Earlier sources: Science

Science investigates the natural world through observation, experiments, and mathematical models. Explore papers and developments in biology, medicine, materials, neuroscience, physics, climate, and mathematics; a reported finding is not necessarily established consensus.

SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.

1680 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.

Earlier sources

Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

    MagiCFirm: A Runtime for Magic-State Cultivation with Algorithm-Hardware Co-Design ↗

Magic-state cultivation offers a promising alternative for lowering the cost of non-Clifford operations in fault-tolerant quantum computing (FTQC). However, realizing cultivation in practice exposes two challenges: (i) the lack of an open-source classical runtime layer between logical software and physical control, and (ii) the latency constraints on protocol-specific decisions that determine magic-state readiness. To address these challenges, we adopt an algorithm--hardware co-design approach. At the algorithm level, we develop a two-stage early-escape scheme that identifies an informative su…

The Uncertainty Principle, Uncertainty Relations, and Underlying Trajectories: Feynman, Nelson, Bohm, and Persistent Kac-Dirac Dynamics ↗

A distinction should be made between quantum uncertainty relations and the broader uncertainty principle. The former are precise statistical consequences of quantum mechanics; the latter, when interpreted as excluding simultaneously definite conjugate variables and particle trajectories, is an additional ontological claim not implied by the uncertainty relations themselves. We examine this distinction using Feynman paths, Nelson's stochastic mechanics, Bohmian mechanics, and finite-speed persistent Kac dynamics. Feynman paths exhibit Brownian-like short-time scaling, while Nelson derives Schrö…

Eigenoperator Entanglement Statistics in Local Lindbladians ↗

Random matrix spectral statistics are widely used to diagnose quantum chaos in open systems, but whether chaotic eigenvalue correlations are accompanied by Haar-typical eigenoperators remains unclear. We study the operator-entanglement statistics of Liouvillian eigenoperators with near-maximal entanglement, analogous to states near the middle of the spectrum in Hamiltonian systems. Using the Kullback-Leibler divergence, we show that Haar-random statistics accurately describe both the Ginibre and class-AI$^\dagger$ Gaussian ensembles. For purely dissipative random Lindbladians, we find that loc…

Representation-Dependent Recoverability in Quantum Compilation ↗

Fault-tolerant compilation can disperse high-level structure: schedules split an accumulated phase across rounds, gate synthesis replaces an angle by a Clifford+$T$ word, and randomized compiling spreads rotations over sign-randomized fragments. They preserve the computation but change how cheaply a downstream compiler can recover the aggregate phase data. We formalize this representation-dependent recoverability by charging two channels: output committed before the suffix arrives, and a serialized restart state crossing the cut. For an $r$-round accumulation of a commuting layer with $m$ gene…

ProteoEM: probabilistic protein abundance estimation from iterative affinity traces ↗

Single-molecule affinity mapping enables molecular-level measurement of proteins and proteoforms, but imperfect and nonspecific probe binding makes individual affinity traces compatible with multiple molecular identities. Accurate abundance estimation therefore requires apportionment of ambiguous traces by weight rather than assignment to a single candidate. We developed ProteoEM, an expectation-maximization framework for weighted proteoform quantification, inspired by transcript abundance estimation methods for RNA sequencing and released as an open-source Python package. ProteoEM evaluates e…

Amplified Memory and Finite-Time Regularity in Driven Non-Hermitian Systems ↗

We study the roles of broken spectra and exceptional points in finite-time driven non-Hermitian fermionic dynamics. We compute the Nambu biorthogonal correlation matrix for this purpose. The imbalanced-pairing Kitaev chain serves as our concrete realization. Transient passage through a broken-spectrum region amplifies preparation memory. The effect survives when the final Hamiltonian returns to a real-spectrum regime. Negative imbalance forces spectral nonpositivity in the static endpoint state. We isolate the genuine drive history by subtracting out this baseline, leaving an excess that is st…

Evaluation-efficient quantum architecture search with ZX-calculus-based topological reuse ↗

Variational quantum algorithm is a leading approach for quantum chemistry and many-body physics on noisy intermediate-scale quantum devices. The performance depends strongly on the structure of the parameterized quantum circuits. Quantum architecture search (QAS) can automate ansatz design. However, it requires repeated training and evaluation of many candidate circuits, leading to high evaluation cost. In this work, we propose a noise-aware quantum architecture search framework based on ZX-calculus topological reuse (ZX-QAS). The framework encodes the search space with a ternary Gray-code map…

Generative Atmospheric Super-Resolution from Heterogeneous In Situ Observations through Composable Interfaces ↗

Atmospheric observations are sparse, heterogeneous, and unevenly distributed, whereas many generative atmospheric models learn distributions over regularly gridded multivariate states. Once pretrained, diffusion models can supply atmospheric priors that can be combined with observation-derived likelihood factors in a Bayesian formulation. However, these observation sources differ substantially in geometry and sampling density, complicating the consistent use of their observations within a common inference framework. Here, we formulate this reconstruction problem as generative atmospheric super…

How to assess evidence about Science

Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
