Earlier sources: Science
Science investigates the natural world through observation, experiments, and mathematical models. Explore papers and developments in biology, medicine, materials, neuroscience, physics, climate, and mathematics; a reported finding is not necessarily established consensus.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗1284 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

The genome sequence of grey willow, Salix cinerea L. (Malpighiales: Salicaceae) ↗
We present a genome assembly of the tetraploid Salix cinerea (2 n = 4 x = 76; grey willow; Streptophyta; Magnoliopsida; Malpighiales; Salicaceae). The submitted sequence comprises two assemblies designated haplotype 1 and haplotype 2, with total lengths of 386.72 megabases and 1,004.23 megabases, respectively. Haplotype 1 represents a single monoploid chromosome complement; 87.7% was scaffolded into 19 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the Z sex chromosome. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome assembly has a length of 686.79 kilobases and the plastid genom

ERGA-BGE reference genome of the bladderpod Alyssoides utriculata (L.) Medik. (Brassicaceae), a yellow-flowering shrub native to Switzerland ↗
We present the chromosome-level genome assembly for bladderrpod, Alyssoides utriculata (Brassicales: Brassicaceae), the only currently accepted species in the genus Alyssoides. The phased assembly comprises two haplotypes with total lengths of 1.01 Gb and 0.98 Gb, respectively. For each haplotype, eight chromosome-scale pseudomolecules were recovered. Haplotype 1 comprises 310 contigs assembled into 228 scaffolds, with contig and scaffold N50 values of 108.1 Mb and 135.9 Mb, respectively. Haplotype 2 comprises 181 contigs assembled into 96 scaffolds, with contig and scaffold N50 values of 73.2

A genomic resource for a hidden endemic: the complete chloroplast genome of Allium aktauense from Uzbekistan ↗
Allium aktauense is a narrow endemic species from the Aktau Range in the Nurotau Mountains, Western Pamir-Alay, Uzbekistan, where it grows in rocky limestone crevices. Genomic resources for this species have previously been limited, restricting molecular assessment of its phylogenetic placement. In this study, we sequenced, assembled and characterized the complete chloroplast genome of A. aktauense and evaluated its phylogenetic position within Allium using comparative plastome data. The plastome is 152,443 bp long and has the typical quadripartite organization, comprising a large single-copy

Complete Genome Sequence of Halorubrum Pleomorphic Virus 8 ↗
Pleomorphic archaeal viruses are widespread and abundant in hypersaline environments and beyond. Still, a relatively low number of isolated and described species are available for this viral group. Here, we present the complete genome sequence of Halorubrum pleomorphic virus 8 (HRPV-8), which was previously isolated from the Samut Sakhon solar saltern, Thailand, on a Halorubrum species. The HRPV-8 genome was assembled into a circular 10,824-bp-long contig with a GC content of 63.2%. The genome was predicted to encode 12 proteins, including a VP4-like spike protein, which is a hallmark of pleom

Variable Masking for Climate Emulation in ACE ↗
In the recent AI Model Intercomparison Project (AIMIP) benchmark, the ACE2.1-ERA5 emulator was shown to underestimate the true near-surface warming trend both during the training period and the out-of-sample extrapolation period. In this work, we present M-ACE2S (Masked-ACE2S), a modified version of the stochastic ACE2S model, which uses variable masking during training and reduces the reliance of M-ACE2S on any single input channel. We show that M-ACE2S improves long-term near-surface air temperature prediction. We also present a novel data normalization strategy called "global mean removal",…

Forecast lead time and the timing of crew deployment for weather-driven power outages using AI weather models ↗
Utilities request mutual aid crews to restore power after severe storms, and requesting early secures more crews but relies on less accurate forecasts. We examined how forecast lead time affects the value of outage predictions for crew deployment, using operational forecasts from two AI weather models, GraphCast and FourCastNet, to predict outage occurrence for counties across the contiguous United States 24 to 120 hours ahead. Forecasts were evaluated by the share of outage burden captured by the counties where crews would be staged. Captured burden declined with lead time: the loss between t…

Building and calibrating a 3Di subgrid flood model for Hanoi, without a surveyed terrain model, drainage data, or rain gauges ↗
Urban hydrodynamic flood models typically rely on a surveyed terrain model, an explicit pipe drainage network, and rain gauge measurements, none of which were available for the inundation following Typhoon Matmo in My Dinh and Tay Mo, Hanoi, on 7 October 2025. The present study addresses this issue by documenting the construction and calibration of a 32.8 km^2 3Di subgrid model under severe data constraints, demonstrating how unmonitored catchments can be simulated using openly accessible sources. Specifically, a 1 m digital elevation model was systematically repaired for river and lake bathym…

Transient PULSE: Code for the Transient Propagation of UltraLight (pseudo)Scalars to Earth ↗
We present Transient PULSE, a software package that numerically implements a previously developed source-to-detector framework for transient ultralight bosonic signals from astrophysical bursts. Predicting these signals relies on connecting the source emission spectrum to its evolution during propagation and the resulting observables at a terrestrial detector. The package discretizes a user supplied energy spectrum into momentum modes, propagates them through a specified matter density profile and constructs the time-frequency energy density distribution at Earth, accounting for dispersion and…

Logical CCZ state cultivation ↗
Logical CCZ states enable Toffoli gates, a central building block of fault-tolerant quantum arithmetic. We introduce an end-to-end protocol for direct CCZ-state preparation on bivariate tricycle and bicycle (BT/BB) codes. Our factory combines the cup-product CCZ gates native to BT codes with two novel ingredients, both enabled by engineering the logical coupling between BT and BB codes through projection-preserving lifts. Index-2 lifted BB ancillas enable selective $Z$-basis initialization, allowing the native cup-product gates to directly prepare two disjoint logical CCZ states. The prepared…

PhySGA: A Physics-Space Grounded Agentic Framework for Generalizable and Interactive 3D Composition ↗
3D object composition is pivotal to digital content creation and robot simulation, while also serving as a critical testbed for physical intelligence in foundation models. Previous methods either leverage large language models to directly predict object coordinates, or utilize generative diffusion priors to synthesize composite images for visual alignment, both of which rely on static priors in digital spaces. However, these methods consistently struggle with complex compositions such as precise hanging, gravity-driven settling and hidden containment, as these tasks require interactive constru…

How to assess evidence about Science
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
