Earlier sources: Science
Science investigates the natural world through observation, experiments, and mathematical models. Explore papers and developments in biology, medicine, materials, neuroscience, physics, climate, and mathematics; a reported finding is not necessarily established consensus.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗1322 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Immunoinformatics design and in vitro evaluation of dendritic cell-targeting brucellosis multi-epitope vaccine based on Omp28 and GroEL ↗
Brucellosis is a zoonotic infectious disease caused by bacteria of the genus Brucella, with an estimated global annual incidence of approximately 2.1 million cases. Currently, there is no safe and effective human vaccine available. Utilizing a reverse vaccinology strategy, this study screened 16 cytotoxic T lymphocyte epitopes, 10 helper T lymphocyte epitopes, and 3 B cell epitopes derived from Brucella Omp28 and GroEL proteins. These epitopes were fused with a dendritic cell-targeting peptide to design a stable, hydrophilic, non-toxic, and non-allergenic multi-epitope vaccine. Molecular docki…

Dynamics of bicoid mRNA localisation and translation dictate morphogen gradient formation ↗
The transcription factor Bicoid (Bcd) protein guides early Drosophila patterning and is the best-characterised morphogen. The source of the morphogen, bcd mRNA, is maternally deposited during oogenesis and localised to the anterior pole. When and where Bcd protein is produced and how this protein gradient is dynamically shaped remains contentious. Here, we use the SunTag reporter system to quantitatively examine the spatiotemporal profile of bcd mRNA translation in vivo. We show that association with Processing bodies (P bodies) in mature oocytes prevent premature bcd mRNA translation. Followi…

Regulated Cell Death in Reproductive Biology: Mechanisms and Therapeutic Opportunities ↗
Regulated cell death (RCD) has emerged as a fundamental determinant of cellular homeostasis and tissue remodeling, extending far beyond the classical concept of apoptosis. The identification of emerging RCD pathways, including ferroptosis, pyroptosis, necroptosis, cuproptosis, PANoptosis, and autophagy-dependent cell death, has expanded our understanding of reproductive physiology and disease. RCD mechanisms contribute to reproductive homeostasis and have been increasingly implicated in gametogenesis, folliculogenesis, embryonic development, implantation, placentation, and reproductive aging,…

Robust collapse prediction for corroded subsea pipelines under multiaxial loading: A physics-informed Bayesian framework constrained by symbolic regression ↗
Subsea pipeline collapse under multiaxial loads and corrosion severely threatens offshore structural integrity. This study introduces an integrated FE-SR-PINN-BNN framework, combining detailed 3D finite element (FE) numerical modeling in ABAQUS with a physics-informed Bayesian neural network (PINN-BNN) constrained by symbolic regression (SR). Explicit algebraic expressions of underlying mechanical mechanisms derived via SR are embedded into the PINN-BNN loss function as structural physics constraints. Numerical results show that the proposed model achieves a high coefficient of determination (…

Priming of human iPSCs with doxorubicin causes genome-wide transcriptional reprogramming and functional impairments in iPSC-derived cardiomyocytes ↗
Abstract How Doxorubicin (Dox) mediated damage to stem cells or cardiomyocytes contributes to cardiotoxicity and cardiac regeneration is unclear. Using a human iPSC-based model together with corresponding iPSC-derived cardiomyocytes (iCMs) revealed that iPSCs are much more sensitive against single short pulse-treatments with Dox than iCMs. Major mitochondrial impairments such as increased mitochondrial fragmentation, loss of mitochondrial membrane potential, reduced ATP levels, and altered mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) organization, yet neither increased ROS formation, nuclear DNA damage response,…

Modular multifunctional 5HP2O linkers for the versatile assembly of protein-oligonucleotide conjugates ↗
Abstract As complex biotherapeutics continue to evolve, the demand for single-site, multi-functionalized protein conjugates intensifies. Current methods often suffer from maleimide-related hydrolytic instability or require multi-step invasive protein modifications. Here, we establish 5-hydroxy-1,5-dihydro-2H-pyrrol-2-ones (5HP2O) as modular, hydrolytically stable hubs for assembling multi-functional protein-oligonucleotide conjugates (POCs). Synthesized via one-pot photooxidation of 2-substituted furans, these linkers incorporate tunable spacers, 5HP2O Michael acceptor, a NHS active ester and…

Effects of Pharmacologically Induced Hyper-Protein O-GlcNAcylation on the Heart Transcriptome ↗
Background/Objectives: O-GlcNAcylation is a post-translational modification affecting diverse cell functions, including transcriptional regulation. Aberrant levels of protein O-GlcNAcylation have been observed in neurodegenerative and cardiovascular diseases. We have previously demonstrated that systemic elevation of protein O-GlcNAcylation significantly impacted the brain transcriptome. Method: In the current study, we investigated the impact of acute inhibition of O-GlcNAcase (OGA), the enzyme that removes O-GlcNAc modification from proteins using a pharmacological inhibitor, on the heart tr…

Mathematics-driven state monitoring and tampering defense for a hierarchical heterogeneous UAV swarm communication system ↗
State monitoring and data integrity are essential for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) swarm communication systems in low-altitude remote auto-operation systems (LA-RAOSs). This study proposes a mathematics-driven hierarchical heterogeneous network (MD-HHNet) framework for state monitoring, fault localization, and timing-based tampering defense. A linearly coupled state generation model represents the propagation and aggregation of node information, while a non-stationarity (NS) measure characterizes changes caused by communication link faults. Observation nodes are selected using predefined faul…

Sequence-Conditioned Physics-Informed Neural Network for Lithium-Ion Battery State of Health Estimation Using Charging Segments at High State of Charge ↗
Accurate and reliable state of health (SOH) estimation is essential for lithium-ion battery safety and lifetime management. Physics-informed neural networks (PINNs) integrate battery degradation knowledge with deep learning to improve the physical consistency of SOH estimation. However, existing PINNs insufficiently capture degradation evolution across consecutive cycles and show limited applicability across battery chemistries and charge/discharge protocols. To address these issues, we propose a sequence-conditioned physics-informed neural network (SC-PINN) that uses a gated recurrent unit (G…
