Earlier sources: Science
Science investigates the natural world through observation, experiments, and mathematical models. Explore papers and developments in biology, medicine, materials, neuroscience, physics, climate, and mathematics; a reported finding is not necessarily established consensus.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗1306 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

A Multi-Kinase Inhibitor Screen Identifies mTOR Signaling as a Vulnerability in Advanced Prostate Cancer. ↗
The receptor tyrosine kinase AXL has context-dependent roles in prostate cancer (PCa). Although AXL signaling has been implicated in PCa progression, it can also promote disseminated tumor cell dormancy. Paradoxically, AXL expression has been reported to be lost in metastatic PCa. This raises two critical questions: Is AXL loss associated with aggressive disease, and does it create therapeutically exploitable vulnerabilities? In this study, we comprehensively analyzed AXL expression across pan-cancer and PCa cohorts and found that AXL downregulation was significantly associated with treatment

Genomic Insights into the Decline and Resilience of European Grayling in Switzerland ↗
Freshwater ecosystems are among the most threatened globally, with habitat fragmentation, hydropower development, pollution, climate change, and long-term stocking practices reshaping connectivity and evolutionary processes in freshwater fishes. Grayling (Thymallus), a cold-adapted genus, is particularly sensitive to these pressures due to its strong habitat and temperature requirements. Here, we used whole-genome resequencing to investigate genomic variation across 179 wild-caught and 34 hatchery-based graylings, sampled throughout Switzerland, spanning the Rhine, Rhone, Danube, and Po catchm

Collaborative Neural Networks significantly Improve Global Aerosol Retrievals From Multi-Angle Polarimeters ↗
We present the RemoTAP-Hybrid algorithm for global aerosol products retrieved from Multi-Angle Polarimeters (MAP), and apply it to one-year aerosol retrievals from the SPEXone MAP instrument. For the first time, Multiple Collaborated Neural Networks (MCNN) are used to perform global aerosol MAP retrievals over land and ocean. The combined use of MCNN with a full physics inversion in RemoTAP-Hybrid, significantly improves accuracy and computational speed of SPEXone aerosol retrievals. We validate the retrieved Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD), Angstrom Exponent (AE), Single Scattering Albedo (SSA),…

Simulations of the Evolving Ozone Layer: Implications for the Early Earth, Exoplanets, and the Search For Life ↗
Over 4 billion years, Earth's atmosphere has been transformed from a composition devoid of molecular oxygen (O$_2$) to one where O$_2$ is now 21% of our modern atmosphere by volume. With high quantities of O$_2$, an ozone (O$_3$) layer can form and partially shield the surface from biologically harmful ultraviolet radiation (UV). The evolution of the O$_3$ layer has previously been simulated under the modern Sun by independent groups with separate models. Here, we present simulations of Earth's atmosphere from four open-source one-dimensional (1D) photochemical models and a 3D chemistry-climat…

MFG: Multi-turn Feedback Guided Molecular Optimization ↗
Multi-objective molecular optimization is a critical process in drug discovery that aims to modify a given molecule to simultaneously improve multiple properties while maintaining a similar overall structure. This process often requires iterative modifications guided by computational or experimental feedback. Recent large language model (LLM)-based methods have begun to explore this iterative approach; however, these methods are not explicitly trained to leverage such feedback, while existing approaches primarily focus on single-turn molecular optimization. To address this gap, we introduce Mu…

Gaussian entanglement and quantum communication: geodesic optimization and multimode bounds ↗
Loss and noise limit the use of light to distribute entanglement, transmit quantum information, and establish secret keys. Gaussian states have a compact description in terms of means and covariance matrices, but their entanglement still requires global optimization. We develop a framework for computing Gaussian-restricted versions of the relative entropy of entanglement and Rains entanglement. An integral representation reveals a convex geometry under matrix geometric means and reduces Gaussian Rains entanglement to relative entropy minimized over Gaussian states with positive partial transpo…

Joint Neural Posterior Estimation and Model Selection for Chemical Reaction Networks ↗
Simulation-based Bayesian inference for Chemical Reaction Networks (CRNs) must simultaneously solve two computationally demanding problems: discriminating between overlapping reaction pathways and estimating reaction rate constants. Classical approaches, such as Sequential Monte Carlo ABC, rely on handcrafted summary statistics and scale poorly across large parameter spaces. To overcome this, we introduce a neural inference architecture. Our pipeline utilizes shared 1D-CNNs and a permutation-invariant Set Attention mechanism to learn low-dimensional summary statistics from variable-length, mul…

On the coincidence of discrete and continuous definitions of Entanglement of Formation ↗
It is proved that every Borel ensemble of pure states on a separable bipartite Hilbert space with finite average entanglement admits a countable ensemble with the same barycenter and arbitrarily small additional average entanglement. Consequently, the discrete and continuous versions of the Entanglement of Formation coincide on the whole space of states of infinite-dimensional bipartite quantum system (with infinite values allowed). The main idea of the proof (realized with the AI-assistance) is the identification of a Borel ensemble of pure bipartite states with a Borel probability measure on…

How to assess evidence about Science
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
