THE INTERNET IS THINKING
Earlier sources: Science
Science investigates the natural world through observation, experiments, and mathematical models. Explore papers and developments in biology, medicine, materials, neuroscience, physics, climate, and mathematics; a reported finding is not necessarily established consensus.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗1706 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Nonlinear Dose–Response Association Between Exercise Intensity and Urinary Liver-Type Fatty Acid-Binding Protein in Young Men: A Piecewise Threshold Analysis ↗
High-intensity physical exercise can induce temporary renal hemodynamic strain and subclinical tubular injury, yet the exact dose–response relationship remains poorly defined. This study investigated the relationship between exercise intensity and urinary liver-type fatty acid-binding protein (L-FABP) concentrations, a sensitive marker of proximal tubular stress, to identify an exploratory intensity threshold. We conducted an observational cohort study of 285 healthy young men undergoing a routine 20 min physical training session. Exercise intensity was quantified as metabolic equivalents of t…

Research and Experimental Evaluation of an Electric-Drive Maize Precision Seeding System Integrating Physics-Informed Neural Networks and PID Control ↗
To address the problem of decreased rotational speed tracking accuracy of the seeding motor caused by system nonlinearity, time-varying parameters, and field disturbances during high-speed electric-driven precision seeding, a PINN-PID control method was proposed. First, the kinematic relationship among operating speed, target plant spacing, and seeding motor rotational speed was established, and a motor dynamics model was constructed. Subsequently, the data supervision error, seeding kinematic residual, motor dynamics residual, and smoothness constraint were jointly embedded into the neural ne…

DNA Methylation Alterations in Patients with Moderate-to-Severe Thyroid Eye Disease Treated with Intravenous Glucocorticoids ↗
Background/Objectives: Genome-wide epigenetic alterations in thyroid eye disease (TED) remain insufficiently characterized, particularly in the context of intravenous glucocorticoid (ivGC) therapy. We aimed to characterize genome-wide DNA methylation (DNAm) alterations in patients with active, moderate-to-severe TED and assess differences in DNAm patterns observed following ivGC therapy and in relation to clinical response. Methods: We enrolled 24 euthyroid patients with moderate-to-severe TED and 7 healthy controls (HC). Peripheral whole-blood DNAm profiling was performed using reduced repres…

Sphingolipid Metabolism in Bone Homeostasis: From Mechanisms and Functional Insights to Clinical Implications ↗
Bone homeostasis is a dynamic process governed by the balanced activity of osteoblasts and osteoclasts, tightly regulated through complex signaling networks. Emerging evidence highlights sphingolipid metabolism as a critical modulator of skeletal integrity, influencing bone remodeling in both health and disease. Each individual step, however, appears to have a unique role in these processes, with some overlap in function that is not well understood yet. This review explores the interplay between sphingolipid metabolism and bone homeostasis. It provides a comprehensive overview of the diverse r…

Gut microbiome shifts in chronic systolic heart failure are associated with disease severity and clinical improvement ↗
Abstract The contribution of the gut microbiome to chronic heart failure (HF) remains poorly defined. We performed integrated microbiome and host multi-omic profiling of adults with chronic systolic HF due to nonischemic cardiomyopathy ( n = 59) and healthy participants ( n = 50), including longitudinal sampling in some cases. Here we show that patients with HF have depletion of anti-inflammatory Bifidobacterium and reduced short-chain fatty acid biosynthetic potential, alongside altered microbiome–immune system interactions. Longitudinal analysis revealed that higher Bifidobacterium abundance…

Lipid Nanoparticle Surface Engineering with Heparosan Polysaccharides Enhances mRNA Efficacy via Reduced Endosomal Retention ↗
Abstract In this study, we developed a library of mRNA lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) containing clinically used ionizable lipids. We surface-modified these nanoparticles with heparosan polysaccharides and systematically compared their performance with conventional poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG)-modified formulations. Our heparosan (HEP)-coated LNPs increased mRNA expression in dendritic and macrophage cell lines by up to ∼10-fold. Mechanistic studies using live-cell imaging and intracellular nanoparticle trafficking analysis revealed that HEP-modified LNPs exhibited reduced colocalization with late…

Physics informed muon scattering tomography with momentum integration for nonintrusive monitoring of microreactor cores ↗
Abstract Next-generation microreactors enable remote deployment and semi-autonomous operation, but compact, sealed, heterogeneous cores limit conventional safeguard approaches that rely on access and bulk accountancy. Limited inspection access and complex internal geometry reduce sensitivity to localized anomalies such as missing fuel. Here we demonstrate missing-fuel detection in microreactor scale geometries using muon scattering tomography under realistic cosmic-ray conditions. We introduce $$\mu$$ TRec, a physics-informed framework that reconstructs event-level curved muon trajectories by…

Physics-guided attention neural network for interpretable and robust photovoltaic fault classification with strict external validation ↗
Accurate and interpretable fault diagnosis in photovoltaic (PV) systems is essential for improving operational reliability and reducing energy losses. This study proposes a Physics-Guided Attention Neural Network (PGANN) for three-class PV fault classification, including Open-circuit, Short-circuit, and Partial Shading conditions. The proposed framework integrates physics-guided feature engineering into the input representation through calculated power, power error, and normalized voltage ratio, thereby embedding electrical-domain knowledge without imposing unstable physics-based penalty terms…

Conspicuity and characterization of pre-selected hypodense hepatic lesions in pancreatic cancer patients: limited clinical value of dual-energy portal phase CT ↗
PURPOSE: To assess the impact of 50-keV virtual monoenergetic images (VMIs) and iodine metrics on conspicuity and characterization of hypodense hepatic lesions in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) patients undergoing dual-energy portal phase CT. METHODS: Consecutive patients with hypodense hepatic lesions who underwent dual-energy portal phase CT between January and December 2025 were retrospectively identified. Lesions were pre-selected by a resident. Two radiologists independently evaluated blended and 50-keV VMIs for lesion conspicuity and confidence for metastasis using 5-point Liker…

How to assess evidence about Science
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
