Earlier sources: Space
Space research and engineering study the universe and build the systems used to reach and observe it. Follow astronomy, spacecraft, launch systems, satellites, exploration, and Earth observation.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗520 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

A Missing Latent, Not a Missing Simulator: Radius-Augmented Inference for Real JWST Retrieval ↗
Amortized simulation-based inference (SBI), which is trained on radiative-transfer simulators, recovers exoplanet atmospheres accurately on synthetic James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) spectra but collapses when it comes to real reduced spectra. The flow posterior collapsed on real WASP-39b (importance-sampling effective sample size (ESS) = 1, best-fit \c{hi}2/N = 301), and such a failure is usually blamed on missing the forward-model physics, but ruling these levers out with nested sampling first (a temperature gradient, SO2 opacity, and a high-fidelity opacity set) leaves the fit unchanged, m…

Planetesimal Formation under Realistic Gas Dynamics: Dust Concentration in Turbulent and Windy Protoplanetary Disks ↗
Planetesimals are a key intermediate stage of planet formation and originate from dust concentration in protoplanetary disks, which is strongly regulated by gas dynamics. In this study, we use the multifluid dust module of Athena++ to investigate dust concentration in 2D axisymmetric global non-ideal MHD (ambipolar diffusion, AD) simulations of outer disks. Our simulations simultaneously launch large-scale MHD disk winds and resolve both streaming instability (SI) and vertical shear instability (VSI). We systematically explore the effects of magnetic field strength, cooling timescale, ambipola…

Spherical Symmetry in Anisotropic Non-Integer Dimensional Space: Application to Fractal Charge Distributions ↗
Fractal charge distributions (FCD) can be described by models with non-integer dimensional spaces (NIDS) and a special form of density of states. The NID linear space and integration over the NID space have been suggested in quantum field theory by Wilson in 1973. The integration in NID space is applied in statistical physics, in quantum field theory and in fractal physics. Mathematically, the description of the electric fields of FCD can be realized by the self-consistent calculus in NID spaces and the vector calculus in these spaces is proposed in 2025. with nearly 200 pages. On-Orbit 3D Reconstruction and Pose Measurement of Space Non-Cooperative Satellites Using Monocular Vision ↗
Dense 3D reconstruction and accurate pose measurement of non-cooperative satellites are essential for on-orbit servicing missions. Multi-view stereo (MVS) is the preferred approach for high-precision dense reconstruction from monocular imagery, yet current methods struggle with the speed–accuracy trade-off and reconstruction degradation under complex on-orbit conditions, while keypoint-based pose measurement is further constrained by limited training data and heavy reliance on manual annotations. To address these challenges, we present a monocular vision-based method coupling dense 3D reconstr…

Faint Diffuse 557.7‐nm Emissions Equatorward of the Auroral Oval: Conjugate Observations by Ground Airglow Imagers and the Arase Satellite ↗
Abstract At subauroral latitudes, discrete auroras, such as strong thermal emission velocity enhancement and stable auroral red arcs, have been extensively studied. On the other hand, diffuse emissions at subauroral latitudes have not been studied well. In this paper, we report eight events of conjugate observations of faint diffuse 557.7‐nm emissions with intensities of 300–1,000 rayleighs without discrete structures equatorward of the auroral oval, using the Arase satellite and high‐sensitivity all‐sky airglow imagers in North America. Ground‐magnetosphere conjugate observations of such diff…

In-Flight Aircraft Detection in Satellite Videos: A Benchmark Dataset and Temporal Snake Mixing Network ↗
Satellite videos provide dynamic observations over large areas, offering an important means for in-flight aircraft monitoring. However, due to the wide operational range of aircraft and limited observation windows, real data acquisition is difficult, and related studies remain scarce. Since the small scale of aircraft targets limits the information available in individual frames, existing methods for small moving object detection typically rely on multiframe fusion to enhance detection. However, background variations in satellite videos can disrupt temporal correspondences, affecting the extra…

How to assess evidence about Space
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
