Earlier sources: Science
Science investigates the natural world through observation, experiments, and mathematical models. Explore papers and developments in biology, medicine, materials, neuroscience, physics, climate, and mathematics; a reported finding is not necessarily established consensus.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗1653 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Placement-driven reversal of preferred spin alignment in monolayer hBN vacancy pairs ↗
The negatively charged boron vacancy is an optically addressable spin centre in hexagonal boron nitride (hBN), but bringing two vacancies together introduces electronic interactions absent from the isolated-defect picture. Here we use density-functional theory at total charge q = -2 to show that atomic-scale placement reverses the preferred collinear spin alignment in monolayer hBN. Among seven configurations, the closest pair, separated by 4.3 angstrom, favours parallel alignment by 27.6 meV within the semilocal approximation. Moving one vacancy by a single lattice vector reverses the prefere…

On Embedding Design in Quantum Physics-Informed Neural Networks ↗
Quantum physics-informed neural networks (QPINNs) solve partial differential equations (PDEs) by training parameterized quantum circuits against physics-based residuals, yet the role of the embedding that maps coordinates into quantum states remains insufficiently understood. In this research, we introduce a unified embedding framework that formulates embedding as a functional transformation shaping the feature representation available to the variational circuit, and we propose two embeddings within it. The Linear Quantum Neural Network Trainable Embedding QPINN (LQNN-TE-QPINN) generates data-…

Simultaneously Query-Optimal Quantum Linear-System Algorithm ↗
Quantum linear-system algorithms access the coefficient matrix through a block-encoding oracle $U_A$ and the right-hand side through a state-preparation oracle $U_b$. The optimal query complexities of these two oracles are known separately: $O(κ\log(1/\varepsilon))$ queries to $U_A$ and $O(κ/s)$ queries to $U_b$, where $s=α\|A^{-1}b\|$. Whether a single algorithm can achieve both bounds simultaneously has remained open. We resolve this question affirmatively. Given a constant-factor estimate of $s$, we give a quantum linear-system algorithm that prepares the normalized solution to error $\vare…

Implicit-Explicit time integration scheme with Physics-based preconditioning for two-fluid tokamak boundary simulations ↗
In this work, a globally stiffly accurate Implicit-Explicit (IMEX) Runge-Kutta scheme is developed and implemented in the GBS code [Ricci et al., Plasma Phys. Control. Fusion, 2012], for two-fluid plasma turbulence simulations. The stiffest phenomena, governed by shear Alfvén waves and parallel diffusion, are treated implicitly, while the remaining non-stiff terms are advanced explicitly. This splitting enables time steps well beyond the Courant-Friedrichs-Lewy limit, without incurring the full computational cost of a globally implicit formulation. To efficiently solve the implicit subsystem a…

Effective atom-dimer bands of three-body lattice systems at strong coupling: exact critical mass ratios and a statistics-quasimomentum duality ↗
We study three particles on the square lattice with contact interactions of infinite strength, for all total quasimomenta, for three statistics: three identical bosons, two identical fermions plus a third particle, and two identical bosons plus a third particle. Previous work treated only the trimer and zero quasimomentum. Here the atom-dimer sector is analyzed on the whole Brillouin zone. A Feshbach-Schur reduction onto the infinitely degenerate eigenvalue 1 of the pair-contact operator gives explicit effective Hamiltonians with proved first-order error. The threshold problem reduces to a 4x4…

Interactions Protect Periodically Driven Time Crystals Against Dephasing but Destabilise Multipolar-Driven Order ↗
We show that stronger interactions protect periodically driven time-crystal order against dephasing but destabilise order under random multipolar drives, and that coordination matters beyond the total interaction strength. We studied a disordered kicked Ising model of $N=12$ and $16$ spins with imperfect $π$ pulses and per-site dephasing by exact diagonalisation, comparing a periodic drive, random multipolar drives of order $n=0,1,2$ and the Thue-Morse sequence, and separated coupling strength from coordination by comparing a grid with a ring at equal total interaction strength $zJ$. For the p…

Terminal-Register Certification for Finite-Measurement Learning of Multiscale Quantum States ↗
Structured quantum-state learning not only depends on an expressive ansatz but also on an operational certificate that stays meaningful with finite measurements and imperfect implementation. We study pure one dimensional states learning by an inverse binary multiscale entanglement renormalization ansatz (MERA). In the learning procedure, the qubits removed during coarse graining are controlled coherently and measured together at the terminal register. We confirm that an ideal sequential and terminal measurement schedule delivers the same complete bit string distribution under matched causal op…

Engineering Defect-Phonon Interactions Through Heterophase-Interfaces in Silicon Carbide Membranes ↗
Point defects in wide-bandgap semiconductors offer spin and photonic qubits in a solid-state platform, making them important building blocks for quantum information processing, communication, and sensing. While these systems have the strong advantage of room-temperature operation, intrinsic electron-phonon interaction induces broad phonon-sideband emission and weak zero-phonon-line transitions, limiting efficient spin-photon interfaces and scalable photon-mediated interaction. Here, we introduce a controlled heterophase interface based on the remote epitaxy technique as a crystal heterogeneity…

How to assess evidence about Science
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
