Earlier sources: Science
Science investigates the natural world through observation, experiments, and mathematical models. Explore papers and developments in biology, medicine, materials, neuroscience, physics, climate, and mathematics; a reported finding is not necessarily established consensus.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗1699 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

K-shell x-ray spectroscopy: A reliable probe for stimulated Raman scattering in inertial confinement fusion--- ↗
Accurate characterization of stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) remains a critical challenge in inertial confinement fusion (ICF), as SRS not only scatters laser energy but also generates suprathermal electrons that preheat the fuel and degrade implosion performance. Conventional backscatter diagnostics provide direct measurements of SRS but cannot collect the entire scattered-light signal, limiting the accurate characterization of SRS strength. Using a non-local thermodynamic equilibrium collisional-radiative model with a double-Maxwellian electron distribution, we systematically investigate h…

Physics-Informed Neural Networks to Infer the Perpendicular Energy Conductivity in the Scrape-Off Layer of Stellarator Devices ↗
In this work, we develop an inverse Physics-Informed Neural Network (PINN) framework to infer the dependence of the scrape-off layer (SOL) perpendicular heat conductivity on plasma density and temperature, $κ_\perp(n,T)$. The method combines radial profile measurements of electron density and temperature with the residual of a reduced one-dimensional SOL transport equation, so that the inferred conductivity is constrained by both the measurements and the underlying transport model. Three neural networks are trained simultaneously: two reconstruct the temperature and density profiles as functio…

Modeling of plasma transport during edge-localized mode in tokamak using a kinetic Vlasov-Poisson code ↗
A kinetic parallel transport code KOBRA based on a finite-volume method is developed to study edge localized mode (ELM) plasma transport from the mid-plane to divertor targets. The large scale separation between the Debye length (~cm) and the connection length (~10-20 m) leads to prohibitive computational cost in full 6D simulations. To alleviate this, an adaptive-mesh refinement (AMR) strategy is employed. Comparisons with uniform-grid simulations show that AMR accurately reproduces the characteristic ELM dynamics, including the rapid rise and slow decay of divertor fluxes, as well as the ear…

How to assess evidence about Science
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
