THE INTERNET IS THINKING

Earlier sources: Science

Science investigates the natural world through observation, experiments, and mathematical models. Explore papers and developments in biology, medicine, materials, neuroscience, physics, climate, and mathematics; a reported finding is not necessarily established consensus.

SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.

1334 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.

Earlier sources

Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Relative-Entropy Flow Across the Page Transition ↗

We develop a computational framework for the quantum relative entropy based on the replica trick and apply it to analyze the evaporation process method of Jackiw-Teitelboim black holes. We show that the relative entropies between the exact radiation state and the Hawking saddle state and the replica wormholes saddle state quantify information-theoretic costs inherent to coarse-grained semiclassical descriptions. During evaporation, the relative entropy for the Hawking saddle increases monotonically, reflecting a progressively higher thermodynamic cost of sustaining the Hawking description. Con…

Space-Time Electron Wave Packets with Tunable Skyrmion Textures ↗

Space-Time Wave Packets (STWPs) have enabled numerous nontrivial properties, such as tunable group velocities, nondiffraction and nonlocal spin textures in optical fields. However, this has not been properly studied in matter waves. Here, we investigate free-electron STWPs, which are propagation-invariant and group-velocity-tunable matter wave packets, constructed by constraining the spatiotemporal spectrum of the electron wavefunction in momentum space. Due to the unique dispersion of free-electrons, the electron STWP can carry two different topologies, and host both meron and skyrmion topolo…

    HRPv2: an automated and enhanced method for full-length homology-based R-gene prediction ↗

Motivation: Plant disease resistance genes, particularly those encoding NB-LRR proteins, are important targets for crop improvement. Proteome-based domain or motif searches can only identify NB-LRRs among existing gene models, meaning they cannot recover loci that have been missed or incorrectly predicted by the reference annotation. The full-length, homology-based R-gene prediction (HRP) method circumvents this issue by reconstructing gene models directly on the genome. However, the original implementation of this method requires several separate phases of classification, comparison and filte…

Perfect state transfer on mixed graphs: complete classes and transfer times ↗

For perfect state transfer (PST) on unweighted mixed graphs, we classify the normalized transfer times of complete PST classes. A finite set $Λ\subset\mathbb R/\mathbb Z$ containing zero occurs at a nonstationary periodic vertex if and only if $\cos(2π(x-y))\in\mathbb Q$ for all $x,y\inΛ$. Every admissible set has a connected oriented realization. We also classify the possible return phases of oriented realizations at the minimum vertex period. Transfers at rational multiples of the common minimum vertex period partition a complete class into sets of size at most six, or at most three in an or…

MARCO: The Radioactive Watermark for Protein Generative Models ↗

Protein Generative Models (PGMs) have revolutionized structural biology by enabling the design of complex 3D protein structures from sequence data. However, this breakthrough introduces a dual-use challenge, exposing high-value PGMs to economic risks like unauthorized model extraction and biosecurity threats such as biohazard synthesis. To mitigate these threats, we propose \textbf{MARCO} (\textsc{COnformation waterMARk}), the first radioactive watermarking framework specifically tailored for PGMs. MARCO establishes a Dual-Layer defense that simultaneously protects intellectual property and en…

Symmetry protected quantum many body scars through half-gauging ↗

We study the interplay between symmetry defects insertion and the phenomena of quantum many body scarring. We exploit a class of models obtained from an embedding mechanism that defines a stochastic matrix form hamiltonian, hosting zero energy many body scarred states. Such models display an interesting playground to explore the consequences of dualities, half-gauging operations and so on. We first show that inside this class of models, what are the conditions to still have scared states after defect insertion. The main result of our work is a detailed analysis of half-gauging in such chains,…

Multi-Dataset Diagnostic Utility of Clinical Visual Concepts in AI Systems for Dermatology ↗

The clinical integration of AI systems in digital dermatology relies heavily on human trust. Clinically interpretable visual concepts can act as intermediate representations enhancing trust and reliability. However, research in this domain is currently limited by scattered, heterogeneous dataset annotations. In this work, we introduce SkinLex, a harmonized dataset of 48 clinical morphological attributes across four public datasets (SkinCon, DermaCon-IN, MM-Skin, and PASSION) for a total of 20,411 records. Supervised nine-partition classification of skin conditions shows that limiting features…

    PhysTacGen: Physics-Aware Visual-Tactile Sensor Image Generation ↗

Realistic physical interaction is a cornerstone of embodied intelligence, yet collecting paired visual--tactile data remains costly. Visual-to-tactile synthesis offers a promising approach to augmenting such data, but learning this mapping is complicated by the gap between visual appearance and contact-related material properties, as well as spatial misalignment in paired observations. To address these challenges, we present \textbf{PhysTacGen}, a visual-to-optical-tactile image generation framework that integrates material-aware descriptions with geometric conditioning. First, we introduce Gr…

How to assess evidence about Science

Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
