SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗688 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

A novel attribute-based searchable encryption scheme with attribute revocation ↗
In this paper, a searchable attribute-based encryption scheme with attribute revocation is proposed to solve the problem of secure data sharing and efficient retrieval in cloud storage. Based on the bilinear pairings construction, the scheme includes five algorithms: system initialization, key generation, data encryption, search and decryption, and attribute revocation, which realizes fine-grained access control and keyword ciphertext search. Through the attribute update key mechanism, the key and ciphertext can bes updated without re-encryption when the user attribute changes. Security analys…

Energy-Security Pathways in the Global Energy Transition: Latent-Class Evidence on Import Dependence, Renewables and Generation Diversity ↗
Energy security has re-emerged as a central challenge of the global energy transition because countries must simultaneously reduce import exposure, integrate renewables, diversify electricity systems and maintain a reliable and affordable energy supply. This study aims to identify heterogeneous pathways to national energy security by examining how import dependence, renewable electricity deployment, generation diversity, nuclear availability, energy efficiency and economic development shape Energy Security Scores across countries. The analysis uses a panel of 121 countries over 2000–2023, with…

"We Wanted to Do Better Than the Law": Exploring UI/UX Designers' Privacy Advocacy in Practice ↗
Designers hold primary responsibility for shaping the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) of a product. This role goes beyond aesthetics and usability, extending to the privacy outcomes of user experience, which often emerge through collaboration with other stakeholders such as developers, product managers, and marketing teams. Previous studies on enhancing privacy for technological products primarily focused on the roles of developers—understanding their needs and challenges—but limited effort is devoted to examining how UI/UX designers consider and approach privacy in their work. Th…

A novel hybrid multilayer hyper chaotic and nonlinear modular encryption algorithm for enhancing the security of multimedia information in IoT video codecs H.264 and H.265 ↗
Several multimedia encryption algorithms suffer from security and performance limitations, including low resistance to cyberattacks, high computational overhead, potential quality degradation, and codec format incompatibility. To address these challenges, we proposed an encryption framework that integrates hybrid multi-layer hyper chaotic modules. The Cross-Coupled Logistic Confusion Engine provides initial masking and high-entropy diffusion, while the Lorenz Chaotic Fusion Scheme enables dynamic 3Dimensional substitution and cross-dimensional diffusion. The Hybrid hyper-chaotic-Based Confusio…

Smishing risk assessment using RAG and its potential for pedagogical recontextualization for cybersecurity education ↗
SMS phishing (“smishing”) is an escalating threat that exploits mobile messaging to deliver malicious links. We present an explainable retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) prototype that flags smishing in Lithuanian SMS and explains its reasoning. The system extracts text from screenshots and evaluates each message against five criteria: search engine indexing, domain allow listing, use of a URL shortener, matches in a phishing database, and semantic similarity to labeled messages. An LLM dynamically weights these factors, generates a risk score ranging from 0 to 100, and provides a natural-la…

CVE-2026-94127: F5 BIG-IP APM Heap-based Buffer Overflow Vulnerability ↗
F5 BIG-IP APM contains a heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability when access policy and an OAuth profile are configured on a virtual server. This vulnerability could allow an unauthenticated attacker to perform remote code execution. Required action: Apply mitigations in accordance with vendor instructions, ensuring compliance with CISA’s BOD 26-04 Prioritizing Security Updates Based on Risk (see URL in Notes) guidance and CISA’s “Forensics Triage Requirements” (see URL in Notes). Follow applicable BOD 26-04 guidance for cloud services or discontinue use of the product if mitigations are unav

CVE-2026-93952: Arista VeloCloud Orchestrator Improper Input Validation Vulnerability ↗
Arista VeloCloud Orchestrator (VCO) on-prem contains an improper input validation vulnerability that may allow a remote attacker to access privileged internal functionality and impact the VCO host. Successful exploitation may compromise the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the orchestrator and data managed by the orchestrator. How to assess evidence about Security
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
