Earlier sources: Physics
This science thread follows physics through original research, public projects, and source reports. Read the evidence below to see which developments are represented in SYMTRI’s archive.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗314 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Operational Limits of Gravity-Mediated Entanglement ↗
Tests of gravity-mediated entanglement aim to determine whether two massive objects in spatial superposition can become entangled through their mutual gravitational interaction. In an ideal model, the two objects are often treated as pointlike branches, but real wave packets have a finite width and are also exposed to dephasing and residual non-gravitational forces. We study these effects in a two-branch gravitational cat-state model with Gaussian wave packets. The Newtonian interaction is averaged over the finite wave-packet width, and spatially correlated dephasing is included phenomenologic…

Are We Testing the Wrong Quantum Bugs? A Study of Fault Representation Gaps in Quantum Software Testing ↗
Quantum software relies on compilers, intermediate representations, and execution frameworks that transform programs before execution. Faults in these components can change the behavior of otherwise correct quantum programs. Yet quantum testing techniques are often evaluated using mutation-generated faults and curated bug benchmarks. We investigate how well the faults represented by these artifacts reflect those encountered in modern quantum software. We audit four quantum mutation-testing tools and three curated bug benchmarks, and collect 410 verified bugs from ten quantum software repositor…

Energetic channels in finite many-body quantum charging ↗
We examine how a finite many-body system can function as an effective charger for a single-qubit quantum battery, using the Lipkin-Meshkov-Glick model as a paradigmatic setting. As our figure of merit, we consider the battery ergotropy while explicitly resolving the energetic flows across the composite system. In the absence of intra-charger interactions, we show that the generation of non-zero ergotropy is controlled by the competition between collective coupling and spectral mismatch. We further demonstrate that even passive positive-temperature charger states can generate finite battery erg…

Quantum control of solid state qubits via Reinforcement Learning ↗
The use of reinforcement learning (RL) in the design of quantum control strategies for pulse level control of NISQ era quantum devices is attracting growing interest. Model-free RL, not requiring preexisting knowledge of the physical system, acts as a black-box optimization tool well suited for noisy devices. In this work, we provide a simulation-based analysis of the performance of model-free RL for state preparation and qubit gate design in a challenging setup: indirect control of NV nuclear spins in a spin-bath. In particular, the spin-bath is modeled via the generalized cluster correlation…

Realization Divergence in Multi-Provider Quantum Computing: A Pre-Registered Study of What Survives Measurement ↗
Quantum programs pass through compilers, transpilers and vendor services before execution. However, the distance between what was written and what runs is rarely measured. We call this distance realization divergence: the observable difference in how an identical source circuit is realized and behaves across quantum software stacks. We report a hardware study across three vendors and four devices, combining pre-registered predictions with explicitly identified exploratory analyses and amendments. In a compilation experiment with assigned placement policies, embedding radius correlates with two…

Aspects of Symmetry in Nuclear Quantum Computing Variational Algorithms ↗
Variational Quantum Eigensolvers (VQEs) have become a standard tool for use in preparing eigenstates in quantum simulations of many-body systems. In the case of the nuclear shell model, various adaptations of the VQE have been shown to be able to produce ground and excited states of nuclei. The VQE algorithm works by seeking minima in a cost function, which is often the expectation value of the energy. For a well-formulated problem, symmetries that are respected by the Hamiltonian should appear in the final converged solution provided by the VQE, even if those symmetries are broken by the wave…

Physics-Informed Vector LSTM for Multi-Horizon Hub-Height Wind Speed Forecasting Across Multiple Sites ↗
Accurate hub-height wind-speed forecasting is a prerequisite for the safe and economical integration of wind power into the electricity grid, because forecasting errors propagate directly into imbalance penalties, reserve sizing, and turbine wear, and short-term predictions (one to twenty-four hours ahead) are of direct operational value. The literature on wind-speed and, more broadly, multivariate time-series forecasting has advanced through three overlapping waves, namely classical statistical and physical models, shallow machine-learning regression, and deep sequence models, which share a c…

Hygrothermal Aging and Strength Prediction of CFRP Single-Lap Joints: Experiments and Physics-Constrained Neural Networks ↗
Adhesively bonded carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) joints offer efficient load transfer and weight-saving potential in aerospace structures. The simple geometry of single-lap joints (SLJs) makes them useful for examining bond durability, although the effects of hygrothermal aging on their performance have not been sufficiently investigated. This research systematically integrates moisture absorption experiments, mechanical testing, finite element modeling (FEM), and deep neural network (DNN) modeling to provide a comprehensive analysis of moisture absorption behavior, strength degradatio…

OmniCosmos: Transferring Particle Physics Knowledge Across the Cosmos ↗
Foundation models build an effective representation of data that can be deployed on diverse downstream tasks. Previous research showed that the , a foundation model for collider physics, could significantly advance discovery potential across collider experiments. In this paper, we show that foundation models trained on collider data can transfer to cosmology. Specifically, we improve the prediction of cosmological parameters and halo and galaxy velocities in different datasets from . To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time a collider physics model has been shown to generalize acro…

Magic state cultivation on a superconducting quantum processor ↗
Fault-tolerant quantum computing requires a universal gate set, but the necessary non-Clifford gates represent a significant resource cost for most quantum error correction architectures. Magic state cultivation offers an efficient alternative to resource-intensive distillation protocols; however, testing the proposal’s assumptions represents a challenging departure from quantum memory experiments. We present an experimental study of magic state cultivation on a superconducting quantum processor. We implement cultivation, including code-switching into a surface code, and develop a fault-tolera…

How to assess evidence about Physics
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
