THE INTERNET IS THINKING
Earlier sources: Software
Software turns computational ideas into tools and services. This region follows open source projects, developer tools, programming languages, databases, operating systems, and web and cloud platforms.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗2057 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Genome-Wide Identification and Expression Pattern Analysis of the Phenylalanine Ammonia-Lyase (PAL) Gene Family in Wheat Under Stripe Rust ↗
Phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (PAL) has been identified as the key rate-limiting enzyme of the phenylpropanoid metabolic pathway, which affects the synthesis of plant secondary metabolites and stress responses. To investigate the composition and function of the PAL gene family in wheat against wheat stripe rust, 54 TaPAL gene family members were identified based on the wheat IWGSC RefSeq v2.1 genome data. Phylogenetic analysis of PAL proteins from wheat, maize, rice, tobacco, and Arabidopsis indicated that wheat PAL genes are more closely related to those of maize and rice. Promoter analysis rev…

Container Ship Loading and Unloading Volume Forecast Based on Route-Terminal Combination Entities: A Case Study of Shenzhen SCCT ↗
Accurate short-term container throughput volume (CTV) forecasting is crucial for optimizing yard management and port operational efficiency. However, conventional forecasting frameworks typically assume deterministic vessel-side container volumes, neglecting the lag and uncertainty inherent to Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) pre-allocation data in terminal operations. To address these critical gaps, we develop a short-term forecasting framework structured around fine-grained Route-Terminal combination entities, grounded in the real-world operational requirements of South China Container Term…

A Catboost-Based Machine Learning Approach for Fault Detection in VSC-Based Multi-Terminal HVDC Grid ↗
High-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission systems face protection challenges due to the absence of natural current zero-crossings and the rapid rise of fault currents. This paper proposes a hierarchical fault detection and classification framework for multi-terminal HVDC networks that combines transient feature extraction with gradient boosting decision trees. The proposed method utilizes traveling wave transients distinguish between internal and external faults across a range of fault resistances and noise levels. The three-stage architecture employs asymmetric loss weighting to maintai…

Blockchain as a Trajectory in a Graph Database: A Model for Ethereum Transaction Analytics ↗
Blockchain platforms generate large volumes of interconnected transactional data, whose analysis can reveal important patterns of account activity, user interaction, and value transfers. This paper proposes a graph database model for representing and analyzing Ethereum blockchain data. The proposed model captures accounts, blocks, and external and internal transactions as graph nodes, while relationships represent the decomposition of external transactions into internal transactions, sender and receiver participation, temporal block succession, and transaction recording. By interpreting the bl…

Elevated String-Rail as a Novel Container Transportation Technology in European Ports: A Quay-Interface Simulation and Analytical Assessment of Ship Handling, Terminal Land Use and Road Traffic ↗
Elevated string-rail systems, in which unmanned electric vehicles run on steel wheels along a prestressed rail carried on slender supports, have been proposed as a way of moving containers between a quay and an inland terminal without using the road network. Their developers claim gains in ship handling speed, terminal land use and emissions at the same time, but none of these claims has been tested against measured port performance. This study assesses such a link at eight European container ports handling between 0.4 and 14.2 million TEU. The assessment combines two distinct components: a di…

How to assess evidence about Software
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
