Earlier sources: Science
Science investigates the natural world through observation, experiments, and mathematical models. Explore papers and developments in biology, medicine, materials, neuroscience, physics, climate, and mathematics; a reported finding is not necessarily established consensus.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗1668 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

The genome sequence of Carline Thistle, Carlina vulgaris L., 1753 (Asterales: Asteraceae) ↗
We present a genome assembly of Carlina vulgaris (Carline Thistle; Streptophyta; Magnoliopsida; Asterales; Asteraceae). The assembly consists of two haplotypes with total lengths of 3,741.35 megabases and 3,695.98 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (98.7%) is scaffolded into 10 chromosomal pseudomolecules. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome has been assembled, with a length of 326.94 kilobases. Gene annotation of this assembly by Ensembl identified 26,885 protein-coding genes. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces

Image-guided programming improves motor control in chronic subthalamic nucleus deep brain stimulation in Parkinson's disease: A prospective study. ↗
BackgroundImage-guided programming (IGP) enables optimization and personalization of deep brain stimulation (DBS) for patients with Parkinson's disease. Although its role in initial programming has been examined, evidence for its value in chronic stimulation remains limited. We aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of IGP in individuals with Parkinson's disease receiving chronic subthalamic nucleus (STN)-DBS with conventional programming (CP).MethodsWe reviewed optimal stimulation configurations using IGP with STIMVIEW™ XT in 30 patients with PD implanted with directional DB2202 electrodes. APOBEC3 Knockout in Lentiviral Packaging Cells Improves Therapeutic Transgene Sequence Fidelity. ↗
Lentiviral vectors are a well-established method of delivering transgenes into target cells. Lentiviral vectors have a strong efficacy and safety profile, but transgene fidelity remains an area of concern. Loss of function mutations within the integrated transgene may reduce therapeutic efficacy. Gain of function mutations within proto-oncogenic transgenes could cause malignant transformation of the transduced cell. Transgene mutations have long been attributed to reverse transcription errors. However, through deep sequencing of transgenes integrated into CD34+ hematopoietic stem and progenito

Negative and Positive Cascade Rates of Slow Alfvénic Turbulence in Switchback and Non-switchback Intervals: \emph{Wind} Observations ↗
We estimate the turbulent cascade rate in imbalanced Alfvénic turbulence in the slow solar wind using a Politano--Pouquet-based approach that does not require an isotropic assumption. We analyze selected 8-hour intervals provided by \emph{Wind} spacecraft. These intervals are characterized by near-homogeneity, weak velocity shear, and imbalanced Alfvénic fluctuations, and are classified as switchback or non-switchback depending on the angular spread of the magnetic field relative to the mean field. Switchback intervals are identified by large magnetic-field rotations, whereas non-switchback in…

Exact series formulas for the capacities of the amplitude damping channel ↗
We derive explicit, absolutely convergent series formulas for the quantum, unassisted classical, and entanglement-assisted classical capacities of the qubit amplitude damping channel, eliminating residual optimizations and implicit roots. We also obtain analytical upper and lower bounds on two-way assisted quantum and private communication capacities by evaluating a balanced-squashing bound and optimizing the reverse coherent information. Our results characterize the optimal input populations, establish convergence and truncation properties, and provide analytical benchmarks for quantum and cl…

Measurement-Based Uncomputation from an Error Correction Perspective ↗
Coherent uncomputation can be as costly as the computation itself, creating substantial spacetime overheads that can be prohibitive on early fault-tolerant quantum computers. We develop an algebraic framework for measurement-based uncomputation (MBU) through a quantum error-correction picture: measurements of the garbage register induce relative phases analogous to errors causing non-trivial syndromes. Accepting only zero-syndrome outcomes achieves post-selected MBU, removing the need for an uncomputation oracle at the cost of a probabilistic success rate determined by the affine rank of the p…

Exact Characterization of the Holevo Bound by a Quantum Fisher Information Family ↗
The quantum Cramér-Rao bound constrains the precision of parameter estimation through the symmetric logarithmic derivative quantum Fisher information (SLD QFI). It is asymptotically achievable for regular single-parameter estimation models, but generally not in the multiparameter setting, where optimal measurements for different parameters may be incompatible. For multiparameter estimation, allowing collective measurements, the corresponding asymptotically achievable precision limit is the Holevo bound, whose standard formulation is an optimization over auxiliary Hermitian operators. We bridge…

Scalable Hybrid Device Architecture on Thin-Film Lithium Tantalate for Long Distance Quantum Network Nodes with Atomic Frequency Comb Quantum Memories ↗
Scalable photonic circuits are essential for realizing practical quantum networks beyond proof-of-principle demonstrations. Although diamond-based integrated photonics has been extensively investigated over the past two decades for quantum networking applications, its integration into scalable photonic platforms remains challenging. Quantum memories based on rare-earth-ion atomic frequency combs (AFCs) offer an attractive alternative; however, most demonstrations to date have relied on bulk free-space crystals, limiting their scalability for practical implementations. In this work, we systemat…

How to assess evidence about Science
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
