Earlier sources: Science
Science investigates the natural world through observation, experiments, and mathematical models. Explore papers and developments in biology, medicine, materials, neuroscience, physics, climate, and mathematics; a reported finding is not necessarily established consensus.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.

Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

KRT13 Drives Pancreatic Cancer Malignancy Via the PI3K/AKT-PPARG Axis While Enhancing Sensitivity to Navitoclax. ↗
BACKGROUND Pancreatic cancer remains one of the most aggressive malignancies, characterized by late diagnosis, limited treatment options, and a dismal prognosis, with a 5-year survival rate consistently below 13%. The molecular mechanisms driving its progression are incompletely understood, highlighting the need to identify novel regulators of oncogenic pathways. This study focused on keratin 13 (KRT13), a cytoskeletal protein, and investigated its role in pancreatic cancer pathogenesis, particularly its regulatory effect on peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARG) through the

Shared Transcriptional Features of Layer 3 Pyramidal Neurons Projecting to the Monkey Dorsolateral Prefrontal Cortex. ↗
Layer 3 (L3) pyramidal neurons projecting to the primate dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) convey essential information for core cognitive processes. Alterations in these neurons could contribute to cognitive deficits in schizophrenia. This study was designed to determine whether DLPFC-projecting L3 pyramidal neurons have a distinctive transcriptional profile. Laser microdissection was used to capture Nissl-stained and retrogradely labeled L3 pyramidal neurons that project to the DLPFC from the superior temporal cortex or posterior cingulate cortex of eight (four female) young adult (54-6

Amino acid mapping-guided scaffold selection and hit identification of histidine kinase inhibitors from a virtual library of over 12 million compounds. ↗
Waldiomycin is a natural product originally isolated from actinomycete extracts. It inhibits histidine kinases (HKs), which are essential components of bacterial two-component signal transduction systems, by targeting the conserved H-box region and suppressing autophosphorylation. Here, we identified novel HK inhibitors using amino acid mapping (AAM)-based virtual screening. We compared the AAM descriptor of the naphthoquinone moiety of waldiomycin, which directly interacts with the H-box region, with those of approximately 12 million commercially available compounds and identified 714 candida

Exercise slows biological aging in breast cancer survivors: secondary analysis of a randomized trial. ↗
Cancer and its treatments are associated with accelerated biological aging and cognitive impairment among breast cancer survivors. DNA methylation-based epigenetic clocks provide measures of biological aging that predict morbidity and mortality, yet little is known about whether these aging trajectories can be modified by lifestyle intervention. This secondary analysis of a subset of participants in a randomized controlled trial examined the impact of a 12-month exercise intervention on markers of epigenetic aging among breast cancer survivors. Sedentary breast cancer survivors within 5 years

Application of NaCl-supplemented antimicrobial susceptibility testing conditions to marine bacterial isolates. ↗
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in marine environments remains difficult to assess under standard antimicrobial susceptibility testing conditions, which may not adequately reflect the physiological requirements of marine-derived bacteria. In this study, we applied NaCl-supplemented susceptibility testing conditions to bacterial isolates recovered from coastal environments and marine organism guts to evaluate their practical applicability and limitations. A total of 927 isolates were obtained from lagoon, seawater, soil, and gut samples of abalone, crab, eel, halibut, and salmon. Of these, 365 i

A Probabilistic Trajectory and Dispersion Study of Martian Tumbleweed Rover Swarms in Global Dust Storm Conditions ↗
Global Dust Storms (GDSs) dominate the Martian climate, yet the mechanisms of dust lifting, transport, and deposition remain poorly constrained because in situ observations are limited: landers are stationary, and their Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generators (RTGs) contaminate local measurements. Our solution is a swarm of lightweight, wind-propelled spherical rovers -- Dust Rovers (DRs) -- that follow natural wind patterns to collect high-spatial-resolution in situ dust data during storms. Here, we quantify the dispersion and communication connectivity of this robotic architecture. Using 625…

Methodological Changes to the Attention ResUNet Hourly Precipitation Postprocessor ↗
This note is a technical companion to a previously published preprint describing an Attention Residual U-Net that postprocesses deterministic forecasts from The Weather Company's Global and Regional Atmospheric Forecast (GRAF) model into probabilistic hourly precipitation forecasts. It documents what has changed in that method since publication. Feature-wise Linear Modulation conditioning on calendar season and forecast lead time is used to produce a single trained model for each season, replacing 192 separately trained per-month, per-lead checkpoints. Lead time is extended from 48 to 72 h. Tw…

When Classical Correlations Certify Entanglement Recovery ↗
Entanglement and state distinguishability have long been central topics in quantum foundations. While each has developed into a rich subject in its own right, they can be connected through measurements in complementary bases. This connection provides insights into quantum and classical correlations and underlies many information-processing tasks, most notably quantum error correction (QEC). However, it has remained largely open whether the connection between entanglement and distinguishability extends to general measurements without assuming complementarity. We answer this question in the affi…

Optimal Tolerant Testing of Lindbladian Dissipation ↗
Quantifying dissipation is essential for controlling quantum noise and characterizing open-system dynamics. In practical experimental settings, residual noise may still persist despite efforts to suppress it, making it important to determine whether the dissipative strength remains within a prescribed tolerance threshold. We study this question for an unknown, time-independent Lindblad generator with bounded strength, where the jump operators are local but with unrestricted overlap, using only memoryless forward-evolution access. The task is to distinguish dissipative strength of at most $\var…

How to assess evidence about Science
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
