Earlier sources: Space
Space research and engineering study the universe and build the systems used to reach and observe it. Follow astronomy, spacecraft, launch systems, satellites, exploration, and Earth observation.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗517 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

An Infant Sub-Saturn in Scorpius-Centaurus ↗
We report the discovery and validation of TIC 88297141 Ab, a transiting planet orbiting a pre-main-sequence M dwarf (0.31 solar masses, 0.74 solar radii) in the Scorpius-Centaurus OB association. Group membership implies an age of $15.6 \pm 1.6$ Myr, supported by lithium and isochrone age-dating. We detected the TESS transits using a custom pipeline designed for variable stars and used ground-based photometry (LCO/Swope and LCOGT/Sinistro) to confirm the on-target nature of the signal. Our global fit of the transits and stellar activity gives an orbital period of 4.64 days and a planet radius…

Skill-Space Shooting for Autonomous Robot Policy Improvement ↗
Robots deployed in the physical world must be able to improve beyond their initial training as they encounter new situations and failures. For this improvement to scale across tasks, it must make effective use of experience without requiring human demonstration of each correction. Recent agentic systems offer a way to reduce this reliance on human effort by using foundation models to autonomously compose learned behaviors to complete tasks. Yet completing tasks this way does not itself teach a task policy to overcome its own failures; that requires turning these behaviors into learnable correc…

Exact bispectra in strongly mixed multifield inflation ↗
Using the effective field theory of inflationary fluctuations extended by a massive isocurvature scalar, at unit sound speed, we compute the primordial bispectra generated by every cubic interaction of dimension four or less in the unitary gauge, with the curvature--isocurvature quadratic mixing resummed to all orders in the dimensionless mixing strength $λ=ρ/H$. Placing the mixing in the free Hamiltonian [...], every scale-invariant tree-level bispectrum reduces to a single Schwinger-parameter integral over independent leg kernels, and what perturbation theory calls single, double and triple…

Cropland PAtteRNS: Parallel Dimensional Attention Networks and Attention to Dataset Disparity for Crop Segmentation in Satellite Imagery Time Series Data ↗
The landscape of satellite imagery time series datasets and boundary-pushing architectures for cropland segmentation has never been richer. However, in this gold rush, important truths are being missed on both fronts, as a drive for the most novel concepts or the largest datasets pushes finer details to the side. In this paper, we present our hybrid transformer-convolutional model, Cropland Parallel Attention and Refinement Network for Segmentation (PAtteRNS), the first model to use self-attention mechanisms separately for each of the temporal, spectral, and spatial aspects of Sentinel-2 multi…

DMA$^2$: Pixel-space Distribution Matching with Adversarial and Anchor Losses ↗
Distribution matching distillation (DMD) provides a general framework for few-step diffusion generation, but its modern text-to-image instantiations have been developed primarily around latent diffusion. It therefore overlooks key properties and design opportunities of native RGB. We revisit two DMD interfaces for pixel-space teachers. On the teacher-matching side, diagnostics show low-noise RGB matching is dominated by a local-texture cue, motivating a fixed high-noise matching band. On the real-data side, native clean-RGB outputs allow guidance from an external visual representation without…

CMB Injection Bounds on Moduli Fields ↗
Light scalar fields with gravitational strength interactions (moduli) are ubiquitous in string, supergravity, and extra-dimensional models. If produced in the early universe with lifetimes exceeding the epoch of recombination, slowly decaying moduli inject energetic particles into the Standard Model plasma, leaving distinct imprints on the cosmic microwave background (CMB). In this paper we systematically derive CMB injection bounds on light moduli ($10^3\ {\rm eV}\leq m_{\rm{mod}}\leq 10^8\ {\rm eV}$) across the primary cosmological production channels: vacuum misalignment, heavy scalar/infla…

Atmospheric dynamics and variability of periodically irradiated tidally locked planets ↗
Time-variable stellar heating may create new climate states, such as permanently hot or cold hemispheres, on asynchronous planets. Planets on eccentric orbits, circumbinary planets and planets on polar orbits around gravity-darkened stars all receive variable irradiation, yet variably irradiated planets (VIPs) have not been studied from a fundamental dynamical perspective. We present the first generalized study of the atmospheric response of variably irradiated tidally locked planets, using a 1.5-layer shallow-water model forced towards a time-dependent radiative equilibrium. We derive lineari…

Fast and Flow-rious: Gravitational Wave Background Bayesian Model Comparison using Normalizing Flows and Nested Sampling ↗
In 2023, pulsar timing array (PTA) collaborations around the world announced evidence for a nanohertz gravitational-wave background (GWB). Beyond increasing the detection significance, the next major goal is to characterize the GWB and identify its source(s). The typical model-comparison metric used in PTA analyses is the Bayes factor (BF). However, BF computation methods used in the PTA literature, such as product-space sampling and thermodynamic integration, are computationally expensive or inefficient if the models compared are dissimilar or non-nested. In this work, we introduce a PTA mode…

Gravitational-wave dark sirens as astrophysical probes: inferring galaxy-merger relations and identifying individual hosts ↗
Gravitational-wave (GW) ``dark siren'' techniques, namely the statistical association of GW events with a galaxy catalog, have so far been used as a cosmological tool. Yet this association carries distinctive astrophysical information that remains unused---specifically, how compact binaries populate galaxies and the identities of individual hosts. In this work, we turn the dark-siren program into an astrophysical probe by inferring both simultaneously within a single hierarchical framework. The method reduces the many potential hosts to a compact, probabilistically ranked target list, providin…

Detecting HI Self-Absorption using Neural Networks ↗
Cold atomic hydrogen plays a crucial role in the life cycle of interstellar gas. It serves as the intermediary phase in the condensation and cooling processes that bridge the warm diffuse gas in and around galaxies, and the cold molecular gas that drives star formation. HI self-absorption in the 21-cm emission line is the most direct observational tracer of cold HI gas that does not require a continuum background source, yet its systematic extraction remains a long-standing challenge. Existing methods of self-absorption identification rely on subjective by-eye inspection or modelling of the un…

How to assess evidence about Space
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
