THE INTERNET IS THINKING
Earlier sources: Hardware
Hardware is the physical foundation of computing: chips, sensors, devices, networks, and the processes that manufacture them. Follow semiconductor research, compute architectures, and engineering developments alongside their software and energy connections.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗531 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Low-Cost Solid Electrolytes for All-Solid-State Batteries: Material Design, Scalable Manufacturing, and Perspectives on Commercialization ↗
Commercial deployment of all-solid-state batteries depends on scalable, economically viable production of solid electrolytes. Although ASSBs offer improved safety, thermal stability, and energy density, the high cost of solid electrolytes remains a major barrier to large-scale deployment. This mini-review evaluates sulfide, oxide, polymer, and halide electrolytes through a cost-focused lens, linking material selection with synthesis conditions, energy demand, manufacturing complexity, and scalability. We examine recent industrial developments and commercialization efforts to highlight the gap…

FJSP-E2E: A process-verified framework for automatic scheduling-model reconfiguration in smart manufacturing ↗
In smart manufacturing systems, scheduling models must be continuously reconfigured in response to machine failures, process changes, worker availability, tool constraints, AGV logistics, maintenance windows, and quality risks. Large language models (LLMs) provide a natural-language interface for translating shop-floor updates into executable scheduling models, but final objective-value checking is insufficient: an LLM may omit tool, worker, transport, or calendar constraints while still obtaining an accidentally correct makespan on a particular instance. This paper proposes FJSP-E2E, a proces…

A flexible dual‐gate thin‐film transistor‐based tactile sensor array with polarity‐aware encoding for neuromorphic recognition ↗
Abstract Flexible tactile sensing is pivotal for bridging the physical and digital worlds in embodied intelligence, enabling nuanced contact awareness for robotic manipulation and health monitoring. While piezoelectric sensors offer compelling advantages such as self‐powered operation and high dynamic sensitivity, their intrinsically high output impedance makes them highly susceptible to impedance mismatch and parasitic loading in conventional readout architectures, resulting in signal attenuation and rapid charge dissipation. In this work, we report a monolithically integrated flexible piezoe…

Hardware Acceleration of Stochastic Neural Networks Enabled by Bit‐Cell Level Co‐Design of Magnetic Tunnel Junctions ↗
ABSTRACT Processing‐in‐memory architectures mitigate data shuttling bottlenecks in deterministic AI workloads, but still depend on costly external entropy sources for probabilistic models. Here, we present a magnetic‐tunnel‐junction‐based processing‐in‐memory architecture that unifies data storage and massively parallel probabilistic computation for stochastic and deterministic neural networks. By introducing bit‐paired stochastic and stable magnetic tunnel junctions, we realize a multi‐precision stochastic memory cell that transduces stored binary weights into variance‐tunable stochastic bits…

Raft-Consistent Metadata with GPU-Accelerated Encryption for Secure HDFS ↗
In today’s cloud computing environments, large-scale data infrastructures like Hadoop are facingsevere challenges in providing efficient and secure static storage; these challenges stem fromlimitations in single algorithm encryption schemes as well as metadata management instability. This paper proposes a co-designed architecture demonstrating that metadata consistency andhigh-throughput encryption can be achieved simultaneously without performance trade-offs. Ourapproach integrates two components: (1) a Raft-consistent metadata service (RCMS) that replaces thesingle-point-of-failure NameNode w…

Area-Selective Atomic Layer Deposition for Next-Generation Semiconductor Processing: Mechanisms of Selectivity Breakdown and Process Integration Strategies ↗
As device miniaturization and three-dimensional integration progress, thin-film processes for semiconductor devices increasingly require atomic-level control not only of thickness and composition but also of growth location. Area-selective atomic layer deposition (AS-ALD) is a bottom-up process that exploits differences in surface reactivity between growth and non-growth areas to form thin films only at the intended locations. Because it enables self-aligned patterning and can reduce subsequent etching steps, AS-ALD has drawn attention as a candidate technology for next-generation semiconducto…

SecureFresh-WSN: An Energy-Aware and Trust-Based Clustering and Routing Protocol for Cyberattack-Resilient Wireless Sensor Networks ↗
Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) in critical environments need to conserve energy and deliver fresh information despite possible cyberattacks. Meeting these requirements remains a challenge. Classical protocols such as LEACH optimise energy but neglect security and freshness, while recent reinforcement-learning and fuzzy-trust methods address security at the expense of energy balance or data freshness. This paper proposes SecureFresh-WSN, a unified clustering and routing protocol that jointly balances the optimisation of energy consumption, cyberattack resilience, and Age-of-Information (AoI) f…

Task Allocation for Multi-UAV Multi-Sensor Collaborative Networking Based on Statistical Adaptive Genetic Algorithm ↗
Multi-UAV multi-sensor cooperative detection is critical for situational awareness in complex environments with stationary known targets. To overcome the shortcomings of existing task allocation models in fine-grained cooperation, stealth constraints, and large-scale optimization, this paper proposes a new offline mission pre-planning method for static target scenarios. A five-layer hierarchical resource scheduling model is established, covering task, UAV platform, sensor type, cooperative mode, and execution role. Stealth requirements are incorporated as hard constraints, and a bi-objective o…

Interfacial control of boundary-laser-driven photo-thermoelastic wave dynamics in imperfect semiconductor heterojunctions ↗
Rapid laser excitation of semiconductor heterojunctions produces localized temperature gradients, carrier accumulation, and interfacial stresses that can impair device performance and reliability. This study develops a two-dimensional photo-thermoelastic model to determine how mechanical, thermal, and electronic interface imperfections control coupled wave transmission across a GaAs/ Al 0.3 Ga 0.7 As heterojunction. Its main contribution is the simultaneous treatment of finite normal and tangential stiffnesses, Kapitza thermal resistance, band-dependent carrier partition, limited carrier trans…

A Context-Aware Framework for Optimal Filter Parameter Selection: Enhancing PRV Estimation in Wearable Wrist PPG Signals ↗
Wearable biosensing allows for continuous monitoring and intervention in daily settings. Wrist photoplethysmography (PPG) is a commonly used method for measuring cardiac activity ambulatorily. A typical data preprocessing step is to apply a fixed, one-size-fits-all band-pass filter before peak detection and pulse rate variability (PRV) calculation. However, our analyses reveal that fixed filtering can cause significant errors in PRV estimation even with minimal motion artifacts, and the best filter settings differ across individuals and contextual states. Based on these findings, we introduce…

How to assess evidence about Hardware
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
