THE INTERNET IS THINKING
Earlier sources: Science
Science investigates the natural world through observation, experiments, and mathematical models. Explore papers and developments in biology, medicine, materials, neuroscience, physics, climate, and mathematics; a reported finding is not necessarily established consensus.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗1376 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Bioprospecting Fermented Millet-Derived Limosilactobacillus fermentum for In Vitro Antiplasmodial Activity, Biochemical Profiling, and In Silico Characterization of Geranyl Pyrophosphate and Novel Bioactive Peptides ↗
Abstract Background The rising global threat of drug-resistant Plasmodium falciparum demands novel, multi-targeted antimalarial therapeutics. Probiotic lactic acid bacteria, notably Limosilactobacillus fermentum from traditional fermented cereal matrices, offer a promising source of functional metabolites and bioactive secretome peptides. Methods This study integrated in vitro , bioinformatic, and chemoinformatic pipelines to evaluate biogenic geranyl pyrophosphate (GPP) and novel secretome peptides (IITAAFGQFLPDKLLAAAKV, LILKLVKTPDILKTMGQKKG, and GASRASFPTILASGPNSAKP) from L. fermentum isolat

Chromatin-associated intronic RNAs from long genes form introsomes that shape nuclear architecture in neuronal cells ↗
Abstract Cell differentiation towards neurons is accompanied by widespread changes in three-dimensional (3D) genome organization and gene expression. Chromatin-associated RNAs have been proposed to be important regulators of such changes; however, the type, abundance, and role of these RNAs during neuronal differentiation remain largely unexplored. Here, we integrate multi-omic data generated in the frame of the Functional ANnoTation Of the Mammalian genome (FANTOM6) to chart 3D genome, RNA-DNA contactome, and transcriptome changes occurring during in vitro differentiation of human induced plu

Single-cell entropy as a selectable and inducible marker of stem-cell youth: a multi-track technical architecture for producing young autologous hematopoietic stem cells ↗
Abstract Background. Ageing of the haematopoietic system is driven, at the stem-cell level, by the accumulation of functionally compromised stem cells in the bone-marrow niche. Age-associated single-cell entropy (the loss of transcriptomic coordination within a cell of a given type) is computable from single-cell transcriptomic and chromatin data, increases with age, and has never been used as a selectable and inducible property to obtain young autologous adult stem cells. Objectives. We formalise a falsifiable research programme and a complete technical architecture for producing young, safe,

Comprehensive analysis and external validation of a glycolysis-related gene signature as a prognostic index for skin cutaneous melanoma. ↗
Skin cutaneous melanoma (SKCM) is the third most common cause of cancer-related deaths globally. Today, precise biomarkers to predict melanoma prognosis are quite limited. Aerobic glycolysis serves as the primary metabolic pathway for malignancies to meet their rapid growth demands. This study built a glycolysis-associated gene (GAG) signature to evaluate prognosis and immunotherapy response of SKCM. Data acquired from the Genotype-Tissue Expression (GTEx) and The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) databases were evaluated to obtain differentially expressed GAGs. With machine learning techniques, four

The interface of data assimilation and machine learning ↗
Data assimilation (DA) is the process of combining forecasts from a model with observations in order to optimally estimate the state of a system. This is critical for chaotic systems, such as the atmosphere, since if observations are not continually assimilated the model will quickly lose skill. DA is routinely performed (usually every 6 hours) at operational forecasting centres around the world. In this article we discuss the interface of machine learning (ML) and DA. This is still an emerging and quickly developing field, and this article tries to give an overview of some of the main topics…

Analytic non-axisymmetric 3D MHD equilibria without stellarator symmetry ↗
Analytical solutions to the three-dimensional ideal magnetohydrodynamic equilibrium equations $(\nabla \times \vec{B}) \times \vec{B} = \nabla p$ and $\nabla \cdot \vec{B} = 0$ provide benchmarks for stellarator equilibrium codes. Two families of non-axisymmetric solutions were recently discovered by Landreman [arXiv:2609.26742] as counterexamples to Grad's conjecture, but both satisfy stellarator symmetry. Here, we generalize both families by introducing a symmetry-breaking parameter into each of the solutions, resulting in new non-axisymmetric solutions that break stellarator symmetry and re…

Molecular hydrogen formation on dust: The impact of gas-dust drift on formation efficiency ↗
Molecular hydrogen is predominantly formed on dust-grain surfaces in the interstellar medium, where relative gas-dust motion can arise in dynamically active environments. While the dependence of H$_2$ formation on grain temperature and surface properties is well studied, the impact of gas-dust drift has received little attention. We investigate how gas-dust drift modifies H$_2$ formation, focusing on the competition between the drift-enhanced H-atom collision rate and reduced sticking at higher impact energies. We use an event-driven kinetic Monte Carlo model that follows individual H atoms on…

Boundary-accessible work in a collision-charged topological quantum battery ↗
Quantum batteries store energy in nonequilibrium quantum states. The ergotropy sets the work extractable by an arbitrary global unitary, but a device usually exchanges energy through a single local port. It remains unclear how much stored work such a port can deliver, and whether topological edge modes help. We study a dimerized spin chain of Su-Schrieffer-Heeger (SSH) type. Excited two-level ancillas charge it at one end by repeated collisions, and an initially empty two-level load discharges it at the same site. An exact free-fermion mapping yields a bound on the load work for all number-con…

How to assess evidence about Science
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
