Earlier sources: Science

Science investigates the natural world through observation, experiments, and mathematical models. Explore papers and developments in biology, medicine, materials, neuroscience, physics, climate, and mathematics; a reported finding is not necessarily established consensus.

SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.

1437 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.

Earlier sources

Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Beyond ideal cavities: quantifying the impact of cavity dissipation on light-matter strong coupling ↗

Cavity Quantum Electrodynamics (Cavity-QED) offers a powerful framework for controlling light-matter interactions, yet first-principles approaches commonly assume ideal, lossless cavity fields. Here, we introduce a minimal extension to the Pauli-Fierz Hamiltonian that accounts for cavity dissipation through the experimentally accessible cavity quality factor Q. The electromagnetic field is described as a damped harmonic oscillator within the very weak damping approximation. In this framework, cavity losses only enter the light-matter interaction and dipole self-energy terms, without introducin…

Symmetry resolved entanglement in Schwinger pair production ↗

We study the charge resolved structure of the pairwise mode entanglement produced by the Schwinger effect. Using the $U(1)$ electric charge of quantum electrodynamics, we decompose the entanglement of the reduced density matrices of momentum modes into individual charge sectors, applying the symmetry resolved entanglement entropy to the pure bipartition reductions and the charge imbalance resolved negativity to the mixed particle-antiparticle pair. For a constant electric field we obtain closed form results for every mode pairing, with all field dependence controlled by the single pair product…

Optimal Interferometer Geometry for Gravitationally Induced Quantum Entanglement ↗

The quest for a quantum theory of gravity remains a central challenge in modern physics, driven by the goal of unifying general relativity and quantum mechanics. Direct experimental access to quantum gravitational effects is notoriously difficult due to the inaccessibility of the Planck scale. Recent proposals, however, suggest that gravitationally induced quantum entanglement between two massive particles, realized through advanced quantum interferometric techniques, could provide empirical evidence for the quantum nature of gravity. We demonstrate that the geometrical configuration of an int…

Noise-Resilient Testing of Quantum Programs Based on Output Dominance ↗

Quantum software testing (QST) is a central quality-assurance activity for checking whether quantum programs conform to their specifications. In the noisy intermediate-scale quantum (NISQ) era, gate, decoherence, and measurement errors distort observed outputs, making it difficult to distinguish program defects from noise. The existing noise-aware QST literature typically mitigates or models noise before applying a test oracle. However, these strategies can incur substantial cost and depend on calibration data, model training, or backend-specific information, limiting their applicability. We p…

Imaginarity as a resource in Shor's algorithm ↗

We investigate the sequential version of Shor's order-finding algorithm from the perspective of the imaginarity of quantum channels. By fixing an eigenbranch of the modular multiplication unitary and a target output path, the process is effectively decomposed into a real diagonal factor and a residual phase channel. We find that for the ideal residual phase channel, the three trace-norm induced imaginarity measures are all equal. On good output paths, a smaller residual imaginarity corresponds to a higher single-block success probability. By combining the branch-wise probabilities, we obtain t…

Nonuniform QCPH Collapse Implies QCPH Collapse ↗

Despite the importance of the non-uniform Polynomial-Time Hierarchy (PH/poly) in classical complexity understanding the collapse conditions of the Polynomial-Time Hierarchy (PH), a quantum equivalent of PH/poly has yet to be studied in the literature. We introduce the non-uniform computational Quantum Polynomial-Time Hierarchy (QCPH/mpoly), the quantum equivalent of PH/poly, and show that it collapses if and only if QCPH, the quantum equivalent of PH introduced by Gharibian et al. (comput. complex. 2022), also collapses. We also show that QCPH collapses if coQCMA is contained in QCMA/mpoly. Th…

Structural Conditions for Distributed Quantum Advantage ↗

Circuit cutting runs a quantum computation on processors smaller than the circuit, at the price of classical knitting whose cost grows exponentially with the number of cut gates. Keeping this cost affordable is necessary but not sufficient for an advantage, since knitting classically easy subcircuits is itself classically easy. We formulate three requirements for distributed quantum advantage under a stated budget: affordable knitting, classical difficulty that survives the cut, and, for variational circuits, resolvable gradients. We prove that under stated assumptions knitting stays affordabl…

    A Cheat-Sensitive Primitive for Destination-Private Quantum Routing ↗

Quantum networks will rely on intermediate nodes to distribute entanglement, but the same nodes may learn which users are being connected. We introduce a minimal two-call routing primitive in which a user, Alice, establishes an entangled link with one of several clients while testing whether the provider, Bob, has disturbed a coherently encoded request. The construction adapts the hidden-order mechanism of quantum private queries: one call contains a direct request, the other a coherent superposition of the desired and null addresses, and Alice keeps their order secret. A private matching qubi…

How dust particles orbiting white dwarfs can reveal undetected co-orbiting exoplanets II. Exoplanets on elliptic orbits ↗

Abridged. We aim to extend Paper I to the eccentric secondary orbit case and now analyse the elliptic restricted three-body problem (ERTBP). Our secondary masses include Ceres, Mercury, Earth, and Neptune so that we can help infer the presence of both large asteroids and planets through our analysis. We study dust particles on both planar (2D-ERTBP) and non-coplanar (3D-ERTBP) orbits. We computed families of 1/1 resonant symmetric and asymmetric periodic orbits in the 2D-ERTBP and 3D-ERTBP. Doing so produces novel results in their own right and diagnostic tools for precise guidance for our nex…

Switches in alternatively spliced isoforms impact protein and drug interactions in melanoma, ovarian cancer, and acute myeloid leukemia ↗

Abstract Background Alternative splicing is a cellular process and a primary source of proteome diversity. Switches in the Most Dominant Transcript (MDT), where the predominantly expressed isoform changes between normal and cancer samples, have been implicated in disrupting protein interaction networks and driving tumour progression. Thus, identifying switching events in MDT isoforms is crucial for discovering diagnostic biomarkers or therapeutic targets. Methods Here, we present the most comprehensive study on validated MDT-switching events in melanoma, ovarian cancer, and AML. Results We ide…

How to assess evidence about Science

Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
