Earlier sources: Space
Space research and engineering study the universe and build the systems used to reach and observe it. Follow astronomy, spacecraft, launch systems, satellites, exploration, and Earth observation.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗534 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: rising. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Assessment of the Impact of Climatic Variations on the Photovoltaic Potential of Kankan (Guinea) Using NASA POWER Data and Artificial Neural Network (2000–2025) ↗
West Africa benefits from strong solar resources, yet in Guinea the influence of climate change on photovoltaic availability has received little attention. This work evaluates the effects of climate change on the photovoltaic potential of Kankan (Guinea) using daily data from the NASA POWER database for 2000-2025. The study focuses on global solar irradiation, air temperature, relative humidity, and wind speed. A semi-empirical model is used to estimate daily photovoltaic potential, and trends are analyzed with linear regression and the non-parametric Mann-Kendall test. In parallel, a multilay…

A Data-Driven Probability Hypothesis Density Filter with Parameter Flow Implementation for Space Situational Awareness ↗
Abstract The Finite Sets Statistics-based Probability Hypothesis Density filter offers a description of a group of known or unknown targets as a single random entity with a Bayesian filtering framework. The Probability Hypothesis Density filter has often been employed in the Space Situational Awareness detection and tracking of space objects. One of its challenges is the determination of key probabilistic parameters, such as birth rates and birth intensities, for the detection of new space objects. Additionally, the challenge of incorporating nonlinear measurements requires the choice of simpl…

Length-sensitive screening of elongated biomass particles in a pilot-scale orbital screen: Experiments, shape-resolved discrete element method simulations, and surrogate modeling ↗
Mechanical screening of elongated biomass is not solely governed by aperture size: particles may be narrow enough to pass yet long enough to cause bridging, blockage, or unstable transport. This study evaluated length-sensitive separation of milled miscanthus in a pilot-scale Forest Concepts Orbital Screen using an experiment-informed framework integrating physical screening tests, 3D particle-shape characterization, shape-resolved discrete element method (DEM) simulations, and machine-learning surrogate modeling. In experiments, all feed particles passed a 12.7-mm sieve-shaker reference, wher…

Coupled dynamics of variable-mass multi-tank liquid-filled spacecraft with a flexible appendage ↗
Abstract During on-orbit operations, liquid propellant is continuously consumed in spacecraft systems. To more accurately investigate rigid–liquid–flexible coupled dynamic behavior during spacecraft maneuvers, this paper accounts for the time-varying system parameters induced by propellant consumption and conducts coupled dynamic modeling, numerical simulation, and characteristic analysis of a variable-mass, multi-tank, liquid-filled spacecraft with flexible appendages under large-amplitude liquid sloshing conditions. First, the variable-parameter center-of-mass surface constraint model is ado…

Heavenly equations in de Sitter space ↗
A bstract We demonstrate that all anti-self-dual Einstein metrics with non-zero cosmological constant Λ locally arise from solutions of a single second order PDE introduced by Lipstein and Nagy. We show how this equation fits into the heavenly formalism of Plebański, and establish a Lax pair. Finally we show how Plebański’s second heavenly equation arises in the limit as Λ → 0.

Additive manufacturing in rocket propulsion systems: a literature review ↗
Abstract Additive manufacturing (AM), commonly referred to as 3D printing, enables the layer-by-layer construction of components and offers distinct advantages over traditional subtractive manufacturing methods. These include reduced lead times, lower material waste, cost savings and the ability to fabricate complex geometries that are otherwise difficult or impossible to achieve. These benefits have made AM particularly attractive for aerospace applications, especially in the production of rocket propulsion systems. This review examines the role of AM in manufacturing propulsion-specific comp…

On the Long-Term Orbital Behaviour of Hilda Asteroids - I. Global Stability Patterns and Catalogue ↗
The Hildas are objects trapped in 3:2 mean-motion resonance (MMR) with Jupiter, and are a fascinating window into the Solar system's formation and evolution. We present the results of detailed dynamical integrations of 2,699 numbered asteroids in the Hilda region, following 243 clones of each Hilda for 1 Gyr under the influence of the giant planets and the Sun; 54.7% of our sample exhibit extreme dynamical stability, with all clones of 1,475 Hildas remaining trapped in the 3:2 MMR for the full 1 Gyr of our integrations. A further 408 Hildas (15.1% of the sample) see more than 50% of their clon…

NASA Selects Far-Infrared Telescope as First in New Mission Class ↗
Credit: NASA Editor’s Note: This release was updated on Sept. 24, 2026, to reflect current international partners. NASA announced Wednesday a mission to explore the history and evolution of the universe, PRIMA (PRobe far-Infrared Mission for Astrophysics), is advancing to the next phase of development. This space telescope is the first in a new class of NASA astrophysics missions, called Probe Explorers, within the agency’s longstanding Explorers Program. “The PRIMA mission is humanity’s next window into the deep universe. It will unveil the obscure across cosmic time to better understand the…

Metal-poor Brown Dwarf Kinematics from JWST NIRSpec Spectroscopy ↗
Galactic archaeology relies on stellar kinematics and chemical abundances to identify various stellar populations and associations. With JWST, Galactic archaeology of ancient metal-poor brown dwarfs is now possible through high-sensitivity, medium-resolution spectroscopy. We present the first metal-poor brown dwarf radial velocity (RV) survey using JWST/NIRSpec G395H spectra ($λ/Δλ\sim$ 3,000) for a sample of 23 LTY dwarfs across a wide range of temperatures and metallicities. We introduce a forward-modeling framework to measure robust RVs for brown dwarfs by focusing on the CO fundamental ban…

Triggering star formation by free-floating planets ↗
Recently, a population of free-floating planets has been discovered in the Galaxy. This paper examines the influence of the planets trapped within a protostellar hydrogen clouds on the processes of gravitational instability in the gas. A sufficiently massive planet can become an alternative dynamic center for the contracting cloud. This occurs due to rapid mass growth from accretion onto the planet within the cloud. Owing to residual velocity and density gradients in the cloud, the planet that triggers star formation is likely to end up in a distant orbit around the newborn star. Some second-…

How to assess evidence about Space
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
