THE INTERNET IS THINKING
Earlier sources: Science
Science investigates the natural world through observation, experiments, and mathematical models. Explore papers and developments in biology, medicine, materials, neuroscience, physics, climate, and mathematics; a reported finding is not necessarily established consensus.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗1293 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Subcutaneous infliximab in inflammatory bowel disease: from pharmacokinetic principles to clinical practice ↗
INTRODUCTION: Subcutaneous infliximab (CT-P13 SC) was developed to address the pronounced peak-to-trough fluctuations of intravenous dosing and the immunogenicity driven by sub-therapeutic troughs. Through a stable steady-state pharmacokinetic profile it meets the international Delphi consensus definition of a biobetter, although this is not a regulatory designation. AREAS COVERED: This narrative review synthesizes pivotal Phase 3 trial data, randomized comparisons of continued intravenous versus subcutaneous maintenance, real-world switching cohorts, individual participant data meta-analyses,…

Physics-aware and uncertainty-guided deep learning-based surrogate optimization for low-power OTA design ↗
This paper presents a physics-aware and uncertainty-guided surrogate optimization framework for the design of ultra-low-power and low-noise cross-coupled feed-forward (CCFF) operational transconductance amplifiers (OTAs) for biosignal acquisition systems. Designing such OTAs involves complex trade-offs among gain, bandwidth, noise, and power, which are difficult to address using conventional methods. To overcome these challenges, a deep learning-based surrogate modeling framework implemented in PyTorch neural networks is proposed, explicitly incorporating device-level constraints such as $$g_m…

Non‐Invasive Visualization of Cells Expressing Unmodified Target mRNA Using a Programmable RNA ‐Mediated BiFC Platform ↗
ABSTRACT Real‐time visualization of specific mRNA expression in living cells is essential for understanding diverse biological processes; however, many existing approaches require modifications to target genes. In this study, we developed a programmable RNA‐mediated bimolecular fluorescence complementation (RmBiFC) system by fusing split Venus fluorescent protein fragments with the Pumilio homology domain as a modular RNA‐binding domain. Using murine leukemia virus mRNA as a model target, we systematically optimized the orientation of the probes and demonstrated robust detection of cells expre…

Anti-inflammation lipid nanoparticles enable localized mRNA therapy for inflammatory bowel disease ↗
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is an incurable disorder that requires long-term management, which is limited by suboptimal efficacy and systemic toxicity of current treatments. We developed a series of glucocorticoid-derived ionizable lipids and formulated them into lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) for rectal and lesion-localized mRNA delivery. MP2 LNPs, the lead formulation based on a methylprednisolone-derived ionizable lipid, showed a 15-fold higher delivery efficiency in vivo than the FDA approved SM102 LNPs. When loaded with interleukin-35 (IL-35) mRNA, MP2 LNPs (MP2-IL-35) ameliorated coliti…

Genomic characterization and phylogenomic placement of AP66, an Acinetobacter pittii ST640 metagenome-assembled genome recovered from a human stool-derived mixed culture in Nigeria ↗
Acinetobacter pittii , a member of the Acinetobacter calcoaceticus-baumannii complex, is increasingly recognized as an opportunistic pathogen with substantial genomic and ecological diversity. Although its genomic representation has expanded considerably, human-associated genomes from sub-Saharan Africa remain comparatively underrepresented. We characterized A. pittii AP66, a high-quality metagenome-assembled genome (MAG) recovered from a stool-derived mixed bacterial culture during diagnostic investigation for enteric pathogens in Nigeria. The AP66 genome comprised 3.79 Mb across 67 contigs a…

Earth-observation variables identify temperature-centered protein-family covariation across macroalgal genomes ↗
Macroalgal genome-environment associations are difficult to separate from lineage, geography, and uneven genome quality. We describe nine Arabian Gulf genomes and analyze them with 117 published genomes (126 total). We tested protein family (Pfam) profiles against 13 Google Earth Engine variables. Of 87,123 tests, 84 met global Benjamini-Hochberg q < 0.05, and 49 pairs across 30 Pfams retained selected-family q < 0.05 with discovery-consistent direction in all seven post hoc specifications; all 13 pairs meeting global Bonferroni p < 0.05 were retained. The 49 pairs comprised 43 sea surface tem…

A Clinical Primer on Computer Vision ↗
Abstract Computer vision is a rapidly evolving field within computer science that focuses on extracting meaningful information from digital images. In medical imaging, computer vision techniques such as object detection, classification, and segmentation are essential for analysing complex anatomical structures. This primer provides an overview of computer vision concepts and methods, highlighting both traditional approaches and modern machine learning techniques. Landmark detection and shape modelling are also discussed as these are particularly relevant for musculoskeletal imaging. Challenges…

Complete genome sequence of the putative plant growth-promoting bacterium Pseudomonas gorinensis strain NG1 isolated from a high-lipid algae strain ↗
ABSTRACT We report the genome sequence of Pseudomonas gorinensis NG1 isolated from alongside the alga Nannochloropsis gaditana . Bacteria capable of growing alongside algae cultured for biofuel production were isolated. The genome is 7,017,688 bp with 60.73% GC content and was sequenced with Oxford Nanopore technology and assembled with Flye.

Targeting of Protein Persulfidation in Aging and Age-Related Disorders ↗
Aging is associated with a progressive loss of proteostasis and increased susceptibility to neurodegenerative and metabolic disorders. Among the molecular mechanisms implicated in these processes, protein persulfidation, a hydrogen sulfide (H2S)-mediated cysteine modification, has emerged as a critical regulator of protein function and redox homeostasis. Recent studies demonstrate that aging is accompanied by a decline in persulfidation and a concomitant increase in irreversible cysteine hyperoxidation, leading to protein dysfunction and aggregation. Beyond its established role in protecting p…

How to assess evidence about Science
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
