THE INTERNET IS THINKING
Earlier sources: Software
Software turns computational ideas into tools and services. This region follows open source projects, developer tools, programming languages, databases, operating systems, and web and cloud platforms.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗2060 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

A flow shop scheduling problem incorporating a reconfigurable material handling Robot: A constraint programming approach ↗
A reconfigurable manufacturing system (RMS) is a new paradigm for the manufacturing environment to respond to unpredictable market change and frequent new product introduction. One of the components of an RMS is a reconfigurable material handling system (RMHS). This paper investigates the permutation flow shop scheduling problem in a manufacturing system with RMHS. Hence, first, a novel Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) model is developed. Then, to tackle the inherent complexity of the problem, an efficient constraint programming (CP) approach is devised. Finally, comprehensive computati…

Robust Quantile-Structure Inversion for Cloud Model Parameter Identification ↗
Cloud-model hyper-entropy can be overestimated when a scale-inflated subpopulation broadens the tails. We develop a quantile-based estimator that removes location and common scale before recovering cloud shape. Influence normalization balances the selected contrasts, and a prespecified correction addresses centered scale inflation. The theory proves global injectivity of the shape-contrast map for every positive shape ratio, establishes local stability under data and numerical-score perturbations, derives a mixed-rate limit for the singular cloud center, and gives boundary-projected and fixed-…

Enhanced Filtering Algorithms for the Euclidean Traveling Salesperson Problem and Its Variants In Constraint Logic Programming ↗
Abstract The Traveling Salesperson Problem (TSP) is one of the best-known problems in computer science and arises in many engineering applications, such as smart vehicles and intelligent transportation systems. In the “Euclidean” case, each node is defined by its coordinates in the plane and distances are computed using the Euclidean metric. In the Constraint Programming (CP) literature, the Euclidean TSP is typically addressed by computing the full distance matrix and treating it as a general case; however this approach ignores the geometric information carried by the points’ coordinates. In…

Recomb-Mix Cloud: a cost-efficient and scalable cloud-friendly pipeline for local ancestry inference ↗
Local ancestry inference (LAI) reveals population compositions of an individual's chromosomes, which empowers population genetics and genetic association studies of diverse populations. The recent availability of large genomic datasets from biobanks offers unprecedented opportunities for LAI. However, such datasets are typically only accessible from cloud-based platforms, and the lack of efficient and cost-effective tooling makes LAI prohibitive for resource-constrained researchers. Here, we develop Recomb-Mix Cloud, a cloud-ready pipeline for LAI based on Recomb-Mix, a recently introduced eff

Programming primary human T cells to deliver gene editing machinery ↗
Clinical applications of gene editors including CRISPR-Cas9 are limited by the cell-type specificity and tissue penetrance of current in vivo delivery options. Cell-mediated gene editor delivery could overcome these obstacles. To date, systems utilizing immortalized cell lines have demonstrated gene editor delivery in vitro. Because T cells traffic throughout the organism and engage in intercellular communication with individual target cells, we wondered whether they could be engineered to deliver gene editing machinery. Here, we demonstrate that primary human T cells can produce retroviral-ba

Show HN: Grist, open source coding harness ↗
I built a coding harness on top of the new Opencode v2, it started with the the idea of using the new jev model for routing easy tasks to cheaper models such as deepseek and hard tasks to models such as Opus 5.5. In total in separated it into 4 rungs - easy, medium, hard and frontier. Two more layers compound the savings: the Sol-Pi methodology based on the recently published paper which uses action fusion and observation packing and cuts roken u…

Show HN: Pyxel – A Python retro game engine with built-in art and sound editors ↗
Hi HN, I'm the creator of Pyxel, a free, MIT-licensed retro game engine for Python. I've been developing it since 2018, and it recently passed 18,000 stars on GitHub. Pyxel includes pixel art, tilemap, sound, and music editors, so you can create a game's visuals and audio as well as write its code in Python. The engine itself is implemented in Rust. Games run on Windows, macOS, Linux, and the web, as well as supported Linux-based retro handhelds.…

How to assess evidence about Software
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
