THE INTERNET IS THINKING
Earlier sources: Science
Science investigates the natural world through observation, experiments, and mathematical models. Explore papers and developments in biology, medicine, materials, neuroscience, physics, climate, and mathematics; a reported finding is not necessarily established consensus.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗1275 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Connectivity Bounds for GHZ Graphs ↗
Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) states are multipartite entangled quantum states that play a central role in quantum information theory, with applications in quantum communication, cryptography, and distributed quantum computing. A major experimental goal is to create high-dimensional GHZ states using multiple entangled parties. Krenn, Gu and Zeilinger discovered a surprising bridge between these quantum-optical experiments and graph theory: certain photonic experiments can be represented by edge-coloured, edge-weighted graphs, and the dimension of the produced GHZ state equals the number of…

Gyrators for superconducting circuit design ↗
Assuming only the solubility of Kirchhoff's laws, the conservation of energy, and the form of the constitutive relations, we present a flux-charge symmetric Hamiltonian formalism that always admits a symplectic reduction for nonsingular, well-posed circuits involving gyrators, inductors, and capacitors (LCG circuits) with arbitrary non-linearity. The formalism introduces a notion of circuit duality on non-linear non-reciprocal circuits and a family of point transformations that inserts, removes, and moves reciprocal elements across gyrators while preserving the Hamiltonian spectrum. With these…

Putting a Temperature on Electron Correlation ↗
It is common wisdom that a better understanding of how to quantify electron correlation should lead to more efficient treatments of the correlation problem. Here, we not only substantiate this view but turn it into a concrete, systematic framework for ground states. Since prominent correlation measures such as the nonfreeness depend only on the one-particle reduced density matrix, modeling the correlation energy as a function of such a measure naturally places the framework within reduced density matrix functional theory, while keeping the cost at mean-field level. Strikingly, the variable con…

Patchwork: automated lattice surgery and space-time partitioning for real-time decoding ↗
We introduce patchwork, a lattice-surgery compiler for arbitrary multi-qubit Pauli measurements on a prescribed narrow-corridor two-dimensional surface-code layout. Systematic geometric rules simplify stabilizer placement and gate scheduling, including for logical $Y$ measurements implemented using twist defects. We introduce measurement circuits and schedules that, together with protruding lobes of $Y$-extension patches, preserve the full effective code distance for all numerically tested code distances. To support parallel decoding, we develop a wavefront algorithm that partitions merged lat…

Operational Limits of Gravity-Mediated Entanglement ↗
Tests of gravity-mediated entanglement aim to determine whether two massive objects in spatial superposition can become entangled through their mutual gravitational interaction. In an ideal model, the two objects are often treated as pointlike branches, but real wave packets have a finite width and are also exposed to dephasing and residual non-gravitational forces. We study these effects in a two-branch gravitational cat-state model with Gaussian wave packets. The Newtonian interaction is averaged over the finite wave-packet width, and spatially correlated dephasing is included phenomenologic…

Bubble-Sort Exchange Networks: Symmetry Selection Rules and Language-Model Distillation on Exchange-Only Spin Chains ↗
On a chain of exchange-coupled quantum dots a Heisenberg exchange pulse of area pi is a SWAP, so the parallel bubble-sort SWAP network of superconducting chains is native to exchange-only (EO) spin qubits, and any other pulse area fuses routing with an entangling interaction. We build a variational "bubble-sort exchange network" (odd-even transposition, one parameter per pulse) and study it as a Born machine read out by Pauli spin blockade. Exchange conserves total spin, so the reachable readout distributions are fixed by the total-spin content of the initial product state. For the two-spin si…

Are We Testing the Wrong Quantum Bugs? A Study of Fault Representation Gaps in Quantum Software Testing ↗
Quantum software relies on compilers, intermediate representations, and execution frameworks that transform programs before execution. Faults in these components can change the behavior of otherwise correct quantum programs. Yet quantum testing techniques are often evaluated using mutation-generated faults and curated bug benchmarks. We investigate how well the faults represented by these artifacts reflect those encountered in modern quantum software. We audit four quantum mutation-testing tools and three curated bug benchmarks, and collect 410 verified bugs from ten quantum software repositor…

Can AI Forecast the Extremes? Evaluating Probabilistic Weather Models on Tropical Cyclones ↗
Weather prediction is undergoing an important shift, with data-driven AI models outperforming leading numerical weather prediction systems on average at a fraction of the computational cost. Yet, whether this success extends to extreme events remains contested. Earlier evaluations have exposed important shortcomings, but have largely focused on deterministic models and metrics, leaving the capabilities of the latest probabilistic models less understood. We conduct an extensive benchmark of tropical cyclone forecasting, comparing GenCast, FourCastNet 3, and FGN with ECMWF's operational physics-…

Generalized $m$-body mean-field projections for classical simulation of $d$-dimensional Heisenberg-picture dynamics ↗
Classical simulation of quantum many-body dynamics is challenged by the rapid growth of operator complexity, particularly in higher dimensions where tensor-network methods become increasingly demanding. We develop state-adapted Pauli-weight propagation based on generalized $m$-body mean-field projections, which compress many-body observables into optimal low-body representations in a covariance geometry induced by the initial state. Combined with adaptive Krylov-like restricted Heisenberg dynamics, this provides an alternative to conventional Hilbert--Schmidt Pauli-weight truncation. We derive…

How to assess evidence about Science
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
