THE INTERNET IS THINKING
Earlier sources: Hardware
Hardware is the physical foundation of computing: chips, sensors, devices, networks, and the processes that manufacture them. Follow semiconductor research, compute architectures, and engineering developments alongside their software and energy connections.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗520 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Hall effect FEM modeling using FreeFEM++: Illustration on a cross-shaped graphene sensor ↗
The Hall effect, which occurs in metals and semiconductors, is used in numerous applications, particularly in the fabrication of magnetic field sensors. This phenomenon is influenced by the physical properties of the material (electron mobility, doping), the geometry of the device, and the size and position of the metallic contacts. The analytical model has limitations in accurately capturing all these phenomena. Therefore, in this work, we propose a finite element model using FreeFEM++ to accurately model the Hall effect. The validity of this model is assessed by comparing it to analytical on…

Asynchronous intermittent control strategy for stability of stochastic delayed complex networks with deception attacks based on Dupire’s functional Itô formula ↗
This paper investigates the mean-square exponential stability of stochastic delayed complex networks under asynchronous intermittent control with deception attacks (AICDA). Because different nodes have different dynamics, each node requires its own independent intermittent control. Meanwhile, sensor–controller and controller–actuator channels may suffer from deception attacks. The asynchrony makes traditional Halanay inequality methods inapplicable. To overcome this difficulty, we introduce an auxiliary timer for each node, which increases during working intervals and decreases during resting…

In-orbit monitoring for dynamic detector-oriented containment of TID-induced degradation in CMOS-TDI sensor systems ↗
Abstract Space-borne CMOS-based sensor systems with time delay and integration (TDI) functionality are susceptible to the radiation environment in orbit. Total ionizing dose (TID) impacts CMOS detector structures and considerably deteriorates performance and image quality. We investigated dynamic detector-oriented methods to counteract TID-induced degradation effects. We equipped the CMOS-TDI detector system with in-orbit monitoring capabilities applying charge injection and subsampling to reveal inherent detector operation feedback and enable system adaptation during operation. Thus, the impa…

Membrane-Integrated Organ-on-a-Chip Systems ↗
Membranes play a key role in many organ-on-a-chip (OOC) platforms due to nutrient and mass transport, barrier formation, and mechanical signaling. However, despite their key role in OOC devices, the relationship between membrane design parameters and device performance is limited in the literature. Here, this review gives a critical overview of not only the types of membranes for OOC devices (natural, synthetic, hybrid, and emerging functional membranes) but also defines the key engineering design requirements for the selection and integration of membranes with microfluidic OOC platforms. Addi…

Study of Spectrally Resolved Optical Waveguide Resonant Sensor Enhanced with Perovskite Thin Film ↗
A spectrally resolved optical waveguide resonance sensor modified with perovskite film is proposed. The sensor is based on a Kretschmann configuration consisting of a coupling prism, an indium tin oxide (ITO) glass, a gold film, a mesoporous TiO2 layer, and a perovskite film. In the fabrication process, a gold film was first deposited onto the ITO glass by magnetron sputtering, followed by the deposition of a mesoporous TiO2 layer via a sol–gel method, and finally a perovskite film was prepared using a two-step process. The thicknesses of the mesoporous TiO2 and perovskite layers were measured…

Contributions to Integrity and Collaboration in Dynamic Sensor Networks ↗
Abstract Reliable and safe navigation of autonomous systems is an active field of research, particularly in the context of complex urban environments. A key challenge is navigation integrity, defined as the trust in the correctness of the estimated system state; the transfer of this concept from aviation to collaborative multi-agent systems remains an open research challenge. Addressing this gap, this paper presents the methodological developments and key findings of the DFG-funded i.c.sens research project, which focused on navigation integrity in dynamic collaborative sensor networks. To acc…

RISC-V hardware attack detection using on-chip hardware performance counters ↗
Abstract Hardware attacks exploit microarchitectural vulnerabilities at the CPU level, and RISC-V processors are no exception. These attacks induce anomalous behavior by stressing specific hardware components beyond the patterns observed in legitimate applications. Such deviations can be captured through internal monitoring units, namely Hardware Performance Counters (HPCs). This work analyzes a diverse set of hardware attacks on the RISC-V XuanTie C910 core and introduces a methodology that integrates HPC logging with Machine Learning (ML) techniques for automated attack detection. We present…

Tuning the Properties of 3D‐Printed Electrochemical Devices by Using Different Fused Deposition Modeling Printers and Setups ↗
Although fused deposition modeling (FDM) 3D printing has emerged as an accessible and versatile approach for the fabrication of electrochemical sensors, the type of printer and manufacturing setup might affect the quality of the ultimate device. In this work, the electrochemical performance of conductive polylactic acid (PLA)‐based printed sensors have been tuned by interrogating different cost classes and hardware configurations. Electrochemical behavior was investigated using cyclic voltammetry with both inner‐ and outer‐sphere redox probes, namely potassium ferricyanide (III) and hexaammine…

Design of a 3D Aggregation Backbone Network-on-Chip Architecture for High-Speed Data Acquisition Systems ↗
Time-interleaved high-speed data acquisition (HS-DAQ) systems based on three-dimensional network-on-chip (3D NoC) architectures require efficient transmission of multi-channel sampled data. However, existing general-purpose NoC architectures are not well suited for the deterministic multi-source aggregation communication pattern of HS-DAQ systems, which may result in increased long-distance transmission overhead and localized traffic congestion. To address these issues, this paper proposes a 3D aggregation backbone network-on-chip architecture (3D AB-NoC) for HS-DAQ systems. This architecture…

How to assess evidence about Hardware
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
