Earlier sources: Hardware
Hardware is the physical foundation of computing: chips, sensors, devices, networks, and the processes that manufacture them. Follow semiconductor research, compute architectures, and engineering developments alongside their software and energy connections.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗534 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

A reproducible neuro-fuzzy framework for interpretable anomaly detection in wireless sensor network data streams ↗
Abstract Anomaly detection in wireless sensor networks plays an important role in providing a reliable mechanism for environmental monitoring, healthcare, and industrial automation. Statistical as well as clustering techniques have their own restrictions regarding adaptability whereas machine learning and deep learning algorithms may suffer from high computational costs and low interpretability. To address these limitations, we propose a novel two-phase reproducible anomaly detection framework which includes the combination of Probabilistic Adaptive Neural Gas (PANG) with the Dynamic Evolving…

Direct-Write Defects for Bias-Free Two-Dimensional Optical Synapses Towards In-Sensor Motion Detection ↗
Abstract Optoelectronic synaptic devices, particularly those based on two-dimensional (2D) transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs), emulate biological synaptic functions, promising in neuromorphic computing. However, most TMD-based synapses rely on external gate or bias control, leading to complicated device architecture and high-power consumption. Here, we demonstrate a gate-free and bias-free optical synapses, based on monolayer molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) homojunction with its counterpart made of spatially controlled sulfur (S) vacancies, obtained through laser patterning. By precisely cont…

Multi-sensor fault diagnosis of automated guided vehicles in container terminals using MCNN-SEGate-Transformer ↗
Automated guided vehicles (AGVs) provide horizontal transport between quay-side and yard-side systems in automated container terminals. Reliable fault diagnosis is important for maintaining transport continuity and supporting targeted maintenance. However, operational multi-sensor monitoring data are high-dimensional, contain short-term temporal variations, and include variables with unequal diagnostic relevance. Sensor responses may also overlap across fault types. This study develops MCNN-SEGate-Transformer, a multivariate time-series model for AGV fault diagnosis, in which MCNN denotes a mu…

A UAV object detection and spatial mapping framework integrating enhanced YOLOv7 with graph attention networks ↗
This study proposes a unified UAV perception framework that combines enhanced YOLOv7-based small-object detection with graph attention reasoning and spatial projection. The framework augments conventional single-stage detection with relation-aware context modeling while preserving real-time throughput at an input resolution of 640 × 640 on an NVIDIA RTX 3090 GPU. On VisDrone2019, the proposed method achieves 42.6% mAP@0.5 and 25.8% mAP@0.5:0.95, corresponding to gains of 4.8 and 4.2 percentage points over the YOLOv7 baseline. The corrected projection branch also consistently reduces RMSE acros…

Water-cut measurement using a planar microwave resonant sensor under flowing operating conditions ↗
Accurate monitoring of water content in flowing oil/bitumen pipelines remains a critical challenge in the petroleum industry, as it directly affects production optimization, custody transfer, and reservoir management. In this study, we present a new microwave sensor approach for real-time, noncontact quantification of water content in flowing oil-water mixtures under operating conditions. The sensing approach exploits the strong dielectric contrast between water and oil/bitumen by monitoring the flowing stream over a defined microwave frequency range and tracking resonance frequency shifts ass…

Electrochemical Sensor Based on Laser-Induced Graphene for Cortisol Detection in Physiological Media ↗
As a key biomarker for regulating stress levels, timely detection of cortisol can provide an immediate indication of a person’s current stress status and serve as a valuable reference for preventing related diseases. In this study, a laser-induced graphene (LIG)-based electrochemical sensor for rapid cortisol detection was developed. The prepared LIG/Au/Nafion interface exhibits higher electrocatalytic activity toward cortisol than the LIG/Au interface, attributed to the sulfonate-rich interfacial microenvironment of Nafion, which facilitates the interfacial conduction and removal of the proto…

Additive manufacturing of heterostructured metallic materials: Processing, microstructural characteristics, mechanical properties, and service performance ↗
Developing high-performance metallic materials with excellent mechanical properties and reliable service performance is an everlasting objective of materials research. The perspective on heterostructured materials with dramatic differences in compositions and structures, in conjunction with advanced additive manufacturing methods, offers a spectrum of feasible strategies to artificially create high-performance metallic materials. Despite the extensive literature on heterostructured materials, there is a notable absence of a comprehensive review focusing on additively manufactured heterostructu…

Passive optical fiber sensor system for water level monitoring with implementation of human-machine interface module ↗
In this paper, we demonstrate a remote passive optical fiber sensor system based on space division multiplexing for water level monitoring targeting to extreme environments, such as a spent fuel pool in nuclear power plant. The proposed system is evaluated under laboratory conditions to demonstrate its feasibility for future nuclear safety instrumentation applications. It employs a broadband light source as a seed light and a 1 × 4 optical splitter for multiplexing/demultiplexing multiple optical fiber sensors. Four sensors are vertically installed in a water pool at predefined heights. By mea…

A Cache-Aware Compression Framework: Deriving the Compression Target and Stopping Rule for Transformers on CPU-Class Hardware ↗
In post-training compression of Transformer models, the compression ratio or pruning rate is often predetermined and does not directly take into account the memory capabilities of the target hardware. This work introduces a cache-aware post-training compression framework for CPU-class hardware. The framework derives the minimum required compression ratio from the effective weight working set of the operator or layer and the effective level-3 (L3) cache budget. The cache budget is treated as a hardware resource shared with concurrent modules rather than as a latency heuristic. If functional red…

Automated nonplanar slicing for robotic additive manufacturing via voxelized simulation and data-driven voting ↗
Robotic arms enable curved-layer deposition beyond conventional gantry limitations, but selecting a suitable layer field remains challenging. Existing slicers often focus on surface conformity or require part-specific finite element constraints. This study selects layer fields from a bounded library of analytical height fields using voxelized toolpath–mesh agreement and load–layer-plane alignment. Weighted voting selects a field family under a user-defined objective weight, followed by scaling-factor estimation. Random-forest surrogates approximate evaluator-generated labels for repeated queri…

How to assess evidence about Hardware
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
