Earlier sources: Science
Science investigates the natural world through observation, experiments, and mathematical models. Explore papers and developments in biology, medicine, materials, neuroscience, physics, climate, and mathematics; a reported finding is not necessarily established consensus.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗1339 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Black hole radial geometry from a quantum spin chain ↗
We show that the radial differential equation for a scalar field in an anti-de Sitter black brane background can be encoded in an exactly solvable semi-infinite spin chain independent of dimensionality. The radial coordinate emerges as lattice quasimomentum. Spin coherence encodes the geometry, while the spectrum and response recover gravitational observables and yield exact screening-mass sum rules. We implement the finite chain on a superconducting processor. At finite filling and low energies, the model yields a conformal field theory in a coordinate proportional to proper radial distance.

Taxonomic Classification with Complete Tag Arrays ↗
Taxonomic classifiers such as Kraken assign each $k$-mer of a reference database to the lowest common ancestor (LCA) of the genomes containing it, but this works less well as databases grow, because more and more $k$-mers are shared across species. Cliffy (Ahmed, Boucher and Langmead, 2025) instead uses variable-length exact matches found with an r-index, and can list approximately the genera containing each match; on 16S rRNA it is more accurate than Kraken~2, but its index is large and expensive to build. We present KATKA, which finds the maximal exact matches (MEMs) of at least a given leng…

Standard estimators cannot represent fault-tolerant workloads at measured error rates: evaluated, evidence-based uncertainty for quantum resource estimation ↗
Estimates of the quantum resources needed to run fault-tolerant algorithms are almost always reported as single numbers, even though they rest on uncertain hardware parameters and on cost models that disagree. We present an open, tool-agnostic framework that propagates evidence-based priors over fault-tolerant hardware parameters through five surface-code cost models, adds correlated-input sensitivity analysis, and evaluates the resulting intervals with a pre-registered three-layer protocol. Applied to RSA-2048, ECC-256, AES-256, and a Hubbard-model simulation on a superconducting surface-code…

Truecell reproduces R Seurat's single-cell analysis outputs natively in the Python ecosystem ↗
Single-cell RNA-sequencing analyses predominantly use either Seurat (R) or Scanpy (Python), with the choice often driven by programming language preference. However, by default, these tools produce divergent variable features, neighbour graphs, clusters, and marker genes. Laboratories requiring Python, which supports most deep-learning, foundation-model, and agent tools, must re-implement Seurat analyses in a framework that does not replicate Seurat's results. Truecell was developed as a Python implementation of the Seurat interface, preserving function names, arguments, default settings, and…

From a Hierarchy of Stochastic Differential Equations to a Hierarchy of Generalized Beta Distributions ↗
We introduce a mean-reverting stochastic differential equation with a three-component stochastic term and show that it generates a hierarchy of steady-state (stationary) distributions. At the top level, the hierarchy is described by a modified-Beta distribution, while one- and two-parameter reductions produce compact-support, power-law-tailed, and exponential-type limiting families within a single stochastic framework. We then construct two generalized extensions of this hierarchy. In the first, the power transformation is applied directly at the level of the stochastic differential equation;…

Label-free cell counting and viability prediction with brightfield imaging and deep learning ↗
Cell viability assessment is a core requirement in cell culture systems, with critical applications in biopharmaceutical manufacturing and drug development. Conventionally, it is measured by adding membrane-impermeable dyes to a sample (a process called staining), which allows compromised cell membranes to be distinguished from intact ones. However, staining has several limitations: (a) chemical agents can perturb normal cellular processes of the cells being measured, (b) it is often ambiguous to assign viability to individual cells whose membrane integrity is only partially compromised. (c) p…

Optimized discrete Wigner representations and non-stabilizerness in qubit systems ↗
The apparent absence of a stabilizer-speci?c phase-space description for qubit systems is not fundamental, but arises from ?xing a state-independent discrete Wigner map. Allowing the phase-space representation to adapt to the state through a simple optimization procedure, we prove that every qubit stabilizer state admits an exact delta-function discrete Wigner representation for any ?xed phase-space partition. This optimization can be implemented directly at the level of measurement statistics by selecting maximal probabilities across mutually unbiased bases forming the partition. This constru…

Dynamically protected erasure qubit via low-frequency charge driving ↗
Dynamical protection via strong driving can enable resilient quantum processing on imperfect physical hardware. However, the practical utility of such schemes is frequently limited by parasitic processes such as drive-induced dephasing and leakage. Here, we demonstrate that sub-GHz charge driving of superconducting Kerr oscillators (KOs) in the transmon regime circumvents this trade-off, simultaneously activating fast parametric interactions and protecting the encoded qubit from low-frequency noise. The key is the frequency dependence of the charge sensitivity: using the AC Stark shift as a pr…

Conditional Flow Matching for Generation of 3D Multi-variable Instantaneous Urban Microclimate Fields ↗
Rapid and accurate prediction of urban wind and temperature fields is important for urban microclimate design and climate adaptation. Large-eddy simulation (LES) effectively resolves these instantaneous fields, but its application is limited in iterative design of urban microclimate applications due to high computational cost. Existing regressive data-driven models offers quick outputs, but they produce only deterministic point predictions that inherently fail to represent turbulent stochasticity. This paper adopts a novel generative framework of Conditional Flow Matching (CFM) that uses build…

Design-Time Conformance Checking for Pulse-Level Quantum Control ↗
A pulse-level quantum control program is written against a device whose limits are recorded, if at all, in vendor documentation and source code. A program that exceeds them can be refused at compile time. It can also be accepted and silently altered, or compile and then fail at the board. In the last two cases the experiment runs, and the data does not correspond to the program that was written. We present qconform, a checker that decides whether a pulse program is realizable on a device, given a versioned capability descriptor for that device. Every constraint in a descriptor cites the toolch…

How to assess evidence about Science
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
