THE INTERNET IS THINKING

Earlier sources: Science

Science investigates the natural world through observation, experiments, and mathematical models. Explore papers and developments in biology, medicine, materials, neuroscience, physics, climate, and mathematics; a reported finding is not necessarily established consensus.

SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.

1250 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.

Earlier sources

Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Operational signatures of exceptional quantum channels ↗

Exceptional points (EPs) are usually introduced as defective degeneracies of non-Hermitian Hamiltonians and, in fully open quantum dynamics, of Liouvillian generators. Here we formulate an operational theory of exceptional points that does not invoke a Hamiltonian or a master equation. The primitive dynamical object is a completely positive trace-preserving (CPTP) quantum channel $Φ$, applied an integer number $n$ of times, while physical data are probabilities $p_n^{\mathbf A}(x|ρ)$ associated with states $ρ$ and observables $\mathbf A$ having measurements results $x$. We define exceptional c…

Encoding Matters: A Qubit-Efficient Reformulation for Quantum Resilient Routing ↗

Qubits are powerful computational resources because each additional qubit doubles the size of the accessible state space. This expressive power comes at a cost: adding qubits also increases circuit size, constraint overhead, and exposure to hardware noise. These limitations are especially critical for near-term quantum computers, making the number of qubits required to formulate a problem a central practical concern. In this work, we present a method for efficiently mapping logistics and routing problems onto qubits through structure-aware encoding reduction. We demonstrate the method on a ben…

Genuine multipartite nonlocality detection in graph states ↗

Experimental detection of multipartite Bell nonlocality faces many challenges. The increase in the size of the system demands a higher fidelity of state preparation, a higher detection efficiency, and a larger number of correlators that need to be estimated. These issues are even more pronounced if one wishes to detect a more restrictive variant of Bell nonlocality called genuine multipartite nonlocality (GMNL). In this work, we introduce two classes of multipartite Bell inequalities that are capable of detecting GMNL correlations and address different experimental hurdles in GMNL detection. T…

Entanglement Catalysis Beyond the Asymptotic Rate ↗

Quantum entanglement is a fundamental resource in quantum information science, commonly consumed to perform tasks like quantum teleportation and quantum key distribution. Entanglement concentration converts partially entangled pure states into nearly perfect Bell pairs. While its efficiency is well understood in the asymptotic limit, practical protocols must operate with finite systems. In this finite regime, and at the low error levels relevant in practice, performance is penalized by corrections that reduce the achievable yield. We investigate whether this fundamental finite-size penalty can…

First Experimental Results of Space Object Detection Using the InteRFeX Array ↗

This paper presents the first experimental validation of InteRFeX, a non-uniform receive only (passive) array located at the Nova Systems Space Precinct in Peterborough, Australia, designed for space domain awareness applications. It operates over a frequency range of 70 to 300 MHz and is capable of functioning in a range of observational modes, including as a coherent passive bistatic radar for space surveillance, which is the focus of this work. InteRFeX exploits commercial broadcast transmissions as illuminators of opportunity, combining cross-ambiguity function processing for bistatic rang…

The Hydrological Cycle and Circulation of Tidally-Locked Planets with a Finite Moisture Inventory ↗

Tidally-locked planets express a range of climate regimes distinct from those found in our solar system. Their atmospheres are often dominated by planetary-wide overturning circulations and super- rotating jets. In this paper we explore the hydrological cycle of such planets and how it might depend on the total inventory of condensate. To this end we use a set of idealised GCM simulations to probe the response of the hydrological cycle to the surface moisture budget in their atmospheres. We find that for low moisture inventories the climate quickly develops a barren day side and a moist night…

Morphology-based retrieval of local wave parameters and phase shifts in satellite-observed atmospheric disturbances ↗

Currently available methods for processing atmospheric wave disturbances are often based on integral wavelet transform techniques, which efficiently estimate spectral data but are fundamentally limited by the uncertainty principle. To address this limitation, this work proposes a novel morphological approach based on partitioning spatial disturbance profiles into separate, well-defined wave segments. By focusing exclusively on the local waveform morphology of a central half-wave and its two adjacent out-of-phase counterparts, and taking the modified Morlet wavelet as a primary example of a mod…

How to assess evidence about Science

Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
