Earlier sources: Space

Space research and engineering study the universe and build the systems used to reach and observe it. Follow astronomy, spacecraft, launch systems, satellites, exploration, and Earth observation.

SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.

521 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.

Earlier sources

Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Modeling of the Yarkovsky effect. I. Thermal dependence ↗

We investigate how the Yarkovsky effect created by one flat surface element on the asteroid depends on the thermal parameter. Then we integrate the Yarkovsky force over the surface of a spherical asteroid. In the next articles of the series, we will investigate the Yarkovsky force for bodies of more complicated shape and compute the change of the asteroid's orbit. Using perturbation theory, we analytically solve the one-dimensional heat conduction equation under the surface element and use the solution to analytically compute the Yarkovsky effect in the limiting cases of big and small thermal…

NASA Awards Orbital Safety Analysis Support Services Contract ↗

NASA has awarded a contract to Omitron Inc. for the acquisition of orbital safety analysis services, which provide for critical protection of NASA spaceflight assets and astronaut lives. This indefinite-delivery contract is valued at approximately $23.5 million over a five-year period of performance and entails conjunction assessment screening services for all NASA uncrewed spacecraft, support of human spaceflight activities, and orbital safety analysis support to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Office of Space Commerce. The work will take place at Omitron’s location in B…

NASA Adds Blue Origin New Glenn 9×4 to Launch Services Contract ↗

Credit: NASA In accordance with a contract on-ramp clause, NASA has added Blue Origin’s New Glenn 9×4 launch service to the NASA Launch Services (NLS) II contract. The New Glenn 9×4 launch service will be available to NASA’s Launch Services Program Office to use for future missions. The NLS II contracts are multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contracts with an ordering period through June 2030, and an overall period of performance through December 2032. The NLS II contracts include an on-ramp provision that provides an opportunity annually for new launch service providers t…

Migration and Evolution of giant ExoPlanets (MEEP). III. Twenty-Nine Giant Planets from the TESS Mission ↗

We present the discovery and characterization of 29 hot and warm Jupiter systems transiting bright ($G < 12.8$) FGK stars using TESS data and ground-based photometry and spectroscopy. Through the use of high angular resolution imaging, we discovered three bound stellar companions, named TOI-3988 B, TOI-6171 B, and TOI-7266 B. The planets that we confirmed span an orbital period range of $1.28 - 16.9$ days, a mass range of $0.35 - 8.7$ $\mathrm{M}_{\mathrm{J}}$, and an orbital eccentricity range of $0 - 0.6$, and add to the growing self-consistent sample of hot and warm Jupiter systems detected…

Space Journey Beyond Earth: Exploring the properties of exoplanets and multi-planetary systems ↗

In contrast to the observed exoplanet diversity, planets within many multi-planetary systems exhibit intra-system similarities in their radii, masses, and orbital spacings. This thesis investigates the planetary properties and system architectures, focusing on the intra-system similarities, the inferred planetary interior compositions, and the differences between single- and multi-planetary systems. Paper A shows that planets within the same system tend to have similar orbital spacings even when their sizes or masses differ. The spacing similarity is more pronounced in orbital period ratios th…

They current have the model available for free usage and it's pretty fast but not as good as Opus 5.5 or Sol 6: https://openrouter.ai/stealth/space-bunny-alpha Curious what guesses people have behind the provider/model for this?

How to assess evidence about Space

Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
