Earlier sources: Science
Science investigates the natural world through observation, experiments, and mathematical models. Explore papers and developments in biology, medicine, materials, neuroscience, physics, climate, and mathematics; a reported finding is not necessarily established consensus.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗1350 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Mutually unbiased bases: common states, completion, and extension obstructions ↗
Which pure states give uniform outcomes in several mutually unbiased measurements, and when can they form another measurement basis? We distinguish common unbiased states, their orthonormal completion, and further extension. For a displayed phase-deformed Fourier pair in dimension $2m$, a clock symmetry and skew antiunitary complete every prescribed common unbiased state to an explicit orthonormal basis. In dimension six, an amplitude-profile obstruction proves strong unextendibility of a given mutually unbiased triple when its original third-basis rays are invariant under the ternary clock. W…

Large-Scale Benchmarking of Quantum Neural Network Configurations for Financial Time Series Forecasting ↗
Quantum machine learning, and quantum neural networks (QNNs) in particular, are advancing fields with growing potential. Although systematic comparisons of QNN configurations have been explored primarily for classification tasks, comparatively little attention has been given to regression problems, particularly financial time series forecasting. This study presents a large-scale systematic comparative evaluation of QNN component configurations for financial time series forecasting, using the GBP/USD spot exchange rate as a case study. A grid search across encoding methods, ansatz designs, qubi…

The Imaginary Component of the Weak Momentum: Spectral Vanishing and Gauge Invariance ↗
We establish a rigorous functional-analytic framework for the imaginary component $p_I$ of the complex weak momentum $p_Q = p_R + ip_I = \frac{\hbar}{i}\nabla\lnψ$. For every wavefunction in the Sobolev space $H^1(Ω)$, including those with nodal sets, we prove that the expectation value of $p_I$ vanishes identically, as a consequence of the regularity of $ρ= |ψ|^2$ and without appeal to the polar form $ψ= Re^{iS/\hbar}$. We further show that \textnormal{(i)} the Bohm quantum potential arises entirely from $p_I$ and satisfies $\langle V_{\mathrm{qu}}\rangle = \langle p_I^2\rangle/2m$, from whic…

Nearly Optimal T-Count for Symmetry-Based Quantum State Purification ↗
Protecting quantum information from noise is essential for reliable quantum computation and quantum memories. Quantum state purification addresses this challenge by processing multiple noisy copies of an unknown quantum state to produce an output state of higher fidelity. Here we establish nearly tight upper and lower bounds on the non-Clifford resources required to implement the symmetric-projection purification protocol. For $n$ copies of a $d$-dimensional system, we construct a Clifford+T circuit that block-encodes the symmetric projector with operator-norm error at most $ε$ using $\widetil…

A deterministic polynomial chaos Galerkin method for non-Markovian quantum state diffusion ↗
Developing general-purpose numerical methods for non-Markovian quantum state diffusion has long been a challenge in the simulation of open quantum systems. This paper proposes a deterministic polynomial chaos Galerkin method, which is easy to implement, accurate, and efficient. By combining a low-rank decomposition of bath correlations with Galerkin projection onto a polynomial chaos basis, the method yields a deterministic formulation compatible with standard numerical solvers for partial differential equations. The reduced density matrix is obtained from a single deterministic solve at a cos…

Compressional heating above 1 keV on the LM26 magnetized target fusion machine ↗
The LM26 device has achieved a peak electron temperature of $T_e = 1180 \pm 65$ eV as measured by filtered X-ray diodes, supported by adjacent Thomson scattering measurements of $T_e = 1090 \pm 40$ eV, with a deuterium ion temperature of $T_i = 459 \pm 33$ eV as inferred from neutron yield. LM26 compresses a spherical tokamak plasma inside an initially 1.76 m diameter solid lithium liner imploded by theta-pinch coils. Radial compression by a factor of 2.75 increases $T_e$ over fivefold, while $T_i$ increases as much as twofold. The integrated observation of magnetic flux compression, electron…

legoESM: a modular, differentiable, multiscale, AI-ready Earth system model built with AI agents ↗
Earth system models (ESMs) have grown tremendously in realism, yet key uncertainties persist in the climate response to greenhouse-gas forcing, particularly due to cloud radiative feedbacks. In addition, their software architecture was not designed for accelerator hardware or modern artificial intelligence (AI). Here we present legoESM, a composable, differentiable, multiscale ESM written in JAX. It builds on decades of community-developed parameterizations and numerical methods, recast in a unified framework by AI coding agents under a human-specified scientific contract and verified through…

Imaging ablator-fuel mix of hot spot in inertial confinement fusion via resonant X-ray absorption using an X-ray free electron laser ↗
A novel diagnostic is proposed for active probing of doped inertial confinement fusion (ICF) spherical shells, enabling direct measurements of mix and burn dynamics at next-generation implosion facilities via resonant absorption imaging with an X-ray free-electron laser (XFEL). The charge-state-sensitive imaging of embedded dopants provides spatiotemporally resolved constraints on ionization, opacity, and material mix seeded by hydrodynamic instabilities in stagnated plasmas. Proof-of-principle experiments demonstrating resonant XFEL probing of hot spot in coated copper wires driven by an ultr…

How to assess evidence about Science
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
