THE INTERNET IS THINKING
Earlier sources: Cryptography
This security thread follows cryptography through original research, public projects, and source reports. Read the evidence below to see which developments are represented in SYMTRI’s archive.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗44 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

A hybrid encryption algorithm based on AES and Kyber for secure image protection in the post-quantum era ↗
The exponential rise in the sharing of multimedia information is accompanied by an increase in vulnerability during data exchange. As quantum computing is threatening the fundamentals of classical cryptography, it is important that multimedia data be protected by quantum-secured encryption techniques. Hybrid encryption that combines symmetric cyphers with post-quantum key encapsulation is an established architectural pattern, but its use for image data has not been explored in depth. This paper presents Quantum Good Privacy (QGP), a hybrid image-encryption scheme that combines AES-256 in Ciphe…

Zeppelin: Client-Side BFV Encryption and Decryption for Helium-Powered Microcontrollers ↗
The growth of the Internet of Things (IoT) has raised concerns over the privacy of data collected by resource-constrained sensing devices. Homomorphic encryption (HE) addresses this by letting a device encrypt its data once and an untrusted cloud server compute on the ciphertext without seeing the values. In practice, HE's memory and computational cost have kept it out of reach of microcontroller-class devices. Prior work, SEAL-Embedded, made this feasible using CKKS, but left three gaps: its arithmetic is entirely scalar, even on hardware with a vector instruction set; it never decrypts on th…

HE-OFT: Privacy-Preserving One-Shot Federated Fine-Tuning under Homomorphic Encryption ↗
Many organizations adapt large pretrained models to their own tasks by fine-tuning on private data. Several of these parties often hold data for the same task and wish to fine-tune a model together without pooling that data. Federated learning (FL) enables joint fine-tuning, but reconstruction attacks on shared intermediate values (the model or its gradients) remain a privacy risk. A one-shot protocol that exchanges one encrypted contribution exposes no intermediate value. Such a protocol still gives the trained model to every participant, which is not permitted where the model is a regulated…

Deterministic Mamdani fuzzy-controlled KAA and hybrid logistic–sine chaotic image encryption with AES S-box substitution ↗
In this digital era, the rapid growth of imaging applications in cloud, medical, and IoT environments requires secure and efficient encryption techniques capable of addressing pixel redundancy and statistical correlations. This study proposes a deterministic entropy-controlled image encryption framework that integrates Mamdani fuzzy inference, hybrid chaotic systems, and selective nonlinear substitution. The proposed framework utilizes image statistical characteristics, including entropy, mean, and contrast, to adaptively regulate chaotic initialization, substitution probability, and diffusion…

How to assess evidence about Cryptography
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
