THE INTERNET IS THINKING
Earlier sources: Hardware
Hardware is the physical foundation of computing: chips, sensors, devices, networks, and the processes that manufacture them. Follow semiconductor research, compute architectures, and engineering developments alongside their software and energy connections.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗521 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Model a real object exactly, take it apart, film it. A skill for coding agents: every number says where it came from, and a spec that does not add up is not rendered.

Thermal design, analysis, and experimental testing of a sun sensor for communications satellites ↗
Thermal design, analyses and tests for a newly developed sun sensor for geostationary communications satellites have been performed. Equipment-level thermal analyses of a sun sensor are performed using the ANSYS 19.2 thermal module for steady-state and and transient orbital analyses are performed using Systema Thermica 4.8.P1. The steady-state thermal analyses of the sun sensor are performed for four different cases. Two of the cases are executed to compare the analysis results with the thermal vacuum cycle test (TVAC) temperature measurements. The thermal mathematical model developed for ther…

Bio‐Inspired Reconstruction of Wood‐Chip Electrolytes Enables Triple Zn 2+ Confinement for Durable and Sustainable Flexible Zinc‐Air Batteries ↗
ABSTRACT Extending the operational lifetime of flexible zinc‐air batteries (ZABs) has traditionally focused on improving electrolyte water retention, yet most systems still fail within ∼400 h, revealing that dehydration alone is not the fundamental limitation. Here, a bio‐inspired hydrogel electrolyte reconstructed from wood chips overcomes this bottleneck by separating cellulose and lignin: cellulose forms a hydrated network while the extracted lignin is re‐applied as an outer water‐retentive layer, mimicking the hierarchical fiber‐bark architecture of plants. Beyond hydration, the electrolyt…

Firefly: A Low-Resolution Thermal Trigger for Gated Sensor Fusion in Human–Robot Collaborative Manufacturing ↗
Automated guided vehicles and mobile robots are present on many Intelligent Manufacturing factory floors. Approximately 7.0 million U.S. workers also work on those same floors. During 2011 through 2017, forklifts caused 614 worker fatalities. Currently, no commercially available collision-avoidance sensor can manage the complexity associated with working within a plant. Therefore, fusing multiple modalities allows a system designer to gate the more expensive ones behind some minimal signal that indicates all systems should be active. Such minimal signals are expected to include body heat that…

FusionLVIR: a multi-sensor mobile mapping framework with global anchoring and confidence-aware map maintenance for degenerate built environments ↗
Accurate long-range simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) in degenerate built environments such as tunnels, corridors, and repetitive structures remains challenging because weak observability causes drift accumulation and unreliable historical points progressively degrade map geometry. FusionLVIR, a multi-sensor mobile mapping framework built on the sequential LiDAR-camera-IMU estimator of FAST-LIVO2, is proposed to address these issues. RTK position observations are incorporated into the sequential error-state iterated Kalman filter of FAST-LIVO2 to provide intermittent global anchorin…

RESCUE-AR: Responsive Sensor-Fusion for Civil-Protection and Disaster Response Using Mobile Augmented Reality ↗
Rapid situational awareness is a cornerstone of effective civil protection and disaster response, demanding highly resilient localization and decision-support capabilities under challenging environmental conditions. This paper presents RESCUE-AR (Responsive Sensor-Fusion for Civil-Protection and Disaster Response Using Mobile Augmented Reality), a conceptual and methodological framework for mobile Augmented Reality (AR) systems designed to support emergency operations through heterogeneous and adaptive sensor fusion. This work formalizes the mathematical and algorithmic architecture of the RES…

MATH-SYNC: Robust and Identifiable Affine-Clock Alignment of Heterogeneous Multirate Sensor Streams ↗
Synchronizing heterogeneous multirate sensor streams is a prerequisite for valid event-related inference, yet practical multimodal systems combine independent clocks, unequal native sampling rates, missing synchronization anchors, timestamp jitter, and occasional gross timing errors. This study introduces MATH-SYNC, a robust affine-clock alignment framework that estimates a common temporal coordinate without forcing signals onto a shared sampling grid. An inverse affine-clock reparameterization yields a linear residual model after fixing a temporal gauge, and Huber M-estimation is implemented…

Biomachining in manufacturing: mechanisms, processes, applications and future perspectives ↗
Biomachining (BM) is an emerging bio-assisted manufacturing approach that uses microbial metabolism and bioelectrochemical reactions to remove material under mild conditions. Due to its low mechanical loading and limited thermal effects, BM has potential in low-damage microfabrication, surface functionalization, microfluidic mold fabrication, abrasive tool dressing, and functional device modification. This review critically summarizes BM with respect to removal mechanisms, process technologies, modeling and optimization strategies, manufacturing applications, and engineering challenges. The bi…

How to assess evidence about Hardware
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
