Earlier sources: Energy
Energy research and engineering concern how power is produced, stored, delivered, and consumed. Follow solar and nuclear power, fusion, geothermal systems, batteries, electricity grids, and changing power demand.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗751 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

A Comprehensive Review of Power System Frequency Regulation Supported by Wind and Energy Storage Systems: State-of-the-Art Methods ↗
With the increasing penetration of wind power in modern low-inertia power systems, frequency regulation (FR) faces significant challenges, primarily due to rapid frequency dynamics and stochastic power fluctuations. Energy storage systems (ESSs) can provide fast-responding bidirectional power support as well as virtual inertia, playing a critical role in enhancing system frequency stability. However, existing reviews provide limited systematic analysis linking model fidelity and operating constraints to the reported performance and applicability of wind–storage FR strategies. To address this g…

Two-stage cGAN-ridge surrogate for battery cold plate topology design ↗
Topology optimisation of liquid-cooled battery cold plates requires repeated computational-fluid-dynamics (CFD) solutions. This cost limits design-space exploration. This study develops a two-stage surrogate for candidate generation and screening. Stage 1 uses a FiLM-conditioned conditional generative adversarial network to generate topology, temperature, and pressure fields from operating conditions. It produces 256 × 256 fields in about 35 ms. On 71 holdout cases, it gives a topology IoU of 0.704 and a temperature SSIM of 0.692. The outlet mean temperature exceeds the inlet mean temperature…

A State Monitoring Method for Shear Hinges in Floating Slab Tracks Based on FMTF and PCNN-RWKV Fusion Network ↗
Floating slab track (FST) is a core vibration and noise reduction technology in urban rail transit. Shear hinges, key connectors of floating slabs, greatly affect rail transit operational stability and safety. Limited by complex operating conditions and weak feature extraction of traditional signal processing, existing methods yield inadequate feature representation, low diagnosis accuracy, and poor anti-noise performance. This study develops a novel shear hinge state recognition network combining Frequency Domain Markov Transition Field (FMTF), Parallel Convolutional Neural Network (PCNN), an…

Response Amplification Analysis Based on Seismic Performance Tests of Electrical Components Incorporating the In-Cabinet Response Spectra of a Nuclear Power Plant Electrical Cabinet Model ↗
Evaluating the seismic performance of safety-related electrical equipment is crucial for limiting severe damage caused by major disasters at nuclear power plants (NPPs). In this study, various electrical components used in multiple Korean NPPs underwent seismic performance tests in accordance with IEEE Std 344, considering the dynamic characteristics of their mounting equipment and the in-cabinet response spectrum (ICRS) at each mounting location. Electrical components demonstrated satisfactory seismic performance and met the acceptance criteria for electrical functions specified in IEEE Std C…

Evaluating DF Relaying Energy-Harvesting Systems with Multiple Antennas and Adaptive Transmission over α-μ Fading Channels ↗
Energy harvesting (EH) is an emerging technology for enabling sustainable wireless communication in sixth-generation (6G) networks, particularly for energy-constrained network nodes that are difficult to maintain or recharge. In this paper, we propose and analyze an adaptive energy-harvesting decode-and-forward (DF) relaying framework over generalized α-μ fading channels. The proposed framework consists of a multi-antenna source, an energy-constrained multi-antenna relay, and a multi-antenna destination, with direct source-to-destination communication assumed infeasible due to severe channel i…

Dual-stream attention and feature fusion for human activity recognition via wearable sensors ↗
Abstract Multi-sensor-based human activity recognition (HAR) has attracted considerable attention in recent years. Despite significant advancements achieved through deep learning, extracting refined and subtle features from multiple sensors placed on different parts of the body remains a challenge. Accurate sensor modality attention and temporal information processing are crucial for enhancing model performance. In this paper, we propose a new Temporal and Sensor-Modality Attention with Feature Fusion Network (TSFF). TSFF consists of two modules: the Temporal and Sensor Modality Attention bloc…

Selection signatures in Apis mellifera jemenitica suggest candidate genes potentially involved in energy metabolism, proteostasis, reproduction, and cellular regulation ↗
Honey bees (Apis mellifera) help pollinate plants, support biodiversity, and make a significant contribution to food production. Among their subspecies, A. m. jemenitica (JEM) inhabits desert and semi-desert regions, representing a valuable model for understanding genomic adaptation to extreme environmental conditions. We performed a comparative whole-genome resequencing analysis between JEM and A. m. mellifera (MEL) to identify genetic variants and selection signatures underlying adaptation to arid environments. A total of more than 2.9 million single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were iden…

Longitudinal proxy pack benchmark generation for remaining useful life assessment of light electric vehicle battery packs in swapping systems ↗
Abstract Battery swapping enables rapid energy replenishment for light electric vehicles (LEVs), but high-turnover pack circulation requires reliable pack-level health and remaining useful life ( RUL ) assessment. Publicly reusable longitudinal ageing datasets for complete LEV packs remain scarce. We develop a proxy-pack data-generation and learning framework that organizes independently tested cell-ageing records into fixed-member trajectories representing a 48 V-class 16-series configuration. Each trajectory retains 16 physical-cell identities over their common-cycle sequence. Cycle-level me…

A Bayesian regularized MLEM hybrid approach for reactor fast-neutron spectrum adjustment ↗
Precise characterization of the fast-neutron energy spectrum constitutes a fundamental requirement for evaluating radiation damage in reactor pressure vessels (RPV). Conventional MLEM iterative adjustment algorithms applied to high-precision spectrum adjustment often result in potential spectral artifacts due to the inability to rigorously propagate off-diagonal covariance terms. A novel Bayesian Regularized Maximum Likelihood Expectation Maximization (BR-MLEM) framework is proposed to address these challenges by integrating hierarchical Bayesian priors with adaptive regularization. This metho…

Towards sustainable composite manufacturing: Impact of matrix variants on processing energy and mechanical performance of recycled glass fibre composites ↗
The transition to circular polymer manufacturing requires improved understanding of how recycled feedstock composition influences manufacturing energy demand and final material performance. While recycled fibre-reinforced thermoplastic composites have attracted increasing interest, the connected effects of material composition and processing conditions on specific energy consumption and mechanical properties remain insufficiently quantified. This study presents a systematic correlation-based analysis of post-industrial glass fibre-reinforced polypropylene (GFPP)-reinforced recycled polypropyle…

How to assess evidence about Energy
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
