THE INTERNET IS THINKING

Earlier sources: Crypto

Crypto covers cryptographic networks, digital assets, and applications built on shared ledgers. Follow Bitcoin, Ethereum, protocols, stablecoins, and onchain applications. Technical activity does not establish an asset’s investment value or safety.

SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.

72 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.

Earlier sources

Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Verifiable Randomness for Blockchain-Based Lottery Systems ↗

As lotteries and other high-stakes decentralized applications increasingly depend on unpredictable randomness for their operations, the lack of a secure and transparent on-chain random number generator that is verifiable by all participants remains a critical open problem. Various approaches to blockchain-based random number generation have emerged over the years, each with their own strengths and limitations, and have consistently been superseded as blockchain technology evolved. This paper surveys existing approaches to on-chain randomness and proposes a new platform that builds upon the wel…

Blockchain as a Foundational Infrastructure for Collaborative Logistics: A Multi-Theoretical Lifecycle Framework ↗

Collaborative logistics offers substantial economic, environmental, and operational benefits, yet many collaborations fail to endure. This paper argues that blockchain should be understood not as an efficiency tool but as institutional infrastructure that supports trust, governance, coordination, and organizational memory across the collaboration lifecycle. Integrating transaction cost economics, network governance theory, the natural-resource-based view with dynamic capabilities, and socio-technical systems theory with the multi-level perspective, the paper develops a lifecycle framework span…

Sustainability-Oriented Circular Battery Lifecycle Governance for Renewable Energy Communities: Blockchain, Smart Contracts, Digital Passports, and Material-Recovery Accountability ↗

Sustainability in renewable energy communities requires battery reuse and recovery benefits to be assessed alongside diagnostic reliability, governance costs and digital-infrastructure burdens. This study develops a sustainability-oriented permissioned governance design combining digital battery passports, signed lifecycle rules and material-recovery accountability. Four reference configurations are compared for 5000 synthetic retired packs across 100 replications. Favorable smart-contract outcomes follow assigned capabilities, not measured adoption effects. Equal-capability controls and two 3…

A Lightweight Ethereum Voting Prototype for Hospital Ethics Committees with Receipt-Based Inclusion Verification ↗

This paper presents a Solidity, Hardhat, React, MetaMask, and ethers.js prototype for hospital ethics committee voting. Role controls, case-state checks, duplicate vote controls, and a receipt hash support public audit and transaction inclusion verification. Because vote events expose wallet addresses and vote values, the design provides pseudonymous auditability, not anonymous or secret-ballot voting; the receipt is neither receipt-free nor coercion-resistant. Evaluation reports 22 passing functional tests and local Hardhat gas use, including 284,137 gas per vote. A 12-participant simulation…

Local electricity price effects of Bitcoin mining in renewable-rich energy systems ↗

Load-shifting is increasingly important in renewable-rich energy systems. Bitcoin mining is often cited as a large, theoretically flexible load. Despite electricity consumption rivaling medium-sized industrial economies, the energy market behavior and impacts of Bitcoin miners remain largely unexplored. We exploit the large-scale relocation of Bitcoin mining to Texas, which became the world's largest mining hub following China's 2021 ban, to estimate its effects on local wholesale electricity prices. Combining a hand-collected dataset on mining facility locations with high-frequency wholesale…

How to assess evidence about Crypto

Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
