Earlier sources: Science
Science investigates the natural world through observation, experiments, and mathematical models. Explore papers and developments in biology, medicine, materials, neuroscience, physics, climate, and mathematics; a reported finding is not necessarily established consensus.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗1622 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Electron lattice potentials for ultracold atoms using circular Rydberg orbitals ↗
Recent advances in experiments using individually trapped atoms have enabled precise control over circular Rydberg electrons with exceptionally long lifetimes. We show that these giant and stable electron orbits can form toroidal lattice potentials for ultracold atoms with a period set by the electron's de Broglie wavelength. Unlike conventional static optical lattices, this electron lattice is formed via the electron-atom interaction, which mixes Rydberg circular states with opposite azimuthal phase winding into a standing electronic matter wave. The lattice phase is thereby intrinsically cou…

Locality and filter design for dissipative ground-state preparation ↗
Ground-state preparation is a fundamental challenge in quantum many-body physics, chemistry and materials science. Dissipative state-preparation techniques engineer a Lindbladian coupling to a bath that drives the system to its ground state, needing no initial overlap. Their cost is dominated by the Hamiltonian simulations inside the filtered jump operators, since each jump is a weighted sum of Heisenberg-evolved copies, or branches, of a coupling operator. We reduce this cost by following three simple observations to their logical end. First, on a fixed time grid, linear programming optimises…

Steady--State Current Signatures of Strong Light--Matter Coupling in Single--Molecule Junctions ↗
Strong light-matter coupling offers exciting opportunities for controlling molecular properties, yet resolving single-molecule behavior from collective effects remains a challenge. Recent experiments in scanning tunneling microscope break junctions (STM-BJs) have demonstrated strong light-matter coupling at the single-molecule level. Because STM-BJs provide direct access to molecular-junction currents, we investigate whether strong coupling leaves a measurable fingerprint in transport, potentially probing polaritonic states beyond optical spectroscopy. Using a semiclassical mapping approach fo…

Multiphysics Simulation Framework for Continuous Ion Transport and Energetics in Atmospheric Pressure Interfaces ↗
Optimizing atmospheric pressure interfaces requires balancing efficient ion transport with unwanted collision activation. The complex environment at the inlet region, including rapid pressure drops, RF/DC electric fields, ion-gas collisions, and space charge effects, makes simulation of this system challenging. In this work, we introduce MuCITE (Multiphysics simulation for Continuous Ion Transport and Energetics), which combines continuous ion injection, precomputed electric and gas flow fields, and particle-in-cell space charge updates. Furthermore, by employing improved impulsive collision t…

Frequency- and Power-Dependent Optical Response of a Cesium Rydberg Microwave Receiver ↗
We show experimentally obtained frequency- and power-dependent optical response of a room-temperature cesium vapor cell used as a Rydberg microwave receiver based on electromagnetically induced transparency. An applied microwave field couples the ${70S_{1/2}}$ Rydberg state to the nearby ${70P_{1/2}}$, ${70P_{3/2}}$, ${69P_{1/2}}$, and ${69P_{3/2}}$ states, modifying the probe-transmission spectrum. Probe transmission is recorded over a 800 MHz range of coupling laser detunings. These EIT spectra are measured for RF frequencies from 9 to 13.5 GHz and over a 40 dB range of RF power. We analyze…

Chiral Transfer and Entanglement Generation of Even-Parity Bell States with Engineered Two-Photon Loss ↗
We investigate chiral transfer and dissipative generation of even-parity Bell states in a two-qubit system with coherent two-photon driving and engineered two-photon loss. We find that adiabatic encirclement of a second-order exceptional point induces direction-dependent transfer between the Bell states $|Φ^+\rangle$ and $|Φ^-\rangle$, governed by a time-integrated low-loss branch-selection mechanism. We develop a hybrid-Liouvillian description with a control parameter $q$ that interpolates between conditional no-jump dynamics and unconditional Lindblad evolution, and use it to assess how exce…

Purin: A Biology-inspired Mechanism for Artificial Neural Networks ↗
Artificial neural networks (ANNs) usually represent neural transmission with fixed trainable weights during a training batch, which omits short-term changes in synaptic efficacy. In addition, the discrete time-step simulation requires additional temporal processing that many conventional ANN architectures do not use. To overcome these challenges, we propose Purin, a biology-inspired and ANN-compatible mechanism, that introduces synaptic efficacy modulation into conventional convolutional neural networks. Purin uses a time-interval-based abstraction for neural activities, which allows Purin to…

From Image Morphology to Multiphysics Earth Posteriors ↗
Structural learning and physical-property inference can draw on different sources of knowledge. We learn morphology from 33,140 natural, satellite, and texture images, without geological training models, then infer Earth properties from physical observations. Identical frozen weights map 128 coordinates into each $256\times256$ compressional-velocity, shear-velocity, or density field. Fixed adapters assign physical meaning; observation-specific likelihoods determine new posteriors without retraining. Across 256 unseen Earth models, image coordinates reduce projection error fourfold relative to…

Quantum interaction can superactivate cheating under parallel repetition ↗
We study interactive multiprover games and many-round protocols in which the communication between the verifier and the provers is quantum. Parallel repetition is known to suppress soundness error of classical two-prover games arbitrarily close to zero, as shown by Raz (STOC '95), even with quantum strategies as shown by Yuen (ICALP '16), and Bavarian, Vidick and Yuen (STOC '17). Yet, we show that quantum communication can have the opposite, unexpected effect. Specifically, we exhibit a one-round quantum game and two-round $\mathsf{QMIP}$ protocols whose local (unentangled) value is strictly l…

How to assess evidence about Science
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
