Earlier sources: Physics
This science thread follows physics through original research, public projects, and source reports. Read the evidence below to see which developments are represented in SYMTRI’s archive.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗314 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

PG-MTCDGNet: A Physics-Grounded Multi-Scale Time-Lagged Dynamic Graph Network for Structured Evidence Reporting in Planetary-Gearbox Fault Diagnosis ↗
Multichannel vibration from a planetary gearbox exhibits operating-condition-dependent interactions across both time scale and lag. Static undirected graphs cannot represent ordered temporal dependence, while repeated graph aggregation can attenuate localized impacts. This paper presents PG-MTCDGNet, a physics-grounded multi-scale time-lagged dynamic graph network for structured evidence reporting in planetary-gearbox fault diagnosis. Phase-synchronous X/Y vibration, transient residuals, Hilbert envelopes, cross-channel coupling, and encoder micro-speed are represented as eight physical nodes.…

Disturbance-responsive online lithium-ion battery SOH estimation and analytical knee-point tracking with a Dual-Weibull Physics-Inspired Model ↗
Accurate online estimation of lithium-ion battery state of health (SOH) and knee points remains challenging because feature-based estimators can be sensitive to changes in input-data quality, whereas conventional empirical models may lack the flexibility. Therefore, this study proposes an online SOH and knee-point estimation framework comprising a Transformer-adaptive Kalman filter (AKF) branch, a Dual-Weibull Physics-Inspired Model (DWPIM), and a disturbance-responsive multi-feature Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) gate. The residual-based AKF is adopted to recursively smooth the Transformer outpu…

Physics-Guided and Horizon-Aware Dynamic Liquid-Level Identification and Forecasting in Oil Wells Using Distributed Temperature Sensing ↗
Accurate dynamic liquid-level monitoring in rod-pumped oil wells requires not only reliable identification of the gas–liquid interface from distributed sensing data but also stable forecasting over extended horizons. This study develops a physics-guided and horizon-aware PatchTST framework (PGH-PatchTST) for dynamic liquid-level identification and forecasting based on distributed temperature sensing (DTS). The measured time–depth–temperature field is reconstructed and denoised, and the gas–liquid interface is localized using the maximum absolute spatial temperature gradient. Unlike the previou…

Physics-consistent alignment and discrepancy learning for multi-fidelity prediction of train collision load ↗
Train collision accidents may lead to severe casualties and substantial property losses, making crashworthiness analysis essential for improving train passive safety. However, the high computational cost of high-fidelity numerical simulations limits their direct application to large-scale parameter analysis and optimization. To address this challenge, this study proposes a bias-correction surrogate network (BCS-Net) for multi-fidelity prediction of train collision loads under limited high-fidelity data. The proposed framework performs a physically consistent alignment of force-displacement res…

Efficient routing and spectrum allocation in arbitrary flex-grid entanglement networks ↗
As practical quantum networks approach large-scale deployment, the need for efficient user-to-user frequency allocation is increasing, yet current approaches only provide partial solutions to the routing and spectrum allocation problem for an arbitrary quantum network. We address this challenge for repeater-less flex-grid quantum networks based on hyperentangled photons using an efficient three-stage pipeline combining leading tools in classical networking with recent advances in numerical optimization. First, double instantiations of Yen's algorithm obtain low-loss route candidates between ea…

Low-resource quantum energy gap estimation via randomization ↗
Estimating the energy spectra of quantum many-body systems is a fundamental task in quantum physics, with applications ranging from chemistry to condensed matter. Algorithmic shadow spectroscopy is a recent method that leverages randomized measurements on time-evolved quantum states to extract spectral information. However, implementing accurate time evolution with low-depth circuits remains a key challenge for near-term quantum hardware. In this work, we propose a hybrid quantum-classical protocol that integrates Time Evolution via Probabilistic Angle Interpolation (TE-PAI) into the shadow sp…

Unified toolbox for multipartite entanglement certification ↗
We present a unified framework for multipartite entanglement characterization based on the conditional gradient (CG) method, incorporating both fast heuristic detection and rigorous witness construction with numerical error control. Our method enables entanglement certification in quantum systems of up to ten qubits and applies to arbitrary entanglement structures. We demonstrate its power by closing the gap between entanglement and separability bounds in white noise robustness benchmarks for a class of bound entangled states. Furthermore, the framework extends to entanglement robustness under…

Gaussian entanglement and quantum communication: geodesic optimization and multimode bounds ↗
Loss and noise limit the use of light to distribute entanglement, transmit quantum information, and establish secret keys. Gaussian states have a compact description in terms of means and covariance matrices, but their entanglement still requires global optimization. We develop a framework for computing Gaussian-restricted versions of the relative entropy of entanglement and Rains entanglement. An integral representation reveals a convex geometry under matrix geometric means and reduces Gaussian Rains entanglement to relative entropy minimized over Gaussian states with positive partial transpo…

On the coincidence of discrete and continuous definitions of Entanglement of Formation ↗
It is proved that every Borel ensemble of pure states on a separable bipartite Hilbert space with finite average entanglement admits a countable ensemble with the same barycenter and arbitrarily small additional average entanglement. Consequently, the discrete and continuous versions of the Entanglement of Formation coincide on the whole space of states of infinite-dimensional bipartite quantum system (with infinite values allowed). The main idea of the proof (realized with the AI-assistance) is the identification of a Borel ensemble of pure bipartite states with a Borel probability measure on…

Quantum-enhanced mechanical sensing with machine-learning estimation ↗
Massive mechanical oscillators couple directly to forces, accelerations and gravity, making them attractive probes of new physics and of quantum mechanics at macroscopic scales. Pushing sensitivities beyond the standard quantum limit for signals of unknown phase requires non-Gaussian quantum states, whose metrological advantage has so far been confined to lighter systems such as trapped ions. Here we operate a microgram-scale acoustic mode of a high-overtone bulk acoustic wave resonator as a phase-insensitive quantum-enhanced sensor. A transmon qubit prepares the mode in Fock states of up to s…

How to assess evidence about Physics
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
