Earlier sources: Science
Science investigates the natural world through observation, experiments, and mathematical models. Explore papers and developments in biology, medicine, materials, neuroscience, physics, climate, and mathematics; a reported finding is not necessarily established consensus.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗1314 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Microbiota–Gut–Brain Axis Interactions with CNS Drugs: A Critical Mechanistic Review of Biopharmaceutical, Pharmacokinetic, and Pharmacodynamic Evidence ↗
Background/Objectives: The microbiota–gut–brain axis (MGBA) modifies central nervous system (CNS) pharmacotherapy by influencing the biopharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics (PK), and pharmacodynamics (PD) of drugs, while CNS drugs reciprocally reshape the MGBA. This review examines these interactions and their clinical relevance, explicitly grading the strength of the evidence. Methods: This narrative, mechanistically oriented review focuses on four oral drugs representing distinct mechanistic archetypes: levodopa/carbidopa (biopharmaceutical-dominant), olanzapine (PK-dominant), sertraline (PD-domi…

Hepatic manifestations of ciliopathies: genetic causes and clinical update ↗
Ciliopathies are genetically heterogeneous disorders of primary cilia that frequently involve the liver in childhood, producing a spectrum of hepatobiliary pathology. Primary cilia on cholangiocytes and hepatic progenitors are mechano-, chemo-, and osmo-sensors essential for remodelling of the ductal plate, the embryologic precursor of the liver's intrahepatic bile duct system. Disruption of the components of primary cilia (basal body, intraflagellar transport (IFT), transition-zone, trafficking, and endoplasmic reticulum (ER)/Golgi protein homeostasis components) leads to ductal plate malform…

The genome sequence of Musk Stork’s-bill, Erodium moschatum (L. L’Her., 1789) (Geraniales: Geraniaceae) ↗
We present a genome assembly of Erodium moschatum (Musk Stork’s-bill; Streptophyta; Magnoliopsida; Geraniales; Geraniaceae). The assembly consists of two haplotypes with total lengths of 760.61 megabases and 753.14 megabases. Most of the haplotype 1 assembly (98.73%) was scaffolded into 10 chromosomal pseudomolecules. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial sequences have lengths of 71.6, 42.04, 28.57, 55.48 and 26.56 kilobases and the plastid genome assembly has a length of 118.99 kilobases. Gene annotation of this assembly by Ensembl identified 32,084 protein-coding ge…

ATM promotes nucleolytic processing of reversed replication forks during DNA interstrand cross-link repair ↗
During replication-coupled DNA interstrand cross-link (ICL) repair, fork reversal is thought to enable the Fanconi anemia (FA) pathway to resolve the ICL through nucleolytic incisions. The resulting regressed arm of the reversed fork undergoes extensive nucleolytic resection that may facilitate completion of replication. Despite the importance of these remodeling events, their regulation remains poorly understood. Here, we use cell-free Xenopus egg extracts and human cells to investigate reversed fork processing during ICL repair by the FA pathway. We find that the ataxia-telangiectasia mutate…

Antisense oligonucleotides targeting transcription termination windows disrupt mRNA 3’ end processing and decrease gene expression ↗
Antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs) are short, synthetic nucleic acids that bind to complementary RNA sequences and alter gene expression, making them versatile therapeutic agents. Here, we identify transcription termination windows of protein-coding genes as previously unrecognised targets for ASOs. We show that ASOs can act on nascent RNA synthesised downstream of the annotated genes, leading to a pronounced decrease in the corresponding mRNA levels. These downstream of gene ASOs (DG-ASOs) induce RNase H1-dependent cleavage, impairing mRNA 3’ end processing, directing the unprocessed mRNAs for…

Quantum Fisher information and photon statistics from shift current shot noise ↗
Quantum Fisher information (QFI) sets the ultimate precision of optical phase measurements and can reveal multiphoton entanglement. Yet the photon-number fluctuations that encode this sensitivity are difficult to convert into an electrical signal. We theoretically predict that a photodetector utilizing the shot noise of the quantum-geometric shift current of exciton polaritons can measure photon-number statistics and, for pure states, infer the QFI. By solving the Lindblad equation, we obtain the time-dependent nonlinear photocurrent for an arbitrary initial photon state. It turns out that, re…

IL-FormAI: A machine learning-guided framework for screening mRNA-LNP formulations toward improved in vivo expression ↗
The mRNA delivery efficiency of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) is governed by the chemical structure of ionizable lipid (IL) and formulation. Appropriate formulation optimization may help realize the delivery potential of IL, but current formulation screening methods for newly designed ILs still rely on wet-lab experiments by trial and error. Here, we present IL-FormAI, a machine learning-guided formulation optimization framework that rapidly generates candidate LNP formulations for ionizable lipids with diverse chemical structures. Briefly, we first set up an expanding database containing IL stru…

MPDD: A Curated Database Bridging Membrane Protein-Drug-Disease Landscapes ↗
Abstract Membrane proteins (MPs) are vital drug targets, yet existing resources are fragmented across structural, pharmacological, and disease domains, limiting integrated exploration. To address this, we developed the Membrane Protein-Drug-Disease (MPDD) Database (https://chemyang.ccnu.edu.cn/ccb/server/MPDD/), a curated platform explicitly linking MPs, drugs, and diseases. MPDD currently includes 1523 MP targets, 589 diseases, and 18,489 drugs. It offers multi-dimensional query tools, interactive classification trees, drug property analysis, BLAST search, and co-target network visualization.…

CRISPR-enhanced microalgae for carbon sequestration and carotenoid production: opportunities and fundamental constraints ↗
Microalgae represent a promising biological platform for CO2 sequestration and the sustainable production of high-value metabolites, particularly carotenoids such as lutein and astaxanthin. However, industrial performance remains constrained by low carbon conversion efficiency, reduced photosynthetic performance, and competing metabolic fluxes that limit product yield. The emergence of CRISPR/Cas-based genome engineering has enabled precise and multiplexed modulation of microalgal metabolic networks, offering new opportunities to overcome these limitations. This review critically evaluates CRI…

A Physics-Informed Temporal Convolutional Network for Joint Fault Diagnosis and Calibrated Severity Estimation in Induction Motors Through Motor Current Signature Analysis ↗
Motor current signature analysis (MCSA) enables non-invasive condition monitoring of three-phase induction motors, but most published studies use short laboratory records with artificially seeded faults and report only a discrete fault label without any measure of confidence. This paper proposes a physics-informed temporal convolutional network (PI-TCN) that is trained and tested on 12 months of stator-current records measured on a 90 kW industrial induction motor in service. Fault labels were assigned retrospectively by aligning the recordings with documented maintenance interventions. From e…

How to assess evidence about Science
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
