Earlier sources: Physics
This science thread follows physics through original research, public projects, and source reports. Read the evidence below to see which developments are represented in SYMTRI’s archive.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗305 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

InAsSb surface quantum well with in situ deposited Nb as a platform for hybrid devices ↗
Abstract Semiconductor-superconductor hybrid materials form the basis of quantum devices ranging from gate-tunable qubit platforms to topological quantum applications. These applications require material combinations that offer strong spin-orbit coupling and a large superconducting gap. Here, we present a semiconductor-superconductor hybrid material based on a molecular beam epitaxially grown Indium Arsenide Antimonide surface quantum well with an in-situ deposited Niobium layer. The Indium Arsenide Antimonide surface quantum well offers a low effective mass and strong spin-orbit interaction,…

A Physics-Guided Statistical Framework for Bearing Fault Diagnosis Under Unit Variability and Rotational Speed Uncertainty ↗
Reliable bearing fault diagnosis must differentiate between defects and normal-operation-condition variation. The predictor must remain accurate when shaft speed is uncertain. Conventional accuracy-driven models often ignore false-positive rates and fail to accurately locate faults on unseen bearings’ data. This study proposes a physics-guided statistical framework that integrates resolution-based order screening, envelope peak-to-floor evidence, search- and collision-matched empirical nulls, and conformal calibration against healthy reference data. A two-stage bearing-level rule detects abnor…

Microfacet-based physics-driven framework for single-photon LiDAR rough-surface scattering and detection ↗
The scattering characteristics of rough surfaces play a fundamental role in single-photon LiDAR, remote sensing, and optical target characterization. Conventional electromagnetic models describe the underlying optical scattering process, whereas photon-counting statistics and detector response must be modeled separately to describe measurements in the single-photon regime. In this study, a unified simulation model for rough-surface scattering and single-photon detection is developed based on the microfacet model. The model incorporates laser emission, photon propagation, surface scattering, an…

Single-photon controlled phase shifts with colloidal quantum dots at room temperature ↗
Quantum logic gates based on quantum electrodynamics (QED) in strong coupling regime between quantum dots and microcavities are key elements for scalable quantum computing and all-optical quantum networks. Here, a single colloidal quantum dot was site-selectively positioned onto a dielectric photonic crystal hybrid microcavity using a soft nanoprobe technique, enabling the study of strong coupling between the colloidal quantum dots and bound states in the continuum in the cavity. By combining photoluminescence spectroscopy, Michelson interferometry, and continuous-wave pump-probe technology, t…

PIGNN3D: an accelerated physics-informed graph neural network for 3D thermal field simulation in data centers ↗
Abstract Efficient thermal management is critical in data centers, where computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations provide high-fidelity airflow and temperature predictions but remain computationally demanding and time-intensive. While data-driven methods have emerged as promising alternatives, most existing works are limited to small-scale or 2D flow simulations and face challenges when extended to complex 3D domains. To overcome these challenges, we present PIGNN3D, a physics-informed graph neural network designed for fast and efficient 3D thermal field simulation in data centers. PIGNN…

Entanglement-induced resilience of quantum dynamics ↗
Quantum many-body devices suffer from imperfections that destabilize dynamics and limit scalability. We show that the dynamical growth of entanglement can intrinsically protect generic quantum dynamics against coherent noise and local perturbative noise. Through rigorous theoretical analysis of general quantum dynamics and numerical simulations of spin chains and fermionic lattices, we prove that entanglement entropy growth confines the influence of local Hamiltonian perturbations, thereby suppressing dynamical errors. The degree of protection correlates quantitatively with the entanglement en…

Potential of multi-anomalies detection using quantum machine learning ↗
Machine learning is widely used for industrial anomaly detection; however, when anomaly distributions overlap, high false positive rates (FPR) often occur, hindering practical implementation. While quantum kernel methods have been proposed as a solution, the specific conditions under which they outperform conventional methods remain unclear. This study investigated the conditions under which quantum kernels outperform the classical RBF kernel in industrial acoustic anomaly detection. Using autoregressive (AR) features and an unsupervised One-Class SVM, we compared a conventional radial basis f…

Polynomial-time classical and quantum simulation of quantum impurity models ↗
Quantum impurity models are paradigmatic models of interacting quantum matter, as well as key computational primitives for modern electronic-structure methods. They describe a small subsystem of interacting fermions coupled to a large, noninteracting bath. We perform a comprehensive study of the computational complexity of simulating impurity models, delineating the boundary between classical and quantum tractability for this class of problems. Our main finding is that static properties of quantum impurity models can be calculated efficiently on a classical computer. Specifically, we give clas…

Beyond Light Cones: State Preparation Complexity in Quantum Spin Glasses ↗
We introduce a method for studying state preparation complexity in dense quantum $p$-spin Hamiltonians on $n$ qubits, going beyond bounds based only on circuit lightcones. The key input is the class's effective profile complexity, which is derived from the metric entropy of its Pauli profiles. These profiles record expectations of all Pauli operators supported on exactly $p$ qubits. Classes with uniformly bounded quadratic effective profile complexity remain separated from the ground-state energy by a positive multiple of $\sqrt n$ for sufficiently large fixed $p$. At subquadratic effective pr…

How to assess evidence about Physics
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
