THE INTERNET IS THINKING
Earlier sources: Science
Science investigates the natural world through observation, experiments, and mathematical models. Explore papers and developments in biology, medicine, materials, neuroscience, physics, climate, and mathematics; a reported finding is not necessarily established consensus.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗1663 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Toward Quantum Software Automation: A Quantum-Aware Harness for LLM-Guided Evolution ↗
Quantum software is critical for improving the efficiency and reliability of scarce quantum hardware. However, its design still relies heavily on ad-hoc, handcrafted heuristics that are often suboptimal and quickly become obsolete as quantum hardware evolves. LLM-guided evolutionary search offers a promising way to automatically explore complex software designs, but existing search frameworks lack the quantum-specific support needed for efficient evolution: verification is expensive, feedback is sparse, and heterogeneous quantum programs require different optimization objectives. In this paper…

Long-term Variations of Cyclone-Influenced Exchange Flows in the Coastal Arctic in 2000-2025 ↗
Summertime synoptic weather regulates Arctic land-ocean exchange through meteorological tides during the ice-free period, when the predominantly easterly regime of the Beaufort High is punctuated by episodic Arctic cyclones, changing coastal winds to westerlies. We analyze wind-driven exchange flows in a northern Alaska lagoon using a 26-year reconstruction (2000-2025) validated by new in situ observations and FVCOM simulations. Phase-space EOF analysis of ERA5 data links deep cyclonic anomalies to 89% of Extreme Eastward Throughflow (EET) events (24 of 27). Coastal easterly occurrence frequen…

OncoCRISPRDB: an integrated platform for CRISPR screening data analysis in cancer research ↗
Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats (CRISPR) screening has become an essential tool for systematically deciphering gene functions in cancer. However, the multidimensional data generated by this approach pose major challenges for data integration and in-depth analysis. The field lacks a platform that can uniformly integrate CRISPR screening resources while also providing customizable analytical workflows. To address this gap, we developed OncoCRISPRDB to enable the systematic integration of CRISPR screening data and support multiscale biological interpretation. To achieve…

Genome-Wide Identification of the Caffeoyl Coenzyme A 3-O-Methyltransferase Family Genes and Their Role in the Lodging Resistance of Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) ↗
As an enzyme, Caffeoyl coenzyme A 3-O-methyltransferase (CCoAOMT) plays a crucial role in lignin synthesis. In this study, we identified 21 TaCCoAOMTs in the wheat genome and, based on phylogenetic analysis, categorized them into four primary groups. TaCCoAOMTs within the same branch exhibited exon–intron structures and motif compositions similar to one another. Collinearity analysis showed that both segmental and tandem duplication contributed to the expansion of the TaCCoAOMT family in wheat. Several cis-elements associated with “growth and development” and “phytohormone response” were found…

NR3C1 Exon 1F Promoter Methylation and mRNA Expression in the Dorsolateral Prefrontal Cortex of Individuals Who Died by Suicide: A Post-Mortem Case–Control Study from Northern Mexico ↗
Background: The glucocorticoid receptor gene (NR3C1) regulates hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal (HPA) axis feedback. Evidence of its epigenetic and transcriptional alterations in suicide remains limited and inconsistent, particularly in underrepresented populations. Methods: We measured regional methylation within the assayed NR3C1 exon 1F promoter region and total NR3C1 mRNA expression in dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (BA9) from 13 suicide cases and 13 non-psychiatric controls from northern Mexico. Groups were frequency-matched by age, sex, and post-mortem interval. Methylation was assessed by…

Clinical outcomes of hyaluronic acid–sorbitol injection in athletes with patellofemoral pain: Evaluation of the potential influence of body mass index ↗
Background Patellofemoral pain (PFP) is a frequent cause of activity-related knee pain and functional limitation in athletic populations. Elevated body mass index (BMI) may contribute to patellofemoral joint loading, but evidence on hyaluronic acid–sorbitol injection outcomes in athletes with elevated BMI remains limited. Objective To describe longitudinal changes in knee function and symptoms over 6 months after intra-articular hyaluronic acid–sorbitol injection in athletes with PFP, and to explore whether baseline BMI was associated with post-injection improvement. Methods This prospective,…

Standardized Research Methodology for Akkermansia muciniphila : Multi‐Omics Integration, Functional Evaluation, and Clinical Translation Pathways ↗
ABSTRACT Background Akkermansia muciniphila has emerged as a leading next‐generation beneficial microbe candidate in gut microbiome research, linked to host metabolic homeostasis, mucosal immune regulation, and intestinal barrier integrity. However, marked methodological heterogeneity in isolation and culture conditions, detection and quantification strategies, functional validation assays, animal models, and clinical evaluation designs undermines reproducibility and constrains clinical translation. Objective This review aims to establish an actionable methodological evaluation and translation…

Malic enzyme 1 is a prognostic factor and a therapeutic target to enhance progestin sensitivity in endometrial cancer ↗
Abstract Purpose Fertility-sparing progestin therapy with medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA) is an important option for young patients with endometrioid endometrial carcinoma (EEC); however, resistance limits its efficacy. Malic enzyme 1 (ME1) provides NADPH for biosynthesis and redox homeostasis, but its roles in EEC and progestin sensitivity remain unclear. We investigated the prognostic significance of ME1 and whether its inhibition enhances MPA sensitivity in EEC. Methods ME1 protein expression was assessed by immunohistochemistry in specimens from 172 patients with EEC and 6 normal endomet…

PIAS1 circRNA-translated novel protein inhibits NF-κB signaling pathway by promoting the nuclear translocation of TAB2 and impedes pyroptosis in colon cancer ↗
Colon cancer (CC) is one of the most prevalent malignant tumors and is associated with a poor prognosis. Pyroptosis plays an important role in colon cancer. However, the specific regulatory mechanisms require further exploration. Previous studies have confirmed the association between PIAS1 and NF-κB signaling pathway. Notably, the link between PIAS1 and pyroptosis has not been reported. Circular non-coding RNAs (circRNAs) play a crucial role in cancer progression and the proteins encoded by circRNAs often substitute for host genes and play a significant role in the progression of cancer. The…

How to assess evidence about Science
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
