THE INTERNET IS THINKING
Earlier sources: Software
Software turns computational ideas into tools and services. This region follows open source projects, developer tools, programming languages, databases, operating systems, and web and cloud platforms.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗2028 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Diffusion-Based Stress Testing of Overload Monitoring for Resilient Emergency Cellular Networks Using Internet CDR Proxies ↗
Disasters can overload cellular control-plane signaling within minutes, yet fine-grained Radio Resource Control (RRC) or Next Generation (NG) Application Protocol (NGAP) telemetry is privacy-sensitive and costly to collect for analytics. Many emergency monitoring pipelines therefore rely on coarse Call Detail Record (CDR) aggregates. We treat Internet activity in CDR grids as a practical proxy for hidden signaling stress under that constraint. We train a lightweight convolutional neural network (CNN) on stylized overload injections, stress-test it with diffusion-synthesized surges that preserv…

DreamTest: World-Model Surrogates for Search-Based Testing of Deep Reinforcement Learning Agents ↗
Testing deep reinforcement learning (DRL) agents in cyber-physical systems aims to uncover diverse failures before deployment, but each execution can be expensive. Surrogate-assisted testing reduces this cost by learning to predict which test configurations are likely to fail. Prior surrogates treat the system as a black box and predict pass or fail outcomes directly; we instead model how a test unfolds and estimate failure from an imagined episode. We introduce DreamTest, a world-model surrogate for testing DRL agents. DreamTest adapts a recurrent state-space model to learn agent behaviour an…

Timely Persuasion with Opposing Senders: When Does Competition Help the Receiver? ↗
Status updates let a receiver track a changing process, but a sender that controls when they are sent can steer the receiver's estimate without misreporting. We study competition between two such senders with opposing preferences, who report on a binary continuous-time Markov chain using state-dependent Poisson rates under individual budgets. The receiver follows the reports through a zero-order-hold estimator only if this yields at least the long-run weighted correct-estimation utility of a prior-based default estimate. We model the interaction as a Stackelberg game in which the sender favore…

Noise-Resilient Testing of Quantum Programs Based on Output Dominance ↗
Quantum software testing (QST) is a central quality-assurance activity for checking whether quantum programs conform to their specifications. In the noisy intermediate-scale quantum (NISQ) era, gate, decoherence, and measurement errors distort observed outputs, making it difficult to distinguish program defects from noise. The existing noise-aware QST literature typically mitigates or models noise before applying a test oracle. However, these strategies can incur substantial cost and depend on calibration data, model training, or backend-specific information, limiting their applicability. We p…

How to assess evidence about Software
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
