Earlier sources: Physics
This science thread follows physics through original research, public projects, and source reports. Read the evidence below to see which developments are represented in SYMTRI’s archive.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗307 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Robust NbN‐on‐Si/SiGe Hybrid Microwave Quantum Circuits With Long‐Term Stability ↗
ABSTRACT Large‐scale quantum computing requires superconducting microwave circuits that simultaneously exhibit ultra‐low loss, long‐term reliability, and scalable integration with semiconductor technologies. Achieving these capabilities within a CMOS‐compatible platform remains a major challenge, with microwave losses arising from material defects, interfaces, and fabrication processes limiting scalability. Here, we demonstrate robust niobium nitride (NbN) coplanar waveguide resonators fabricated on Si/SiGe quantum‐well heterostructures, establishing a hybrid superconducting–semiconducting mic…

Graph symmetry organizes exceptional dynamics in open quantum systems ↗
Exceptional points (EPs) play a central role in non-Hermitian physics, yet most theoretical studies begin from deliberately engineered low-dimensional effective Hamiltonians whose parameters are tuned to produce spectral degeneracies. In realistic open quantum systems, however, dynamics are governed by Lindblad superoperators whose spectral structure is high-dimensional, symmetry-constrained, and generally not amenable to a priori reduction. A general framework for identifying exceptional dynamics directly from microscopic dissipative models has therefore been lacking. Here we introduce a symm…

World Models' Last Exam in Physics ↗
Video world models can produce visually convincing yet physically inconsistent sequences, raising concerns about their reliability for prediction and planning in embodied AI systems. Existing evaluations often rely on model-based judgments or reference videos, while direct physical tests largely focus on mechanics. We introduce World Models' Last Exam in Physics, a measurement-based benchmark for evaluating physical consistency in video world models. The benchmark comprises 40 controlled tasks spanning mechanics, optics, fluids, thermal and phase-change phenomena, electromagnetism, and surface…

Observing the magic Mpemba effect in localized dynamics on a digital quantum computer ↗
The Mpemba effect challenges the intuition that states closer to equilibrium must relax faster. We ask whether an analogous magic-ordering reversal can occur in the generation of quantum magic (nonstabilizerness), a key resource for universal quantum computation: can a state with less initial magic overtake one with more and reach its asymptotic value sooner? Here, we uncover interaction-induced dephasing as a distinct mechanism for this magic Mpemba effect, requiring neither transport nor conventional thermalization. For tilted product states in an interacting $\ell$-bit model, a random-phase…

Complexity of self-consistent entanglement certification ↗
In recent work Phys. Rev. X 16, 031057 (2026), we proposed a self-consistent approach to entanglement certification based on generalized noncontextuality. It requires no prior characterization of the measurement devices and, given access to all local measurements, can certify every entangled state in a Bell circuit. Here, we study the complexity of this protocol in a finite experiment. At fixed local dimension $d$, we show that the optimal number of distinct local effects needed to reach a trace-distance \textit{entanglement resolution} $γ$ is $Θ_d(γ^{-(d-1)})$. This scaling is necessary even…

No-Disturbance-without-Uncertainty generates the Quantum set in the simplest Bell scenario ↗
Characterizing the set of quantum nonlocal correlations through information-theoretic constraints is a central problem in quantum foundations. We show that the convex hull of no-signalling behaviors in a bipartite Bell experiment satisfying a common-overlap no-disturbance-without-uncertainty condition is exactly the finite-dimensional quantum set whenever one party has two binary measurements and the other has an arbitrary finite number of settings, each with an arbitrary finite number of outcomes. In the simplest binary input-output Bell scenario, this characterizes the full eight-dimensional…

Entanglement manipulation and magic area-laws ↗
Physical many-body quantum systems typically interact locally, giving rise to ground states where entanglement grows with the area of the region being probed. Beyond entanglement, non-stabilizerness (or "magic") has been established as another crucial resource linked to quantum complexity and the properties of error-correcting states. Unlike entanglement, non-stabilizerness typically behaves with a volume-law scaling in ground states, indicating inherent computational complexity. In this work, we show that under a recent classification of quantum states, area-law states split into two distinct…

Quantum Algorithms for Multivariable Polynomial Transformations: From Efficient Synthesis to Quantum Channel Transformations ↗
Polynomial transformations are basic primitives in quantum algorithms: quantum signal processing and singular value transformation compile univariate polynomials into circuits with query complexity essentially set by degree. Multivariable transformations of noncommuting matrices, however, lack a comparable synthesis theory. We develop a complete constructive theory under joint block access for all polynomials contractive on the prescribed matrix domain. Given a compact finite-state description of a degree-$D$ polynomial $P$ and $0<τ<1$, we synthesize $P$ with $(1+τ)$-optimal normalization usin…

Entanglement Sudden Death: Eberly's Work and the Limits of Local Dynamics ↗
Entanglement sudden death (ESD), explored through a series of works by Yu and Eberly, supports the notion of entanglement vanishing abruptly and completely at a finite time, even when the underlying open-system dynamics remain smooth. In this article, we revisit the development of ESD from bipartite origins to genuine multipartite entanglement. We first illustrate the canonical mechanism of ESD with two independently damped qubits, for which the concurrence vanishes at a finite time while populations and coherences remain nonzero. We next present our results on multipartite entanglement for ge…

How to assess evidence about Physics
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
