THE INTERNET IS THINKING
Earlier sources: Hardware
Hardware is the physical foundation of computing: chips, sensors, devices, networks, and the processes that manufacture them. Follow semiconductor research, compute architectures, and engineering developments alongside their software and energy connections.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗520 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

A quasi-zero stiffness triboelectric vibration sensor for high-fidelity vibration characterization ↗
Triboelectric nanogenerator-based vibration sensors offer a promising solution for large-scale, distributed vibration monitoring in mechanical equipment and civil infrastructure. However, their performance is often compromised by inherent structural resonance, which introduces frequency-dependent sensitivity and distorts broadband vibration waveforms. In this work, we present a quasi-zero stiffness triboelectric vibration sensor (QZS-TEVS) that extends the post-resonance operational region towards ultralow frequencies, facilitating high-fidelity broadband vibration characterization. Specifical…

Additive manufacturing in rocket propulsion systems: a literature review ↗
Abstract Additive manufacturing (AM), commonly referred to as 3D printing, enables the layer-by-layer construction of components and offers distinct advantages over traditional subtractive manufacturing methods. These include reduced lead times, lower material waste, cost savings and the ability to fabricate complex geometries that are otherwise difficult or impossible to achieve. These benefits have made AM particularly attractive for aerospace applications, especially in the production of rocket propulsion systems. This review examines the role of AM in manufacturing propulsion-specific comp…

Testing Robustness of Temporal Transportation Networks via Interval Separators ↗
This paper addresses the problem of identifying time interval separators in temporal networks. We introduce d-MinIntSep, a new variant of the temporal separator problem, which models failures as time intervals assigned to vertices and aims to block all temporal paths between a source and a target that can be completed within a given deadline d. We prove that the d-MinIntSep problem is NP-hard and hard to approximate within a logarithmic function of the size of the vertex set, assuming P ≠ NP, and we propose an Integer Linear Programming (ILP) formulation to compute minimum interval separators.…

Simulating and sampling from quantum circuits with 2D tensor networks ↗
Classical simulations of quantum circuits play a vital role in the development of quantum computers and for taking the temperature of the field. Here, we classically simulate various physically-motivated circuits using 2D tensor network ansätze for the many-body wavefunction which match the geometry of the underlying quantum processor. We then employ a generalized version of the boundary Matrix Product State contraction algorithm to controllably generate samples from the resultant tensor network states. Our approach allows us to systematically converge both the quality of the final state and t…

Differentiable astrophysics at scale: solving and differentiating ODE ensembles on the GPU ↗
Astronomers increasingly fit their models with gradient-based methods, such as Hamiltonian Monte Carlo, which need the derivatives of the model with respect to its parameters. In many analyses a prediction requires solving a small system of ordinary differential equations (ODEs) for thousands to millions of parameter sets, and this ensemble of integrations often sets the cost of the analysis. We introduce to the astronomical community GRADSOLVE, a JAX library that moves this computation to graphics processing units (GPUs): it integrates each member of the ensemble in its own GPU thread with it…

Evolving robust memristive spiking neural networks via metaheuristic algorithms for noise-resilient neuromorphic inference ↗
Abstract Neuromorphic systems hold the promise of ultra-low-power event-conditions intelligence, but noise and non-idealities of hardware of the memristive devices limit their practical use. Nonetheless, it is not understood how to attain an inference which is both noise-robust and accurate as well as energy-efficient across realistic multi-source perturbations. In this case we develop a metaheuristic evolutionary learning system which substantially alleviates this well-known robustness–efficiency trade-off in memristive spiking neural networks. The optimization of spiking networks is done wit…

Vibration Effects and Mitigation Strategies for In-Transit Additive Manufacturing: A Scoping Review ↗
Additive manufacturing (AM) is increasingly being considered for deployment in dynamic operating environments to enable distributed, on-demand manufacturing closer to the point of need. However, sustained environmental vibration presents challenges to print quality, process stability, and operational reliability, particularly for material-extrusion systems intended for in-transit operation. This scoping review maps evidence on vibration-induced effects, vibration characteristics, and mitigation strategies relevant to in-transit AM using the PRISMA-ScR framework. Systematic searches of Web of S…

How to assess evidence about Hardware
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
