THE INTERNET IS THINKING
Earlier sources: Software
Software turns computational ideas into tools and services. This region follows open source projects, developer tools, programming languages, databases, operating systems, and web and cloud platforms.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗2049 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

AegisAsync: Symbolic Async-Event Simulation for Risks in Python Asynchronous Programs ↗
Security and robustness risks in Python async programs depend on event order, object identity, and execution after exceptions or cancellation. Detecting these risks requires connecting related operations across function calls and tracking their effects along execution paths. We present AegisAsync, a bytecode-based analysis of Python async risks for CPython 3.10-3.14. Its Async Event Transition Graph combines bytecode control flow, resolved calls, async events, and symbolic object relations. Bounded path-local simulation tracks event order and object states and explores cancellation at await su…

Show HN: Pippin – macOS High-Performance Screen Sharing Client for Linux ↗
Hi HN, I built pippin, a native Rust client for macOS's "High-Performance" Screen Sharing mode on Linux. There are lots of options that can get you usable, high resolution remote access to macOS from non-Apple devices, but until recently there were no options that did not require installing and maintaining a server on your Mac. Apple normally restricts High-Performance Screen Sharing (HEVC 4:4:4 video, system audio, and dynamic display resizing)…

How to assess evidence about Software
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
