Earlier sources: Science

Science investigates the natural world through observation, experiments, and mathematical models. Explore papers and developments in biology, medicine, materials, neuroscience, physics, climate, and mathematics; a reported finding is not necessarily established consensus.

SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.

1624 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.

Earlier sources

Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

    Quantum effects in plasmas ↗

The year 2025 has been designated by UNESCO as the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology. One hundred and twenty-five years ago, Max Planck's discovery of radiation quanta started the quantum era, and 100 years ago, quantum mechanics was developed by Schrödinger, Heisenberg, Bohr, Pauli, Dirac, Born, Fermi, and many others. By now, quantum mechanics is the theoretical foundation of most fields of physics and chemistry, and it is the basis for modern nanotechnology. How about plasma physics? How important are quantum effects in plasmas? In what experiments are quantum effects obs…

GPU-Accelerated Quantum Simulation of Stabilizer Circuits ↗

We introduce new parallel algorithms for efficiently simulating stabilizer (Clifford) circuits on GPUs, with a focus on data-parallel tableau evolution and scalable handling of projective measurements. Our approach reformulates key bottlenecks in stabilizer simulation – such as Gaussian elimination and measurement updates – into GPU-tailored primitives that eliminate sequential dependencies and maximize memory coalescing. We implement these techniques in QuaSARQ, a GPU-accelerated stabilizer simulator designed for large qubit counts and many-shot sampling. Across a broad benchmark suite reachi…

Compiling Quantum Regular Language States ↗

State preparation compilers for quantum computers typically sit at two extremes: general-purpose routines that treat the target as an opaque amplitude vector, and bespoke constructions for a handful of well-known state families. We ask whether a compiler can instead accept simple, structure-aware specifications while providing predictable resource guarantees. We answer this by designing and implementing a quantum state-preparation compiler for regular language states (RLS): uniform superpositions over bitstrings accepted by a regular description, and their complements. Users describe the targe…

Universal Dilation of Linear Itô SDEs: Quantum Trajectories and Lindblad Simulation of Second Moments ↗

We present a universal framework for simulating N -dimensional linear Itô stochastic differential equations (SDEs) on quantum computers with additive or multiplicative noises. Building on a unitary dilation technique, we establish a rigorous mapping from the general linear SDEs d X t = A ( t ) X t d t + ∑ j = 1 J B j ( t ) X t d W t j to stochastic Schrödinger equations (SSE) on a dilated Hilbert space. Crucially, this embedding is pathwise exact in that the classical solution is recovered as a projection of the dilated quantum state for each fixed noise realization. We demonstrate that the re…

Fast Bosonic Control via Multiphoton Qubit-Oscillator Interactions ↗

We study the problem of n -fold rotationally symmetric bosonic state preparation, which is of great importance to bosonic quantum error correction, using a multiphoton interaction between an oscillator and an auxiliary qubit. We present an n -photon Law-Eberly ( n LE) protocol that serves as an analytic baseline, alongside numerical optimal control calculations that further reduce state preparation time. We find that multiphoton control protocols substantially reduce preparation times for binomial, cat, and Gottesman-Kitaev-Preskill codewords compared to schemes relying on standard linear inte…

Entanglement fidelity of the Petz decoder for one-shot entanglement transmission ↗

One-shot entanglement transmission is a quantum information processing task where a quantum state is sent to a second party over a noisy channel. The goal of the task is to approximately recover the original state by applying a decoder to the output of the noisy channel. In this work, we note that the Petz map induces a universal decoder for one-shot entanglement transmission, and we quantify its entanglement fidelity. This fidelity is found to be determined by the singly minimized Petz Rényi mutual information of order 1/2 associated with a complementary channel, thus providing a novel operat…

Benchmarking Universal Single-Copy Orthologs for Phylogenomics: The Impact of Paralogy ↗

Universal Single-Copy Orthologs (USCOs) are taxonomically-defined gene sets originally proposed to evaluate completeness in genome assemblies. Due to their single- or low-copy nature, they have also been proposed as ideal markers for phylogenomics. Here, we test this assumption using two vertebrate datasets, mammals and ray-finned fish, and their corresponding USCO reference marker sets, actinopterygii_odb10 and mammalia_odb10. Our results show that although most USCO markers are single-copy, 85% and 91% respectively, empirical analyses using a large number of taxa are able to identify a non-n

A Lenalidomide-Inducible Suicide Switch for Gene- and Cell-Based Therapy ↗

Genetically modified immune effector cells, including chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells, have emerged as transformative anti-cancer agents. However, these autonomous, living therapies are limited by difficult-to-control hyperactivation toxicities. To achieve their full potential as therapies for a broader range of diseases, CAR T cells must target novel antigens and integrate further potency enhancements that raise the possibility of novel and intensified toxicities. High performance safety systems are needed to restrain these highly active next-generation gene- and cell-based therapies.

Base-mismatched crRNA in CRISPR Enabled Universal One-pot Rapid Nucleic Acid Detection ↗

CRISPR-Cas12a-based diagnostics are promising for field detection yet are often constrained by two step workflows or laborious optimization of one-pot reactions. Herein, we present a universal one-pot RPA/CRISPR-Cas12a strategy using base-mismatched crRNA in the seed region (positions 1-6). Introducing of single-nucleotide mismatches (complementary or error) into crRNA suppresses cis‑cleavage activity, enabling amplification and detection in a single tube without PAM re-design or costly modified crRNA. Molecular dynamics (MD) simulations indicated that moderate potential energy (PE) variation

Nucleolar buffering of lamina-associated heterochromatin restrains Progerin-induced ageing programs ↗

Nucleolar enlargement is a conserved hallmark of physiological and premature ageing, including Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria Syndrome (HGPS), a disorder caused by LMNA mutations that produce Progerin and profoundly disrupt nuclear architecture. Although both the nuclear lamina and nucleolus organize repressive chromatin, how nucleolar remodelling contributes to genome reorganization during ageing driven by lamina dysfunction remains unclear. Here, we identify the nucleolus as a stress-responsive chromatin-organizing compartment that buffers the initial events of Progerin-induced ageing programs

How to assess evidence about Science

Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
