Earlier sources: Space

Space research and engineering study the universe and build the systems used to reach and observe it. Follow astronomy, spacecraft, launch systems, satellites, exploration, and Earth observation.

SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.

532 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.

Earlier sources

Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Ground‐Based Validation of Hera's Spacecraft Monitoring Camera ↗

Abstract Hera is an ESA contribution to the international planetary defense effort. It is a deep‐space mission to the binary asteroid system Didymos and Dimorphos, designed to investigate the effects of NASA's Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART), demonstrate autonomous navigation, and support close‐proximity investigation by two CubeSats. Hera includes a Spacecraft Monitoring Camera (SMC) for situational awareness during critical operations such as CubeSat deployments. Although not a science instrument, the SMC may also provide scientifically useful and outreach imagery. Integration was ch…

Task-aware conformal power envelopes for multi-horizon spacecraft monitoring ↗

Reliable spacecraft power monitoring requires uncertainty estimates across forecast horizons and consistency between primitive electrical states and derived power. We present a task-aware conformal framework that selects joint residual geometry according to downstream power-envelope efficiency. A residual iTransformer produced point centres for five primitive electrical states at 1, 5, and 15 min. Candidate geometries were fitted, selected, and calibrated on chronologically separated complete-orbit blocks, and the final evaluation comprised 25,278 forecast origins from the chronologically subs…

Validation of Satellite-Derived and Reanalysis Solar Irradiance Databases Across Indonesia’s Tropical Climate Zones ↗

Accurate solar irradiance data are essential for photovoltaic (PV) resource assessment in Indonesia, yet no hourly-resolution multi-database validation exists across the archipelago scale. This study evaluates four gridded solar irradiance databases, CAMS, JAXA Himawari-9, NASA POWER, and ERA5, against quality-controlled ground measurements from 26 BMKG stations spanning all three major Köppen climate zones (Af, Am, Aw) during 2023–2024. CAMS achieved the highest hourly correspondence (median R2 = 0.855, rRMSE = 28.1%), and JAXA was close behind (R2 = 0.848), while NASA POWER showed the lowest…

Soft Actuation in Space Environment Through Autoclave-Molded Shape Memory Polymer Composites with Embedded Heater ↗

Telecommunication, energy generation, defense and research are just a few of the sectors that need to deploy structures in the space environment. Traditional systems are complex and expensive and, as a result, there is a critical need for new solutions. Shape memory polymer composites (SMPCs) have the potential to be used in such systems, since they can provide an actuation load during shape recovery. In this paper, an SMPC device with an embedded heat source, used to trigger the shape change, was manufactured by hand lamination and autoclave molding. A thermo-mechanical cycle was applied to i…

Some Important Results for Invariant Submanifolds of Generalized Sasakian Space Forms ↗

In this paper, we have characterized generalized Sasakian space forms in via of the Tachibana operator. We have examined the invariant submanifolds of this manifold according to certain important conditions established using the Tachibana operator and the most significant curvature tensors used to characterizing the geometry of the manifold. After obtaining important and interesting properties for the invariant submanifolds of generalized Sasakian space forms, we have provided an example to support our theorems and results.

An iterative interference replica subtraction approach for low-complexity precoding in multiuser massive MIMO null-space expansion ↗

Abstract This paper proposes a novel precoding weight that reduces computational cost and enhances inter-user-interference (IUI) suppression performance in time-variant multi-user massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) environments. In multiuser MIMO transmission, channel variations degrade IUI suppression performance of the precoding weight. Null-space expansion (NSE) was developed as one of the promising precoding designs to maintain effective null-steering to the future channel state of interfering user terminals (UTs). Meanwhile, massive MIMO system requires high computation resourc…

Binary neutron stars in the next-generation era: Multi-messenger detection prospects and constraints on the equation of state, mass distribution, and cosmology ↗

Abstract Next-generation gravitational-wave (GW) observatories will provide crucial insights into the nature of neutron star (NS) matter and the cosmological expansion history. We estimate the number of multi-messenger detections of binary neutron stars (BNS) with the Einstein Telescope (ET) and Cosmic Explorer (CE) and project the resulting constraints on the equation of state (EOS), BNS mass distribution, and cosmology using joint hierarchical Bayesian inference. Our results rely on specific assumptions for the merger rate, EOS, and mass distribution; we consider two different mass functions…

Ultraviolet Reflected-Light Spectroscopy of Modern Earth Analogs with Starshade Observations ↗

Characterizing rocky, habitable zone planets in reflected light is a key science objective for future direct imaging missions, and the ultraviolet (UV) is uniquely suited for supporting the characterization of Earth-like atmospheres. The Hartley-Huggins ozone band at $0.25 ~μ\mathrm{m}$ remains detectable at low spectral resolution down to $0.1\%$ PAL $\mathrm{O}_2$, providing a sensitive proxy for oxygen-bearing chemistry even for Proterozoic-like atmospheres where the visible and near-infrared $\mathrm{O}_2$ features become inaccessible. This work uses an end-to-end framework for UV starshad…

DEMOS. II. What the full Lupus demographics truly tell us about protoplanetary disc evolution ↗

Assessing whether disc evolution is driven by viscosity or MHD winds is crucial to determine the conditions in which planets form. The rich statistical information encoded in nearby star-forming regions provides an excellent opportunity to probe disc evolution. In this paper, we apply the Bayesian inference tool DEMOS, designed to exploit the statistical properties of disc populations and infer initial conditions and model parameters, to the Lupus disc population. We consider the observed distributions of stellar mass $M_\star$, disc mass $M$ (from continuum flux), mass accretion rate $\dot{M}…

How to assess evidence about Space

Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
