Earlier sources: Physics
This science thread follows physics through original research, public projects, and source reports. Read the evidence below to see which developments are represented in SYMTRI’s archive.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗314 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Detecting falsified lane-changing behavior in connected automated vehicles using physics-guided neural networks ↗
As connected automated vehicles become integrated into modern transportation systems, cybersecurity vulnerabilities increasingly threaten traffic operations and safety. Falsified lane-changing (LC) behavior, induced by cyberattacks such as false data injection, can disrupt proper decision-making and degrade system performance. This study proposes a framework for detecting abnormal LC decisions under cyberattack. The framework comprises two modules: (i) LC decision prediction and (ii) detection of falsified behavior. For LC prediction, this study proposes a physics-guided neural network (PGNN)…

PhyRL-PINN: Full-scale adaptive physics-informed ship sideslip estimation via reinforcement-learning-guided parameter scheduling ↗
Estimating a navigation-derived proxy of the ground-referenced ship sideslip angle under real-sea conditions requires combining physical structure with data-driven flexibility. PhyRL-PINN is a physics-informed residual-regularized neural estimator with reinforcement-learning-guided coefficient scheduling. A reduced-order lateral-dynamics prior is retained, while an actor–critic scheduler infers regularized equivalent structural coefficients from causal measurement histories. Within each 12-s window, six coefficient vectors are inferred at consecutive 2-s subinterval endpoints for endpoint-cond…

Physics informed multiscale convolutional attention network for intelligent recognition of oil and gas pipeline leakage in ground penetrating radar data ↗
Oil and gas pipeline leakage poses substantial risks to safety and the environment. Ground-penetrating radar (GPR) offers unique advantages for early leakage detection, but current intelligent recognition methods face four bottlenecks: loss of reflection polarity, missing electromagnetic constraints, poor cross-view synergy across A/B/C tri-view data, and simulation-to-real distribution shift under data scarcity. This paper proposes PolMS-GPRNet, a physics-guided multi-scale convolutional attention network. The polarity-sensitive multi-scale attention module (PS-MSCA) explicitly preserves refl…

Frame-Rate-Independent High-Frequency 3D-DIC Vibration Measurement Enabled by Stroboscopic Equivalent-Time Sampling and Physics-Guided Spatiotemporal Filtering ↗
High-frequency full-field vibration measurement using three-dimensional digital image correlation (3D-DIC) is limited by the trade-off between camera frame rate, spatial resolution, and measurement noise. This study presents a method to overcome the frame-rate limitation of 3D-DIC vibration measurement by combining stroboscopic equivalent-time sampling with spatiotemporal noise decoupling. Short-pulse stroboscopic illumination freezes structural motion at different vibration phases, allowing a low-frame-rate stereo camera system to reconstruct high-frequency periodic responses through inter-cy…

Twisted Rényi negativity as a reliable proxy for mixed-state entanglement in fermionic systems ↗
Characterizing mixed-state entanglement in fermionic quantum matter represents a fundamental challenge at the intersection of condensed matter physics and quantum information. Unlike pure states, mixed states lack a universally accepted and easily computable entanglement measure, a difficulty compounded in fermionic systems by the ambiguity of the partial transpose operation. Here, motivated by the Hermiticity of the partially transposed density matrix and the analytic continuation of the Rényi negativity to logarithmic negativity, we address this puzzle by demonstrating the "twisted" Rényi ne…

Knowledge-grounded multimodal cognitive decision-making for aerospace machining: A physics-aware reasoning framework for generative process planning of special-shaped features ↗
Complex aerospace products encompass numerous special-shaped features (SSFs), whose machining processes rely on highly customized process planning. Traditional data-driven discriminative models predominantly operate as physics-agnostic "black boxes." Moreover, applying general-purpose Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) to manufacturing often causes "physical hallucinations", generating linguistically plausible but mechanically infeasible process plans. To bridge this gap, this paper proposes a Knowledge-Grounded Multimodal Cognitive Framework (KGMCF), which extends discriminative feature…

A novel transient zero-dimensional physics-based model of vanadium redox flow batteries with electrolyte crossover-induced capacity fade ↗
Conventional lumped models of vanadium redox flow batteries (VRBs) typically neglect bulk electrolyte transfer because its effects are often insignificant over short time scales. This simplification, however, prevents accurate representation of electrolyte crossover-induced volume imbalance and the associated capacity fade, limiting their applicability to performance prediction and control. This paper presents a novel transient zero-dimensional (0-D) physics-based VRB model that explicitly considers electrolyte migration mechanisms derived from first principles. The model corrects the convecti…

Fundamentals and applications of hybrid electro- and opto- mechanical system coupled to superconducting qubit: a short review ↗
Superconducting qubits, realised by incorporating Josephson junctions into superconducting circuits, behave as artificial atoms with anharmonic energy spectra and can be precisely controlled and measured using microwave cavities within the framework of circuit quantum electrodynamics (cQED). Since its emergence in the early 2000 s, cQED has established superconducting qubits as leading candidates for scalable quantum devices and has enabled the exploration of hybrid quantum systems that integrate disparate physical platforms. This review surveys superconducting hybrid quantum electromechanical…

Speed-Fisher Information: Chaos and Irreversibility in Classical and Quantum Dynamics ↗
We propose a unified perspective on classical and quantum chaos based on the sensitivity of a system's stationary states to slow driving. We probe this sensitivity via the system's susceptibility to the average protocol speed, which we call the ``speed-Fisher information," and relate it to irreversible entropy production in the system. We show that chaotic dynamics manifests as a divergence of the speed-Fisher information with the protocol time, and that this response is controlled by the perturbation's low-frequency spectral weight. This approach to chaos applies to both classical and quantum…

How to assess evidence about Physics
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
