SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗685 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

A two-stage deep learning approach for multiclass DGA-based malware communication detection and classification in DoH network traffic ↗
The adoption of DNS over HTTPS (DoH) has substantially improved user privacy by encrypting DNS queries, but it has also introduced new opportunities for attackers to hide Domain Generation Algorithm (DGA)-based malware communications. In this study, we propose a novel two-stage deep learning framework that integrates an Autoencoder (AE) with Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks for detecting and classifying DGA-based malware in DoH traffic. The first stage employs an AE for dimensionality reduction and optimal feature extraction, followed by hybrid feature sele…

An RLWE-Based Privacy-Preserving Key Agreement Method for Offshore Wind Farms ↗
Offshore wind farms are representative unmanned energy systems whose operation relies heavily on remote information exchange between offshore substations and onshore centralized control centers. However, the cross-sea communication link is vulnerable to cyberattacks, including impersonation and message tampering, and these threats persist in the quantum computing era, potentially compromising operational decision-making and control. To address this problem, this paper proposes a privacy-preserving key agreement method based on the Ring Learning With Errors (RLWE) problem. First, identity priva…

European autonomy, competitiveness and security in the new space era ↗
Europe is lagging behind the US and China in the new space era. Accounting for only 11% of the global institutional space budget, Europe must transition from fragmented, slow-moving institutional programmes to a highly coordinated, pragmatic strategy that balances strategic sovereignty with operational realism. This article outlines how Europe can boost its autonomy, macroeconomic competitiveness and national security in space. First, Europe must develop sovereign, reusable heavy-lift launch capabilities while streamlining procurement for innovative small and medium-sized enterprises. Second,…

Androgen receptor condensates drive gastric cancer through SWI/SNF-mediated chromatin remodeling and create a therapeutic vulnerability ↗
Abstract Gastric cancer (GC) remains a leading cause of cancer mortality, with epidemiological patterns indicative of androgen signaling involvement. We establish androgen receptor (AR) as a pivotal oncogenic factor in GC and provide preclinical validation for its therapeutic targeting. AR expression was significantly elevated in GC tissues and correlated with adverse prognosis across ten independent cohorts ( n = 1740). We demonstrate that AR promotes tumor proliferation in cell and organoid models. Mechanistically, AR undergoes liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS) to form biomolecular conde…

Decoupling Network Layer Location and Transport Layer Identity for Communication Flow Privacy ↗
Although the tracking of a user’s network location is often considered a violation of privacy, building technical guarantees of topological location privacy (and geolocation by inference) is difficult: topological location information is encoded in the Internet Protocol (IP) address, and is necessarily exposed both to endpoints and along the communication path, for correct packet forwarding. Existing defences either extend the trust boundary to a third party (e.g., Virtual Private Networks (VPNs)), or operate at the application layer (e.g., Tor), and do not provide a general defence for all pr…

Deterministic Enforcement of Orbit-Derived Maintenance Exclusion Windows for Vulnerability Remediation in a Simulated Satellite Ground Segment ↗
Satellite ground segments run conventional, patchable software, but disruptive maintenance must be coordinated with recurring orbital visibility. We formulate vulnerability remediation as a constrained action-and-timing problem in which SGP4-propagated visibility intervals and a pre-contact guard band define protected intervals, and a deterministic gate admits or rejects each action over a recovery-aware execution envelope containing the action, its verification, and any rollback. The enforcement property is stated as a proved conditional invariant, and the experiments test conformance to it r…

Robust phishing URL detection using FastText embeddings and deep sequential models ↗
Phishing attacks are increasingly prevalent, leading to the loss of assets, financial information, personal data, and other sensitive information to malicious actors. Various detection methods have been developed to protect users from such attacks. Traditional phishing Uniform Resource Locator (URL) detection methods, such as blacklisting and heuristics, rely on maintaining lists of known phishing URLs. However, these techniques struggle to identify new unlisted URLs and are expensive to maintain. In recent years, there has been a shift toward deep learning techniques, which are particularly e…

Security Considerations on Three CPSs in Evolution: ROS, SCADA and OPC UA ↗
Over the last few years, cyber-physical systems (CPSs) have come to play a central role in critical infrastructures, manufacturing, transport, and robotics. As a consequence, their lack of security increasingly affects the physical world, possibly causing material damage, environmental harm, and even loss of life. This paper reviews the evolution of CPSs over the last decade and highlights their main security issues and remedies. Some particularly relevant software infrastructures and communication protocols are analyzed in detail, such as the Robot Operating System (ROS), Supervisory Control…

Knowledge-Graph-Enabled Product Digital Twin for State-Conditioned Recovery in Resilient Manufacturing-as-a-Service ↗
Operational resilience in Manufacturing-as-a-Service (MaaS) networks depends on maintaining and restoring order fulfilment when disruptions affect manufacturing services whose capacity is shared across multiple products. A disruption can extend beyond the initially affected order because recovery alternatives may compete with existing capacity commitments. Repairing only the disrupted order may therefore overlook spillover effects, whereas reoptimising the entire network may unnecessarily reopen unaffected commitments and increase computational effort. The recovery boundary therefore depends o…

Frequency-guided adaptive privacy masking network ↗
Medical image sharing and collaborative analysis have become essential for advancing diagnostic capabilities across healthcare institutions, yet they introduce substantial privacy risks when sensitive patient information is exposed during transmission or processing. Existing approaches to privacy preservation in medical imaging suffer from fundamental limitations: image-level obfuscation methods inevitably degrade diagnostic utility, cryptographic techniques impose prohibitive computational overhead, and federated learning remains vulnerable to gradient-based inference attacks. This paper prop…

How to assess evidence about Security
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
