THE INTERNET IS THINKING

Earlier sources: Software

Software turns computational ideas into tools and services. This region follows open source projects, developer tools, programming languages, databases, operating systems, and web and cloud platforms.

SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.

2063 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.

Earlier sources

Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Ghostline: a six-node Wi-Fi CSI motion tracker with node-to-node Links. System description and a pilot evaluation ↗

Ghostline is a device-free motion tracking system built on six ESP32-S3 Wi-Fi boards and one consumer router. The boards' Wi-Fi driver reports channel state information (CSI) for every received frame with the sender's address, and a modified open-source firmware forwards both, so every board carries a CSI stream for the router and for each other board: seven radios give up to 36 directed Links over 21 Spans instead of a star of six. Each Link is compared with a self-forming quiet Baseline, disturbed Links vote on a floor grid, and the grid becomes anonymous Tracks. The system was built and run…

PreciseCoder: Faithful and Generalizable Debugging Beyond Unit-Test Rewards ↗

Reinforcement learning (RL) from unit tests is the common recipe for post-training code models, but a unit test only asks whether the final program passes. We analyze what this unit-test-only reward teaches a model during debugging and find that, while it raises pass rates, it also teaches the model to edit more and to hallucinate bugs in code that is already correct. We introduce PreciseCoder, a training algorithm that augments the unit-test reward with a signal for semantically verified, localized edits, which correlates with smaller edits and higher pass rates. On 4B, 9B, and 27B models, Pr…

SolBehave: Evaluating the Behavioural Correctness of LLM-Generated Smart Contracts ↗

Large language models increasingly generate Solidity smart contracts that, once deployed, can never be patched, making a single latent fault permanent and exploitable. Yet current evaluations mostly ask only whether generated code compiles. We introduce SolBehave, a benchmark for evaluating the correctness of model-generated contracts at scale, moving beyond ad hoc unit tests. Across 250 real, reproducible Ethereum contracts, we apply three complementary tests of behavioural fidelity: differential fuzzing, historical-transaction replay, and, as our core contribution, synthetic-transaction repl…

How to assess evidence about Software

Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
