snow line. Thus, microlensing complements the other detecting techniques that are more sensitive to close-orbit or high-mass planets. In this Chapter, we review the microl…

Gaseous SiO and Silicate Clouds in Three Benchmark Early-L Dwarfs ↗
Tracing silicon from gaseous SiO into silicate condensates provides a direct view of the condensation process that forms silicate clouds in L-dwarf atmospheres. Here we present evidence for gaseous SiO in three benchmark early-L dwarfs, HD 89744B, GJ 1048B, and LSPM J0632+5053B, using JWST/NIRSpec and MIRI spectroscopy. Atmospheric retrievals with and without SiO under multiple cloud prescriptions identify the strongest SiO signatures at 4.0--4.2 and 7.7--8.2 $μ$m, with the local likelihood diagnostic reaching $4.6σ$. In the physical cloud retrievals, the 8 $μ$m band probes lower pressures tha…

Multiple explosions caused by dust entrainment from gas deflagrations: In interconnected space conditions ↗
The multiple explosions in the connected space have greatly restricted the safe development of industries such as coal mines. A multi-connected space experimental platform was built to study the characteristics of multiple explosions in multiple spaces. The study on multiple explosions caused by dust entrainment from gas explosions under interconnected vessel conditions was carried out. The explosion propagation and venting characteristics under different volume ratios were investigated. The flame dynamics and pressure evolution laws of explosions are studied based on high-speed cameras, press…

Data-Driven Adjacency Correction from High-Contrast Satellite Imagery Using DeepWater as a Natural Reference Target ↗
The adjacency effect introduces spatial biases in high-resolution satellite imagery through atmospheric scattering of radiance from adjacent surfaces, particularly near sharp albedo contrasts such as ice-ocean boundaries. This study presents a data-driven approach for estimating the atmospheric point spread function directly from spaceborne observations over marine environments in both polar regions. Using optically deep ocean water as a natural reference target with known spatial homogeneity, an iterative inversion procedure minimizes reflectance variance to retrieve double Gaussian kernel pa…

Scatter, bias, and chaos of satellite orbits in triaxial dark matter haloes ↗
Abstract The pericentric distances of satellite galaxies govern their tidal stripping, quenching, and survival, yet their orbits are almost universally computed in spherical host haloes, whereas dark matter haloes are generically triaxial. We quantify, orbit by orbit, the error this simplification incurs. We integrate 106 satellites, drawn from a cosmological infall distribution, in static NFW hosts of systematically varying triaxiality at fixed mass profile. Triaxiality leaves the population medians of pericentre, apocentre, and orbital period essentially unchanged. Instead, successive perice…

Comprehensive VLBI observations of Galileo satellites with the AuScope array ↗
Abstract Interest in the topic of geodetic co-location in space and space ties has recently intensified within the geodetic community, particularly following the approval of the European Space Agency’s Genesis mission. From the perspective of very long baseline interferometry (VLBI), observations of Earth-orbiting satellites are not standard practice yet. To enable VLBI support for future co-location satellite missions, such observations must be integrated into the VLBI processing chain. In this study, we present comprehensive VLBI observations of Galileo navigation satellites conducted with t…

Low-rank tensor structure of precipitation and its application to satellite-reference merging ↗
The intermittent and variable nature of precipitation makes its accurate estimation over extended domains difficult, yet its spatiotemporal structure suggests that a low-rank representation may be possible. This work represents daily precipitation over the contiguous United States (CONUS) as spatiotemporal tensors and applies CANDECOMP/PARAFAC factorization, showing that preserving the native spatial and temporal modes yields more accurate reconstruction than factorizing independent daily fields or unfolded space--time matrices. Building on this finding, this work presents TMerge, a tensor-bas…

Stochastic Snowball States in Planetary Climate ↗
Motivated by the recent finding of Ji and Abbot (2025) that at moderate eccentricity (0.2--0.3) the planetary Snowball bistability vanishes, we have introduced stochasticity of the orbital eccentricity into a simplified version of the energy balance model of Eisenman and Wettlaufer (2009) to study a general Earth-like planet. The stochastic eccentricity is approximated by two dominant time scales, annual and daily, and is introduced through an analysis of the Kepler equation. We find that, apart from mean eccentricities less than 0.1, the stochastic dynamics are quantitatively and qualitativel…

How to assess evidence about Space
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
