THE INTERNET IS THINKING
Earlier sources: Software
Software turns computational ideas into tools and services. This region follows open source projects, developer tools, programming languages, databases, operating systems, and web and cloud platforms.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗2026 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Show HN: I made a browser-based instrument out of the CHOMPI CLUB source ↗
A few days ago Chase Bliss open sourced the CHOMPI Club source code under an MIT license https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=49912048 so I've been working on an AU/VST3/AAX plug-in. The plug-in includes all the samples so it's a bit heavy, so I decided to add WASM as a compilation target and compile it directly for the browser. I've built an interactive tutorial and added UX enhancements to make editing it easier. For those of you who don't know…

Practical Runtime Enforcement of First-Order Temporal Requirements ↗
Runtime enforcers observe a system's behavior and exert control over it to ensure that the system always adheres to its requirements. Many natural requirements not only formulate restrictions on the system's present behavior, but also impose obligations on its future behavior; for instance, agentic security may require personal data collected during a run to be erased by some deadline. In an ever-growing compliance landscape, real-world systems may be subject to hundreds of such requirements. However, existing enforcement mechanisms supporting complex policies are often too slow for production…

Parallel Architectures For Priority Scheduling In Programmable Data Plane Switches ↗
Programmable Data Plane (PDP) switches enable flexible packet processing but remain limited in scheduling capabilities, particularly for priority-based policies that require strict ordering of packets according to user-defined ranks. An earlier work, called Push-in First-out (PIFO), proposed a priority queue that enables ordering enqueued packets based on their priority. It provided an ideal abstraction for programmable packet scheduling; however, its requirement for line-rate packet sorting makes it impractical at high network speeds (100 Gbps and beyond). Approximate schedulers such as SPPIF…

How to assess evidence about Software
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
