THE INTERNET IS THINKING
Earlier sources: Hardware
Hardware is the physical foundation of computing: chips, sensors, devices, networks, and the processes that manufacture them. Follow semiconductor research, compute architectures, and engineering developments alongside their software and energy connections.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗510 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Material extrusion-based additive manufacturing of aluminum feedstocks with a focus on the debinding process ↗
Abstract This study investigates the printability, debinding, and sinterability of aluminum-based (AA6061) feedstocks prepared with three different commercial thermoplastic binder compositions, with focus on the effect of the post-processing on microstructure and densification during sintering. Two debinding approaches were studied: (i) solvent debinding followed by thermal debinding, and (ii) single-step wick debinding, in which the green parts were embedded in a powder bed. Debinding is the most challenging stage for Al-containing feedstocks. The strong tendency of aluminum to oxidize signif…

A Unified Instruction-Set-Based Hardware Architecture for ML-KEM and CRYSTALS-Kyber ↗
The public-key cryptography, based on integer factorization and discrete logarithms, is facing more and more severe threats from large-scale quantum computers. NIST selected CRYSTALS-Kyber and subsequently standardized its refined version as ML-KEM. This paper presents a unified instruction-set-based FPGA architecture supporting ML-KEM and CRYSTALS-Kyber across all three parameter sets. A custom 64-bit instruction set supports primitive operations and autonomous key generation, encapsulation, and decapsulation. Shared transform, hash/sampling, and codec accelerators execute both protocols with…

Pulse vs. R-R Interval: Validity and Reliability of the Garmin Elevate v4 Sensor for Ultra-Short HR and HRV Monitoring in Healthy Adults ↗
Accurate resting heart rate (HR) and heart rate variability (HRV) monitoring is crucial for evaluating autonomic nervous system balance and guiding training. This study investigated the validity and reliability of the Garmin Forerunner 955 smartwatch (Elevate v4 sensor) against an electrocardiogram (ECG) reference for measuring resting HR and photoplethysmography (PPG)-derived pulse rate variability (PRV), evaluated through the root mean square of successive differences (rMSSDPRV), compared to reference ECG-derived HRV (rMSSDHRV). Twenty-three healthy adults underwent simultaneous assessments…

Using a MEMS All-Quartz Fiber-Optic Fabry–Pérot High-Temperature Pressure Sensor Based on a Nanoforest Array to Enhance Interference Signals ↗
This paper presents and experimentally demonstrates an all-quartz fiber-optic Fabry–Pérot (FP) high-temperature pressure sensor with interference signal enhancement based on micro-electro-mechanical system (MEMS) technology. By incorporating a nanoforest array and an optical microsphere lens, the quality of the optical interference signal generated by the multilayer fiber-optic FP sensing structure is effectively enhanced. MEMS fabrication and high-temperature bonding techniques are employed to enable batch fabrication of the sensing units, while laser fusion splicing is utilized to achieve ad…

Flexible Insole with Soft, Integrated, Polymeric Pressure Sensors to Discriminate Different Types of Gaits Using Machine Learning Techniques ↗
Wearable sensors offer promising solutions for continuous gait monitoring in healthcare, rehabilitation, and sports. In this paper, a novel, soft, flexible, and easily made wearable sensor to detect the pressure generated by human gait was developed. The sensor consists of a soft polyurethane foam functionalized with a PEDOT:PSS aqueous solution designed to integrate the active material and develop a piezoresistive device. Eight soft sensors have been integrated into an insole, with dedicated readout electronic circuitry, including an accelerometer, a gyroscope, and a Bluetooth communication t…

Spatial Decoupling of Foot-Substrate Cross-Talk in Plantar Pressure Sensor Arrays ↗
Measuring plantar pressure with smart insoles is widely used in gait analysis, medical rehabilitation, and clinical monitoring, but the continuous elastomeric layers of hybrid footwear transmit force between adjacent sensors and produce mechanical cross-talk that distorts local readings. The objective of this study was to develop a deterministic framework that identifies the spatial mechanical influence between sensors and compensates for it after signal acquisition. Controlled vertical loads were applied individually to each sensor, while the responses of all sensors were recorded each time a…

Mapping intelligent manufacturing implementation barriers to industry 5.0 pillars: Evidence from the electronics industry ↗
Subject to global economic headwinds, electronics manufacturing is at the cusp of a transition. Several factors, ranging from geopolitics to technological innovation, have challenged manufacturing at a global scale in the form of uncertainties and disruptions. The emergence of digitally empowered, resilient and sustainable manufacturing has led to the development of Intelligent Manufacturing (IM). The purpose of the study is to identify the barriers of IM systems in electronics manufacturing. In this research, critical barriers that hinder the implementation of IM have been identified and anal…

Runtime Governance of Competing Actuation Requests in Multi-Service Digital Twins for Manufacturing Cells ↗
Manufacturing-cell digital twins increasingly combine independently developed services that can influence shared physical resources. When several state-changing services are individually admissible but request incompatible values for the same control endpoint, runtime governance is required before execution. This work proposes a governance model that represents service–resource bindings, service and resource constraints, runtime context, arbitration-policy bindings, and enforcement relations for composed manufacturing-cell DTs. State-changing requests are evaluated individually before compatib…

Design and Development of An Iot-Based Digital Scale for Measuring Cement Weight Using A Load Cell Sensor at Pt Semen Tonasa, Balikpapan Branch ↗
Manual cement weighing in the industrial environment of PT Semen Tonasa, Balikpapan Branch, is considered inefficient and prone to human error. This study aims to develop a prototype Internet of Things-based digital conveyor weighing system capable of automatically measuring, sorting, and monitoring the weight of cement packages. The system is controlled by an ESP32 microcontroller integrated with a load cell sensor and an HX711 amplifier module to read the dynamic weight of packages moving on the conveyor. The conveyor belt is driven by a DC motor with a BTS7960-series driver, while a servo m…

How to assess evidence about Hardware
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
