THE INTERNET IS THINKING

Earlier sources: Hardware

Hardware is the physical foundation of computing: chips, sensors, devices, networks, and the processes that manufacture them. Follow semiconductor research, compute architectures, and engineering developments alongside their software and energy connections.

SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.

528 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.

Earlier sources

Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Electrical impedance tomography beyond the icu: wearable architectures and AI under translational constraints ↗

Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) enables real-time functional imaging using non-ionizing currents and compact, low-cost hardware, but its clinical footprint remains largely confined to ICU lung monitoring. Advances in wearable architectures and artificial intelligence (AI) are driving EIT toward point-of-care applications, yet translation remains limited by technical and validation barriers. This review synthesizes progress in hardware, image reconstruction, and AI-enabled analysis, and outlines a roadmap for advancing EIT toward scalable multi-organ imaging.

Analysis of conjugate heat transfer in a vented process chamber for thin-film deposition in semiconductor fabrication ↗

Conjugate heat transfer in vented deposition chambers is a complex transport phenomenon involving strong coupling among forced convection, natural convection, and heat conduction through solid components. In this work, we investigate this behavior in a vented process chamber designed for thin-film deposition applications in semiconductor manufacturing. The model is motivated by laser chemical vapor deposition systems, where silane ( S i H 4 ) enters the chamber through a top inlet and the exhaust stream exits from a lower-right outlet. A silicon substrate is embedded within the chamber, and th…

Performance Impact of Failure and Recovery Mechanisms in LoRa Sensors ↗

Abstract LoRa sensor deployments are widely used in monitoring applications, where multiple devices generate packets continuously or periodically. In these scenarios, system performance is affected not only by the number of sensors and the packet generation rate, but also by intermittent failures. When a sensor becomes unavailable, packets may be lost and throughput decreases. The recovery time then defines how long the system remains in this degraded condition. Traditional long-term analyses may hide these short-term effects, especially the sudden increase in packet losses during and shortly…

Energy efficient multi sink routing for large scale healthcare Internet of Things wireless sensor networks using reinforcement learning and multi objective optimization ↗

Increasing the network lifetime of healthcare Internet of Things systems deployed in large-scale wireless sensor networks requires energy-efficient, reliable, and secure communications. However, existing approaches do not adequately support shared-path reuse, intelligent forwarding, node fault handling, and adaptive relay deployment, resulting in increased energy consumption, communication overheads, and transmission delays. To address these limitations, this paper proposes an energy-efficient multi-sink routing framework based on the Steiner Routing with Route Memory and Path Cache Mechanism…

A flexible piezoelectric sensor for non-contact monitoring of respiratory and heart rates: accuracy and clinical feasibility under simulated dental treatment conditions ↗

OBJECTIVES: Vital signs are not routinely monitored in dental practice, potentially delaying the recognition of medical emergencies. This study aimed to evaluate the accuracy of a piezoelectric sensor (Taido Sensor, Sumitomo Riko Co., Ltd., Nagoya, Japan) for measuring respiratory rate (RR) and heart rate (HR). Resilience against vibrations from cutting instruments was also assessed. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Fifteen healthy participants were monitored on a dental chair fitted with the sensor. Respiratory inductive plethysmography and electrocardiography served as reference methods. Three protoco…

Hybrid multilayer surface plasmon resonance sensor based on tantalum pentoxide and silver gallium sulfide for ultra-trace detection of lead (II) ions in environmental samples ↗

pollution of water by lead ions (Pb 2 + ) presents a serious health risk and requires sensitive detection of Pb2 + ions based on refractive-index (RI) variations. Hence, the detection of this Pb 2+ ion has been done by employing a surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensor with a six-layer structure that includes tantalum pentoxide ( 𝑇 𝑎 2 ⁢ 𝑂 5 ), silver (Ag), silver gallium sulfide ( 𝐴 𝑔 𝐺 𝑎 𝑆 2 ) , and black phosphorus (BP) to provide real-time and accurate detection of Pb 2+ ions. The sensor performance was analyzed at a 633 nm wavelength using the transfer matrix method (TMM) and angu…

FASP: A Fault-Aware Hardware/Software Partitioning Framework for Security Verification in Reliable Digital Microfluidic Biochips ↗

The existing computer-aided design approaches for Digital Microfluidic Biochips focus on optimising execution time and electrode utilisation, but overlook security verification overhead as a synthesis constraint. The advanced detection method, based on ResNet-50 deep neural networks with 98% accuracy, requires three to four orders of magnitude more computational capacity (3.8 GFLOPS) than the embedded biochip controllers. Existing reactive recovery approaches suffer from prohibitive latency, with re-synthesis algorithms requiring seconds to 33 minutes on desktop processors, causing timing viol…

How to assess evidence about Hardware

Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
